  1. Still not a whole lot, really esoteric. Main question, is it a sintered ("powdered") steel like S30V? - OS
  2. Wild looking pocket clip. Can it be put for tip up, swapping with the skull? I've of course head nothing but great for Hinderer. Google for 35SVN steel reveals nada, sure it's called that? - OS
  3. Again, y'all, regardless of the azzhole's exact motives, he's suing in federal court over environmental issues, citing violations to the Endangered Species Act and the Clean Water Act. So the case will be adjudicated on that basis, not noise or property rights or whatever. - OS
  4. Sort of. USPS is an "independent agency" of the gov. I have read that their no-weapons policy is such that they don't have to post, it's in the "rules" rather than USC law. I just got back from PO myself. Oops. - OS
  5. That is the City County Building. Runs from Main St, over Hill St, to the river. The "Court House" is the old original brick building next to it, corner of Main and Gay. Has separate entrances, although there is one connector from The CC building to it also. What's confusing is that the City County Building has (I think all?) the courts in it, while the Court House is all or mainly admin offices. - OS
  6. TGO's own MusicMan blew up his AR with UltraMax ammo. They eventually paid him for it, best I remember. - OS
  7. "O wad some Power the giftie gie us To see oursels as ithers see us! It wad frae monie a blunder free us An foolish notion: What airs in dress an gait wad lea'es us, An ev'n devotion!" - OS
  8. Queerly odd, I'd say. - OS
  9. None of the Sports are chrome lined. Re-read Dolomite's posts in this thread. Besides the round limit, Kali legal "assault" guns cannot have a removeable mag, using the mag release. They have to be released with a gizmo requiring a separate tool. A .223 bullet works, hence the name. I'd probably not fool with the thing, dunno how they are modified or what it would cost to "re-convert" it. - OS
  10. The classical saying is "queer as a THREE dollar bill" http://whitman.com/News/Phony-as-a-Three-dollar-Bill - OS
  11. Just the fact that they are so little used, it would identity a group that chose to use it, as far as I know. Somebody thought of it for the Starbucks thing, dunno if that was national or local, though. Think it identified with 2A also, was idea. You'd need a nationwide campaign to get it rolling though. And again, if they don't make them any more, wouldn't take long before not everyone could get them. - OS
  12. You must Have been Taught capitalization Styles from The 1700's. - OS
  13. Newbs bring it up every few months. Site seems to have just stalled and sat there pretty early on. Domain registration is up 6/12, we'll see if they renew it. - OS
  14. Yup, somebody caught the woods on fire at the Norris range here about a year ago. - OS
  15. I can even nap right beside it. - OS
  16. Just an explanation about diffs between 5.56 and .223. Nothing about 5.56 "breaking down a gun" as you stated earlier, which I consider hokkum. There's no reason a 5.56 chambered rifle firing 5.56 ammo would wear out before a .223 chambered one firing .223. Also, that paste from Wiki is old and has even been updated -- as even the pressure difference standards are debatable, since SAAMI and C.I.P. disagree about max pressures. C.I.P equates service and proof pressures of the .223 with the 5.56. Conventional wisdom is to not shoot 5.56 in a .223 chambered rifle, and I see no reason not to err on the safe side and abide by that. On the other hand, there doesn't seem to be much documentation of catastrophic failure from doing so. Seems to me there are very few rifles still made in dedicated .223 chambering anymore, except for dedicated target barrels, though. Maybe the Handi-Rifles. Don't know of any ARs. - OS
  17. I see no way she's not guilty of it, unless they just want to give her a big break. School bus is mentioned specifically in statute, too. Assuming the gun was loaded I guess they're charging her under the "going armed" part of 39-17-1309 -- it's a felony conviction even if they just slap her wrists with sentence. I suppose they could give her a big break and only charge her under the second part of the statute, which would be a 'meaner instead, or let her cop to it or some other 'meanor -- as always you get can get all the justice you can afford. - OS
  18. Been meaning to do the same. Heck yeah, it seems high. I only pay $200 per year for $50K worth of renter's insurance. (firearms $2500 max coverage) - OS
  19. Give her this, perhaps one of the best National Anthem renditions ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wupsPg5H6aE Little factoid: she was actually singing, but into a dead mike, while her prerecorded version went over the PA. Was sort of lip syncing and sort of not.
  20. Firefox Spell Check Fix: - OS
  21. Found this on IPBoard forum, works for me: Start by opening any forum, and either "Start A New Topic" or "Reply to an Existing Topic" as if you wished to actually post. Type any word in the body of your message... preferably a misspelled word. RIGHT CLICK on that word, and from the popup menu select the "Languages >" flyout at the bottom. Click "English/United States Bing! Spell check should activate. Seems some if not all editions of Win7 don't have the English activated, although it's already selected in XP. - OS
  22. Some of you obviously haven't watched the thing. While the noise may be his real motivation, he's suing in federal court over environmental issues due to lead and whatnot. - OS
  23. I agree on your statement on your statement. - OS
