  1. Meant to add, that's truly weird about only taking the cc by phone though. Absolutely never heard of any big org that takes them at all ceasing to do it online before. I'm sure you have the reason pegged too. - OS
  2. OIC. I use plastic on absolutely everything I possibly can, because they strangely pay me to do it. - OS
  3. ??? Paying it once a month (on time) doesn't incur any interest charges either. - OS
  4. Can't argue with that. - OS
  5. That would take some deft plot writing, since they're like 3000 miles apart. - OS
  6. I'm still more creeped out by the head bashing lineup at the blood trough at Terminus. The simulated sound of that aluminum bat hitting their noggins one after the other down the line is still most shiver inducing for me. - OS
  7. Well, it does indeed seem to be made to look like blood spatter, wasn't there at end of last episode, and ya got Maggie and then Abe to Rick's right, so ...? - OS
  8. Wow, metaphor and reality. - OS
  9. We watched the previews. http://www.amc.com/shows/the-walking-dead/video-extras/sneak-peek-the-walking-dead-season-7-premiere - OS
  10. You may own and carry any type or length knife in TN these days. I'll leave all the suggestions to others. I have only two switchblades any more, one high end custom TGO branded Pro Tech purchased through group buy here (~$240) and a low end Taiwan made Boker ($40). Of course one is much purtier, has a more esoteric steel, and is likely to hold up much longer than the other (or be quickly fixed by the maker), but both function well and are plenty sharp to cut what needs cutting. Neither has a "safety", but neither is at all likely to open in a pocket. I mainly bought the fancy one to commemorate the change in TN knife laws, it's too damn nice to carry. And really, though they are cool, they don't really open any quicker than nice assisted ones anyway, so I'm certainly not an auto snob. I'm sure there are any number of models under a c-note that would tickle you pink. - OS
  11. That would really be a daily ongoing production hassle, I just don't believe they'd write it in just because of that. Most of Herschel's scenes where they showed full body had to be done with "green screen" with CGI retouching or whatever, and I just don't think they'd be willing to do that with a central character who's on screen more than most everybody else. Then again, I guess they could give him a Merle "prosthetic" of some kind to get around that. - OS
  12. So, next Sunday to find out who's snuffed. Or better be -- I'll be pissed if it's other than Glenn, and I'll be perhaps even more pissed if they put it off an episode by doing some opening group flashback thing or other. Anyway, main reason I posted other than make a new post holder -- who watched TWD special tonight, "The Journey So Far" ? I found it quite enjoyable, encapsulating all six seasons into two hours, and letting the cast members and crew narrate it all along the way. Not on Comcast On Demand, at least yet, but I'm sure will be repeated throughout the week some. - OS
  13. Did you just get back from a vacation on Mars? - OS
  14. No reason to leave the gun in glove box in Smokies, as per federal law for quite a few years now you may carry in any National Park according to the carry laws of the state within which the park resides. Which means on the TN side, with your permit you may carry concealed or openly -- EXCEPT in federal buildings within the park, which are supposed to be posted. Elsewhere in the state you can carry pretty much everywhere except school property or in buildings/businesses posted no firearms. City/county/state parks may have outdated "no gun" signs, but they no longer apply to folks with permits. - OS
  15. Traditionally on eBay, much big money shilling happened on auctions where there is a reserve, so the shill accounts quit just under that figure. Listing fees are cheap to free anymore, the FVFs have increased big time to make the nut of eBay's revenue. The other way to get out of fees is to simply claim you didn't get paid, so can auction it again, which sounds like the possible ploy jgrady mentions. But of course this has a pretty limited lifespan, as doing it more than once on big buck item gets noticed by eBay's ever increasingly sophisticated database reporting. - OS
  16. Don't knock over a Stop N Rob with a switchblade either, use a Bowie knife to avoid the extra charge. - OS
  17. Nothing overly exciting, another thousand bangs for the AKs. Sportsman's Guide, w/ member price and free shipping, just over .22 per. One odd thing also was that buying two 500 round lots was $5 cheaper than one 1K lot of the same stuff, though it nevertheless came in one 1K Wolf packed box. And typical of SG's "loose" descriptions/pics, the ammo was indeed lacquer coated, but not primer/bullet sealed. Since it's such a rare item and all , here's (their) pic:

    Go Vols!

Okay, well, I can stay an agnostic. - OS

    Go Vols!

I'm more convinced that ever -- coughing up the ball 6 times, 12 penalties, A&M drops ball at goal line on scoring run, misses winning FG -- if TN finally wins this baby in OT, there's definitely something supernatural going on this season. - OS
  20. So far, everything I see, from extremes like Prison Planet vs. Daily Kos, or NRA vs MAIG are rated excellent, so don't know the actual value of this thing. edit: oops, TGO is only "good". - OS
  21. I believe Hillary has been selling the majority of them for the last year or so. - OS
  22. Got kicked out of their relative lap of luxury for it though. - OS
  23. Had to do with the "guns in cars" back when that was passed. Didn't know if ever was officially resolved. Here was gist of it: "Disney cites language within Florida's newly enacted "Preservation and Protection of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Motor Vehicles Act of 2008" that creates an exception for companies whose primary business is to manufacture, use, store or transport explosives regulated under federal law." http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2008-07-03/news/disneyguns03_1_walt-disney-disney-world-florida-gun-law - OS

    Go Vols!

Won the first game in OT by fumbling in the end zone. Whole season may be preordained. - OS

    Go Vols!

Well, now I can only assume that the Vols must be hand picked by God to win the National Championship. - OS
