  1. They said he wasn't "passing through" since he stopped at VA Hospital. However, all charges were eventually dropped. Prob is, they've kept his guns still. - OS

  3. 1. because Handgun Carrier is not a protected class as per federal law 2. because your 2A right is infringed other questions? - OS
  4. Not at all. It's relatively rare for a LEO to ask for permit anymore for open carry or (failed) conceal carry -- unless he's been called to scene, or sees something else peculiar going on. - OS
  5. That would be truly astounding indeed! Hope it happens, especially with a thoroughbred knife like that. Keep us informed. - OS
  6. How do you know that? - OS
  7. The agenda can't be realized as quickly if BHO ain't at the helm, yes. Look for some "crisis" to manifest about a month before the election. Though it is probably tinfoil-ish to imagine that O would try to forestall actual election over it, it could still be manufactured in attempt to dissuade the electorate from changing horses in middle of the crisis stream, something Dubya certainly had going for him second time around. - OS
  8. Long enough to preempt presidential elections. - OS
  9. How were you "concealed" carrying?
  10. I'm not uncomfy carrying openly, I just don't want the attention. I don't even want "good" attention, like between fellow carriers, folks who you can educate about handgun laws, 2A, etc etc. I don't want any attention at all related to a heater on me. - OS
  11. 686 was made in several barrel lengths, including this 12 incher:
  12. Maybe. Sometimes. Then again, they wouldn't have as much total volume to begin with, so ... - OS
  13. Anybody can "call" themselves married. Doesn't change the couple's status in the real world though unless the government has something to do with it. Either state, or federal, or both. Just heard today Rhode Island is taking a rather odd stand: they won't let same sex get married there, but will recognize same sex marriages from other states. So everybody who wants to do it just has to pop over the line to CT or MA, then come back. Really not sure just what their logic is on this one. - OS
  14. Just from last few threads here and elsewhere, sounds like they've worked out the bugs so that about half of them run without trip back home. Nothing above 124gr bullets, no NATO or +p rated rounds, that sounds dicey. Saw quite a few at last gunshow here. - OS
  15. Yes, he still has the possibility of becoming the most hated man in GOP history. And also to queer Rand from ever going anywhere in the party, too. Of course, Rand can always rise to power on a third party ticket, right? Yeah, riiiggghhhttt. - OS
  16. News just broke: he's broke, "suspending" active campaigning. - OS
  17. Wow. Denzel has carried well some of the most memorable roles I've ever seen in film. Nick is mostly just a hoot, has almost become a parody of himself, yet his role in Leaving Las Vegas stands alone, one of the greatest in all of cinema. Kevin is fine, never too deep for his own real persona, and always a hopeless romantic at heart; and of course he's produced about as much as he's just acted in. - OS
  18. I'd rather have a gun down the road. Remember that when Obama's Supreme Court takes yours away in time. - OS
  19. And the state. That's the problem. No matter who marries you, without that license you ain't married for legal purposes. So the question becomes, should folks have the same legal benefits of marriage in all states? If no, it remains state rights issue. If yes, it will take federal law. Also, will take federal law change for ALL married people to get same federal benefits. - OS
  20. Actually, you may well be right. I haven't kept up with the various changes in TCA as to how they affect LEOs. I know federal LEOSA doesn't override some local prohibitions. - OS
  21. I just don't see it that way at all. I get 150-200 bucks back a year on card through retail gift cards. Used to be more like a grand when I ran bigger biz expenses on card. Wish I could pay rent with it. When I redeem points, I just pick which stores I need stuff from at the time, usually just go with WalMart, but used to do Cabela's or Best Buy some. If I had much of a social life, might do at restaurants and such, but I don't so I don't. Can do for cash, too, but you don't get as high a percentage as doing the retail gift cards. I've bought NOTHING with the card I wouldn't have bought anyway, don't pay any attention to "extra point" offers, never carry a balance so pay no interest, just put everything on it I can instead of writing checks. It's actually just found money to me, seems quite illogical to turn it down. It's like finding x number of Benjamins on the street each year and not making the effort to simply bend down and pick them up. - OS
  22. Must've got "stepped on" during data base downtime or something. Can't you just relist it? - OS
  23. Do you also refuse to use grocery store discount card they all issue? Makes just as much sense, and I'm sure they appreciate the extra profit just as much as the cc companies do if you don't redeem your points. - OS
  24. My first one is that AFAIK their sign does not prevent LEOs from carrying, on or off duty, so is non sequitur to the actual problem that caused them to post it? - OS
