  1. Gotta use mothballs, right? Especially good to deter the hoop snakes. - OS
  2. Good reason to never believe anything he says in the future. - OS
  3. Well, for whatever genetic reason, they just don't get nearly as big as the standard cougar. Certainly not the size of the ones that have indeed been documented here recently. - OS
  4. Cause the only known ones in FL are an isolated subspecies. They're much smaller, too. Also also, AFAIK no validated reports from other states south of us. - OS
  5. Dead one on side of busy road in middle of Chattanooga not long ago. Maybe those are coming from the South rather than the West. - OS
  6. Yeah, I was adding link as you posted. - OS
  7. Hell, he was actually only 2. Likely would have been a world class long distance runner had he grown up! Final autopsy report and determination: http://www.newschannel5.com/news/local-news/final-autopsy-results-released-in-noah-chamberlin-case - OS
  8. Noah Chamberlin I guess... He just wandered off, died of hypothermia. - OS
  9. We can assume the rifle was loaded, so it was illegal carrying of a firearm under 39-17-1307) We don't have a "brandishing" law, would have to rise to level of aggravated assault to be a crime in that regard. But you can't tote a loaded long gun in public in this state period. - OS
  10. I've shot Thunderbolts off and on since I was a kid, never any significant problems. The original Golden Bullets however were without a doubt the worst overall .22LR ever made. They've improved now to be about as good as Thunderbolts. I've always found Blazer to be absolutely the best of bulk .22, matter of fact I rate it exactly the same as 40 gr. MiniMags. Seems to be exactly the same loading, just without the copper wash on the bullet. Just wish could still get it as easily and (relatively) affordably as before. - OS
  11. That whole "disease solution" was written into the movie version only. In the book, it's mostly just organized persistence that finally turns the tide over time. - OS
  12. State Farm and SAFECO only wanted the serial numbers and firearm description, no other documentation. The fact they were documented as being in your possession was all that was required should a claim be filed, no different than a stereo or refrigerator or couch. SAFECO is particularly good, in that there is no minimum coverage for firearms as "valuable items" exception, they are just figured into the overall maximum coverage, though they did want a list of the items w/ the serial numbers. Can't imagine you'd have any probs with any insurer on them regarding proof of ownership, unless they run the numbers for stolen ones. Nothing in either policy from either company I've used about that and I read them pretty carefully. Though I can't speak for other companies of course. - OS
  13. Putting this here since most references to TCA here seem to involve guns. Just noticed that it has been updated. This is second year in a row they've done it in early August, used to be Sept/Oct. - OS
  14. $300 for newbies. New statute also lowered initial price from $115 to 100. - OS
  15. Yep, old farm house I lived in, one night I tossed some forks and knives into the sink and sparks flew. The element in water heater had somehow shorted out so that the drain from the sink was hot, but not the water pipes to it. Weird. - OS
  16. And knives too, for some reason. - OS
  17. Yep. Max Kingery probably just put him on the list to shadow at the range. - OS
  18. end of URL wasn't linked: http://pmddtc.state.gov/compliance/Applicability of the ITAR Registration Requirement to Firearms Manufacturers (Publish).pdf - OS
  19. Just part of the Taurus Forever Warranty -- takes forever to get it fixed. - OS
  20. Judging by the BLM representation at the convention, she'll probably wind up as Hillary's AG. - OS
  21. Except it's not a rifle. - OS
  22. Nobody else will toot my horn. - OS
  23. High tech work around: Print page one only. Reinsert paper. Print page two only. Etc. - OS
  24. Doubt it. RK has always posted (non statutorily compliant) here for show held in non-park venue. In a nutshell, that. - OS
  25. Yep to all that. But in reality the law as enacted will likely make x number of businesses to change policy, and OP was right that the law in question is the reason RK is doing it, even though he had the motive wrong. AND, I seriously doubt that the original version would have stood judicial muster when challenged anyway, but this one probably will. - OS
