  1. Better to simply get the law from the horse's mouth, TCA. Use http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/ The self defense/force statutes including "castle doctrine" are in 39-11-601 thru 622 Weapons section is 39-17-1301 thru 1364, carry in vehicles specifically in 39-17-1307 and 39-17-1313. Quick summation of that is that there is now in general no difference for carrying of loaded weapons in personal vehicle for a permit holder or non-permit holder EXCEPT in regard to possession in posted parking areas or school parking areas, which still requires a permit. - OS
  2. Yeah, see my previous post, 100% with 6 or 7 different loads for me too. I really really like the thing. - OS
  3. Odd, this Mericun history thang. The leftists concentrated in the streets of Chicago for the '68 Democratic Convention. - OS
  4. Even if you take it out of NFA purview and sell it as a GCA rifle, or even as just a lower, notification is "suggested" but not required. On the other hand, the new owner cannot put a short barrel on it without a tax stamp, so any configuration of it as a GCA pistol would seem to be a no no, even if it had started life as such before being SBR'd, so that person should be informed of its history I'd think - OS
  5. Breathlessly awaiting your report. - OS
  6. Daily Caller reports "Baton Rouge Shooter Gavin Eugene Long Was Nation Of Islam Member, Railed Against ‘Crackers’ On YouTube Channel" Yet at least one of the shot cops was apparently black. Shooter was marine with honorable discharge. http://dailycaller.com/2016/07/17/baton-rouge-shooter-gavin-eugene-long-was-nation-of-islam-member-railed-against-crackers-on-youtube-channel-video/#ixzz4Ei8VlO54 - OS
  7. Non-chlorinated brake cleaner from Wally is cheapest: Douche it out, shake, blow with canned air or just let dry by itself. Lube appropriately. - OS
  8. Really enjoyed all four rounds myself, and always like it when things come down to basically match play between the final two. That was really I believe the first major won by any Swede I believe? Well, male Swede I mean, sorry Annika. - OS
  9. You did as in David's first post, and selected "block"? Sound like you have "always ask" enabled. - OS
  10. Even if you wanted to, there is the practical matter of making all the parts to be in compliance with the TN law. It's one thing to make maybe a receiver and barrel, but think of all the many small parts that make up a firearm you'd have to fabricate somehow. - OS
  11. Yep, note the Act did not include TN state funds and lawyers to mount your defense, either. And I don't think any of the legislature will be willing to stand in front of the ATF vehicles that take you away. - OS
  12. Not much to risk really, 'cept 10 years in federal prison and $100K in fines. No to mention legal fees. - OS
  13. The only "version" that counts is the actual statute: 4-54-101 - 4-54-106. Only exclusions are: "(1) A firearm that cannot be carried and used by one (1) person; (2) A firearm that has a bore diameter greater than one and one half inches (1 1/2'') and that uses smokeless powder, not black powder, as a propellant; (3) Ammunition with a projectile that explodes using an explosion of chemical energy after the projectile leaves the firearm; or (4) A firearm that discharges two (2) or more projectiles with one (1) activation of the trigger or other firing device." The last one is rather odd, since it conflicts with existing definition of machine gun in TCA, which is "... any firearm that is capable of shooting more than two (2) shots automatically, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger." - OS
  14. That is correct, except that there is also no prohibition about selling them, dunno where you got that. However, the ATF disagrees. No test case yet. - OS
  15. And not permitless. And in Cook county that handgun can't be an "assault weapon", like AR and AK handguns. Mag limit there too? - OS
  16. Oh, thanks. Well, article Chance mentions is just wrong, that went into affect two years ago, not just now. - OS
  17. What is "POV"? I can't seem to fit that into any of the new statutes?
  18. Far as trucking, the main difference for the carrier of actual Hazmat classes (1-9) are the regs as to how it is hauled. Only so much total weight per truck, total weight of certain classes per truck, some is not allowed to be in same area of truck as others, some has to be only in back of truck, etc which all varies according to size/class of the vehicle and whatnot. So yeah, there is really an added degree of hassle, record keeping, package handling and final delivery considerations. Not to mention the extra training time required by law. - OS
  19. Is the answer to the unknown question that there is no hazmat fee for finished ammo shipped via ground, but there is for powder and primers regardless of shipping method? Probably not. - OS
  20. The technical reason is simply that TN honors all other states' permits by statute. It would have to amended by the legislature to change that. - OS
  21. Stingers should never be a test for any firearm, since besides the hyper-velocity, they aren't even standard sized rounds. Velocitors aren't a great all around choice either -- though the case is standard length, the driving band on the bullet is not standard. - OS
  22. Well, we'll see if the rest of us poor bastards behave any differently -- because federal gun law will be much the same the next time the Dems get the Triumvirate in DC. And at some point they will, ya know. - OS
  23. Didn't mean to sound like I was flogging you for it. Does show however that prominent conservation media can be just as wrong as the liberal one though. And once it's in print, it just snowballs around the web. - OS
  24. Oh okay, I gotcha. Forgot about the TICS intermediary, sorry. The TICS info page about denial/appeal does state they will attempt to resolve any non-finalized disposition of a charge, but you're right, they don't really state they'll let you know exactly what it was, so really is unclear just how you find that out. I guess you have to do the FBI NICS appeal too to do that. https://www.tn.gov/tbi/article/firearm-background-checks-faqs - OS
  25. 1. Article is dead wrong, this was NOT what was passed. 2. Whole issue has been beat to death in other recent threads:
