  1. What is with all this "tax payer" crap? Income taxes, again? You can be a perfectly legitimate member of society, even work a full time job, and legally not owe a dime of of income tax, yet still be able to afford a handgun and the HCP course/permit. There are other situations where folks who lose money in investments and whatnot may not owe any income taxes either. Hell, as a retired person, with the crummy interest rates, I'm getting closer each year to not owing any myself. Folks like us shouldn't have right to carry a firearm in this state? Perhaps we should count as 3/5 of a person as in our nation's past, and have 3/5 of a person's rights? Perhaps only land owning income tax payers should vote. And own slaves. - OS
  2. I do carry a fixed blade myself daily, a necker. And after trying a bunch of different ones of various price ranges, I found I like the inexpensive Meyerco Law Dog the best of all. So much so, that I had a better sheath made for it that cost a bit more than the knife itself. - OS
  3. All knives, in general public. Exceptions for outdoor activities and whatnot. Many TN weapons laws suck. - OS
  4. You're clicking the Google ones, not the Bing ones, right? You're using the Shopping function, not general Google search, right? If so, I can't explain your experience, 'cause Google Shopping search is definitely censored. Same links opened in IE show same 0 results. - OS
  5. From my links? You should see "Your search - wolf 9mm ammo - did not match any shopping results" and similar - OS
  6. I can't find original notices either, but simple searches with Google Shopping shows that it's real: Ruger LCP Google Shopping: https://www.google.c...iw=1637&bih=825 Ruger LCP Bing Shopping: http://www.bing.com/...ORM=HDRSC6#x0y0 Glock 19 Google Shopping: https://www.google.c...iw=1637&bih=825 Glock 19 Bing Shopping: https://www.google.c...iw=1637&bih=825 Wolf 9mm ammo, Google: https://www.google.c...iw=1637&bih=825 Wolf 9mm ammo, Bing: http://www.bing.com/...mmo&FORM=HDRSC6 Ad infinitum ... try it yourself... most all gun/ammo searches bring up nada on Google Shopping. Knives seem to be unaffected so far, though. - OS
  7. Only in second term as senator, Mike. Since 2003. 40 years ago was before he was even governor. - OS
  8. Put that in past tense, cause I don't remember that. I remember you were selling some at the Blount County get together, though, but seems those really were 10 rounders.
  9. Every time I've sent money as a "gift" a dialogue asks whether I or the recipient will pay the transaction fee. - OS
  10. Trying it out myself. Images and Shopping sections seem about as good as Google, plus firearms wide open. - OS
  11. Well, that's for Google Checkout, much like PayPal Shopping Cart. Totally different matter than just Shopping content search, which is topic here. - OS
  12. Shopping tab shows fairly representative spread of the item for sale, normal search does not. It's a pretty big difference and will sure make a diff as to how folks search for firearms prices to compare. For me for sure, I used it a lot for guns and knives and related. - OS
  13. Yes, but if open carry, don't be totally surprised if you get checked out by a LEO now and then, depending on where you are. And remember, that "blade length" is almost assuredly gonna be measured from handle to tip, not just sharpened part. - OS
  14. What taxes? Are not the HCP tax and the safety course tax and the sales tax and 4473 tax on the firearm enough? - OS
  15. I expressed no point of view, just the facts. The People's Republic of China has a constitution also, and it guarantees that "citizens of the People's Republic of China enjoy freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of procession, and of demonstration." Sure. Words on paper are not rights if they can not be practiced on the society's streets. Our 2A "rights" are infringed in every state in the union; just a matter of degree. - OS
  16. Nice sentiment. But if you can't exercise a right, you don't have it. It's against the law to carry a gun in TN. You must buy a privilege to do it. Yes, just like a driver's license. - OS
  17. I was assuming that PayPal would be used for a shipped item, not face to face. More thinking about simply not getting the gun at all. I agree that FTF transactions between individuals require cash, or forget it. - OS
  18. Oh okay, was just going on first caption in video which says "5/13/2011 KCPD showed up on a MWAG call at our monthly OC meet in Liberty, MO". Didn't know, just figgered KCPD had shared jurisdiction or something. Didn't watch video again to see where location is corrected. Thanks. - OS
  19. “That’s a killer right there. That small gun,†said Chicago Police Sgt. Kevin Johnson, a member of the citywide Anti-Gun Enforcement Team. “It’s a North American Arms .22 caliber,†Johnson said. “That bullet is so small it will bounce. It will travel and you’ll have internal bleeding going throughout your body.†-------------- Hellfire, I'm dumping all these 9mm and .357 thangs, and jumping on that thar killer round! - OS
  20. Prob remains that buyer has no recourse if he's ripped off. - OS
  21. Way dated video, of course. WI now has conceal carry, but didn't then. - OS
  22. Yes, I meant to say MO, but both states are same in regard to open carry. And actually, the gathering was in Liberty, MO, not KC, so local ordinances there in Liberty would apply also since there's no state wide preemption for open carry laws. - OS
  23. I've never said Fed buildings "don't have to be posted". USC 18 Section 930 says that they do. And that you won't be convicted for carrying in them if they are not. Nothing to do with TN law. Confusion is probably that Post Offices are apparently not considered federal buildings under this statute, and operate under a separate set of rules, and posting is not one of them. Even though they would seem to fit the definition of "federal facility" just fine. Must have something to do with their status as "public sector union" workers or something is only thing I can figure. So I may well have said that PO's don't have to be posted to bar carry -- if I ever said "federal buildings" in general don't, I was wrong, simple as that. - OS ------------------------------ edit: What the heck, here is whole statute, it's not that long: 18 U.S.C. § 930 : US Code - Section 930: Possession of firearms and dangerous weapons in Federal facilities (a) Except as provided in subsection (d), whoever knowingly possesses or causes to be present a firearm or other dangerous weapon in a Federal facility (other than a Federal court facility), or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both. ( Whoever, with intent that a firearm or other dangerous weapon be used in the commission of a crime, knowingly possesses or causes to be present such firearm or dangerous weapon in a Federal facility, or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both. © A person who kills any person in the course of a violation of subsection (a) or ( , or in the course of an attack on a Federal facility involving the use of a firearm or other dangerous weapon, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be punished as provided in sections 1111, 1112, 1113, and 1117. (d) Subsection (a) shall not apply to - (1) the lawful performance of official duties by an officer, agent, or employee of the United States, a State, or a political subdivision thereof, who is authorized by law to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of any violation of law; (2) the possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapon by a Federal official or a member of the Armed Forces if such possession is authorized by law; or (3) the lawful carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes. (e)(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), whoever knowingly possesses or causes to be present a firearm in a Federal court facility, or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both. (2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to conduct which is described in paragraph (1) or (2) of subsection (d). (f) Nothing in this section limits the power of a court of the United States to punish for contempt or to promulgate rules or orders regulating, restricting, or prohibiting the possession of weapons within any building housing such court or any of its proceedings, or upon any grounds appurtenant to such building. (g) As used in this section: (1) The term "Federal facility" means a building or part thereof owned or leased by the Federal Government, where Federal employees are regularly present for the purpose of performing their official duties. (2) The term "dangerous weapon" means a weapon, device, instrument, material, or substance, animate or inanimate, that is used for, or is readily capable of, causing death or serious bodily injury, except that such term does not include a pocket knife with a blade of less than 2 1/2 inches in length. (3) The term "Federal court facility" means the courtroom, judges' chambers, witness rooms, jury deliberation rooms, attorney conference rooms, prisoner holding cells, offices of the court clerks, the United States attorney, and the United States marshal, probation and parole offices, and adjoining corridors of any court of the United States. (h) Notice of the provisions of subsections (a) and ( shall be posted conspicuously at each public entrance to each Federal facility, and notice of subsection (e) shall be posted conspicuously at each public entrance to each Federal court facility, and no person shall be convicted of an offense under subsection (a) or (e) with respect to a Federal facility if such notice is not so posted at such facility, unless such person had actual notice of subsection (a) or (e), as the case may be.
  24. Well, I don't intend to be a collector or anything. - OS
  25. Bad as East St. Louis is supposed to be, they probably still need to be in Chicago.
