  1. Nope. I just honestly didn't know they could be set that low. My old heap that has one seems to be about 50 minimum. Comment was because all but one of the speeding tickets I've ever gotten were "low speed" ones, around town, never have had one on the big road where most folks set the cruise, as was apparently case with the OP too. - OS
  2. This topic title mentions the word "crime". If I've committed one, I'll clam up. If I haven't, I'll give the basics to the first investigating cops. - OS
  3. XDs have matching serials on lower, barrel, and slide. Only the lower (receiver) "counts" with BATF. - OS
  4. Same here. Back on topic, my country has been stolen in stealthily subtle increments over time. This election is perhaps it's last long shot gasp, maybe either way it goes -- but it's pretty damn certain where the BHO option leads. - OS
  5. I do seriously believe there are folks who will write in RP even if he croaks before the election. - OS
  6. Only for a day or two. Back to normal reciprocity. Btw, TNDOS site seems to be in error about Wisconsin, still. - OS
  7. I certainly don't read it that way. HCP holders are just mentioned so that it's clear it includes them. It's just a separate charge from unlawful carry for one without a permit. - OS
  8. I'd opine that if legal push ever came to shove, since the only way you can keep it in vehicle on school property is without intent to go armed, that it's more important that it's unloaded than the brief handling to do so. - OS
  9. You set it for 35 around town, do ya?
  10. Well suit yourself, but I can assure you that nobody is gonna bust you for empty mags with the weapon or loaded mags well separated from it. - OS
  11. The "unloaded" definition is clumsy, really obviously means that the gun has no loaded magazine attached or nearby; no LEO is gonna bust ya for having loaded mags, as long as they are well separated from the firearms like any other ammo. As long as you obey this exception in 39-17-1307 you're cool. It basically says the same thing as the definition MonkeyLizard posted, just more clearly: "(2) It is an exception to the application of subsection (a)[unlawful possession] that a person who is not authorized to possess a handgun pursuant to § 39-17-1351 is transporting a rifle or shotgun in or on a privately-owned motor vehicle and the rifle or shotgun does not have ammunition in the chamber or cylinder, and no clip or magazine containing ammunition is inserted in the rifle or shotgun or is in close proximity to both the weapon and any person." or even more simply, just this alone in 39-17-1308 is fine, which includes handguns. "(a) It is a defense to the application of § 39-17-1307 [unlawful possession] if the possession or carrying was: (1) Of an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon;" - OS
  12. Irony is, it might well be more than the fine for unlawful carry right here in TN! - OS
  13. They've shipped all of mine, using the What You Don't Know Won't Hurt Either of Us special method. One was a call tag, two or three others were tags I generated from my account. But you're right, that is not UPS policy. Some UPS Stores may not abide exactly by it, though (see BlueMarlin's post) since they are contractors, not UPS employees, and grope for ever penny through their individual franchises. They get a cut of everything sent through their stores. I've certainly never had one ask what was already in a packed and labeled box, like they will at a UPS Center/Hub when you must go there to pay for the thing. There's another place here called Pack(age)Man(ager)that that will also take UPS or FedEx packages no questions asked as long it's already packed with a paid label on it. Dunno if that's a large chain or what. - OS
  14. Should be spelled "yute" or "yoot" (as per My Cousin Vinny) http://routedriver.home.comcast.net/pub/misc/yutes.wav - OS
  15. If you can generate your own label, no probs, drop and go at UPS Store. But yeah, if you have to pay there, and inform that it's a firearm, they likely won't. - OS
  16. Correct as far as federal law. UPS and FedEx terms of service say you must, though (but no way to prove after the fact whether you did or didn't). - OS
  17. I got a PM9 mainly to carry in pocket. Have stuck with this StellarRigs holster pretty much from the gitgo, been very pleased with it: If I'm gonna take trouble to IWB, I'll go with XD subbie for lots more rounds. I did however wind up with a Bullard for it also, David makes nice stuff (http://www.dmbullardleather.com/) but you can't get it in a hurry anymore unless he happens to have it as an in-stock item, and like Crossbreed Supertuck, it just seems a bit of overkill for such a small gun, but it's certainly comfy and stable, and pretty. I've found this cheapo is about as comfy if I want to carry it IWB for some reason, not even sure what it is, Ace Case maybe. Sits nice and low like the Bullard (high clip position) and is even tuckable if that's your bag -- not conducive to quick draw or anything, but I've never really worried about that. Actually, nothing is quicker than pocket draw, especially if you already nonchalantly have your hand in pocket to begin with . - OS
  18. Just to be precise, that was .38 Long Colt. .38 Special was only minimally ever used by US military in some niche instances, mostly for airmen. - OS
  19. Hague Convention of 1899. Though it's debatable if that's really the reason. - OS
  20. Well, you couldn't legally EDC it here anyway. So what price range are those thangs? Kind of a strange shop, advertizes customizing Meyerco knifes? - OS
  21. Glad you finally scored one. Get yerself a couple of Glock happy sticks and let 'er rip. - OS
  22. Guessing Troy Sellers over in Kodak? http://www.inrangec2.com/ - OS
  23. Remember you said that as you live under the BHO Supreme Court for the next 30 years. With any luck you'll still be able to have a 10 shot .22. Maybe -- with all the pertinent permits of course. - OS
  24. "ThePunisher, on 16 May 2012 - 09:50 PM, said: And over half the people of this country fall for the BS that Obama tells them, and some here." See, you HAVE fallen for BHO's BS if you believe that. He's convinced you he's NOT the AntiChrist. - OS
  25. That statement makes no sense at all, if park was already off limits for carry. What more can they do, search everyone entering it? Maybe try the guy for 39-17-1311 posthumously? -OS
