Get a Sub2000 if you pick a semi auto that's compatible. Glock makes 33 round 9mm mags, Beretta makes a 30. - OS

Got to, man. I grew up on bad Hollywood -- silver bullets are for werewolves. Crosses ward off vampires, but they don't have to be silver. Killer stakes have to be wood, From Dusk Till Dawn notwithstanding. Sunlight always works. Has Anne Rice and Seph Meyer et alia been revising the actual truth or something? - OS

Don't think this is how the "stand your ground law" works

Y'all heard the 911 tape, right? Guy was tailing the kid on foot by then, 911 guy said "so you're following him?" and "we don't want you to do that" or words pretty close to that. Didn't even shoot him on his own property, right? No mention of weapon on the kid. I don't guess you have to retreat in FL either, but that doesn't mean you can advance to stir something up. I mean, just that much seems like he'd be charged here with something anyway. Just sounds like some fix was in. If the fed's looksee into it doesn't crank something up then maybe not, we'll see. - OS -
Use the Swiss Tech all the time. It's the 19 in 1. Have a lesser one but needed the different size screwdrivers quite a bit. Here's pic and one buy link to anyone else interested: http://www.amazon.co...l/dp/B001AY2WLU - OS

Post in the Feedback and Support Forum where David is more likely to see it sooner, where you would have also found this? http://www.tngunowne...support-issues/ Not being crass, really, but I'm sure he looks there first when he has TGO time. Probably worth mentioning that there have apparently been glitches with the Benefactor thing since the big software switchover, but I'm sure he'll work it out for ya. Also, have you tried with a PC? The most probs reported with the new software seem to be mobile device related. Welcome to TGO! - OS

NYC gun-packing tourist from TN gets no jail time
Oh Shoot replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Assuming TN considers it Class A misdemeanor, which I guess it is. Do other states have roughly the same classes of 'meanors? Probably this one is among, if not the, highest though. TCA also says: " If a permit holder is convicted of a Class A misdemeanor offense, the permit holder shall surrender the permit to the court having jurisdiction of the case for transmission to the department." So she's supposed to give the permit to the court in NYC? Reckon anybody up there in the court even knows about this, including her lawyer? Of course, this case is highly publicized, but what about getting popped for things in other states in general. Think the whole US system is cohesive enough to notify the TNDOS back home here? - OS -
The Quote button under that person's post you want to include is what does it. I don't use anything but a PC though. Looks like you quoted the pertinent comment you wanted to follow to me. For pics, you have to have a host for them somewhere. Your own ISP generally gives you space if you learn to use it. PhotoBucket seems to be the most popular freebie site. Get your pix where ever, then use the Image icon and paste or type in URL of the pic in the resulting dialog. You can practice in test forum and best to ask these type questions in the Feedback and Support forum. - OS

WOULD ANYONE BE INTERESTED IN A GET TOGETHER IN BLOUNT COUNTY?

Sure, to a certain extent. But you've gotta realize that a significant percentage of generations of Tennesseans have become conditioned toward the "progressive" side of things too. That giant media machine works, you know. Kids that grow up nowadays and only watch network news as their main source are simply gonna lean that way, can't help it. Even subtle influences like TV cop shows figure in. If it ain't a LEO, mostly only bad guys have guns, and the "you got a permit for that?" kind of thing, all filtering in from Kali and NYC. What one is "taught" long enough one becomes, to a great extent, politics, religion, whatever. There's a reason there ain't many Christians in Yemen nor Muslims in Tennessee. Then too, like most places, you just have more folks living closer together, often surrounding only pockets of significant remaining acreage. Like where we were. It's not like they're making more land, but we keep cranking out the people. Look at all them up and coming suburbanites within earshot. Not many of them shoot much in the backyard, eh? We were actually pret close to that Cressingham Dr. too, that's where both the pc guy and the nice cop came down from. If all the homes around there were on about the same size turf as our host's, it would be a significantly different culture in the area too. People that grow up where they can piss off the porch generally aren't nearly so gun shy. Still, if folks shot there some every week or two, the neighbors would likely become much more "conditioned". Maybe irritated still, but not to the point of calling the cops, who'd also be conditioned to tell 'em they're already aware of the situation and it's okay even if they did. - OS -
Yeah, Marlin is 9+1 .357, 10+1 .38. Hard to find a Marlin 1897 though and they go for MSRP or more most of the time. Most get another brand anymore. - OS

Well, I'm big on the shared caliber issue. Add the convertible version of the Ruger Blackhawk and you can span 3 calibers right there: .38/.357/9mm I cover 9mm with: several pistols Ruger Blackhawk revolver Kel-Tec and Hi-Point carbines .38/.357: Couple of double action revolvers plus Ruger Blackhawk Marlin 1894c carbine. .22LR: Revolver/semi auto pistol (A Ruger Single Six will let you shoot .22mag too) Rifle of your choice - OS

Personalised, electronic handgun headed for commercialisation
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
NJ's are getting 'bout worse than NYC. At least it's pretty plain for most residents in NYC: no guns. In NJ, like Kali, there are so many laws plus new ones pending that most gun owners are probably guilty of something whether they mean to be or not. Good example of Rand's "controlling all by making all criminals". - OS -

Concerned about parking lot confrontation
Oh Shoot replied to Volphin's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Not that I have any first hand experience in the matter, but unless you're carrying a centerfire rifle type handgun, the odds of most any COM handgun round exiting with enough velocity to hurt someone else seems quite low indeed. And of course, you're going to hit COM, right? But seriously, if you're using something that is proven likely to do so, you might want to reconsider caliber or bullet type, since if your projectile ain't staying with the purp then it's not expending all of its energy on him either. Just one way to look at it perhaps. Another is, you can only control one thing at a time -- and if becomes a reasonable likelihood of life or death you pretty much need to deal with that first or the rest becomes suddenly quite non sequitur, eh? - OS -

Always a debatable topic. Best answer is always: depends on severity, extent, and duration of the crisis. Obviously, if the entire USA reverted to a worst case chaos over short time span due to total breakdown of currency, law, and services/infrastructure, barter of physical goods and/or labor would reign for x amout of time. Beans and bullets (and toilet paper ) would be worth more than any precious metal. But even if we had to start over from 1850's type resources, precious metals would almost certainly re-assume value, as they have since written human history of some 5K years. Of course, if you don't make the cut in the meantime because you succumb to starvation, exposure, disease, or violence, wouldn't matter how much you had stashed, eh? - OS
