I don't know if he existed or not. I'm simply saying there's zero evidence. There are many accounts of supernatural beings, all written after the fact of their supposed occurrence. Indeed, the entire Christ tale bears remarkable resemblance to that of Horus. Who was equally undocumented, and worshiped for 3000 years or more also. - OS

What a sweeping and convincing overview and argument. I merely mentioned there is no contemporary evidence of Jesus' birth, life, or death. It's not even a religious argument, just one of historical fact, or rather, lack of it. It was in response to the contention that one must either believe in Christ as a supernatural being or not. I merely pointed out a third and quite logical possibility. Sorry for the aside: back to whether we go to war in concert with the Jews or not. Even though they're all going to hell since they deny Christ, right? - OS

You also don't seem to understand the word "contemporary". Josephus' scant mention of Jesus occurs some 60 years after Jesus' purported lifetime. No part of any of the Gospels were written during Jesus' lifetime either, otherwise they might have historical value regarding his actual existence rather than only the religious claims. - OS

Has nothing to do with my "faith", or I wouldn't be able to vote at all. I don't see mainstream Christianity as any more valid than Mormonism, just somewhat less wacko. - OS

Any hollow point is generally considered better than a FMJ round, particularly a minimally charged target round like WWB. Various 124gr plus + rounds generally fare the best in testing -- Wally's Winchester PDX1 is surely in the upper echelon of choices. - OS -
True dat. On the religious side, I'm somewhat surprised that nationally the Christian fundamental faithful haven't united against BHO on the basis that he's quite possibly the frigging Anti Christ. Unfortunately, most have only railed against Mitt's cult status. The media on both sides have tiptoed around the Mormon issue, polls too apparently, but I'd opine that if he professed a mainstream denomination he'd be well up in the race. - OS

Yeah, I know. Just bothers me on an intellectual level -- I have to vote for a purported Christian each time, but Mormonism adds even a higher level of mondo bizarro, right up there near alien abduction and skin-walking. - OS

Signs do not have force of law in GA, except that they may also denote a place that is already off limits by law and Turner Field isn't. The trespassing thing applies, as in most other states. - OS

You're a resident as soon as you say you are and can prove it with utility bill, pay stub, landline telephone, other docs. You have six months before an out of state carry permit must be changed to a TN HCP, maybe that's what you're thinking of. You have 30 days to change DL. - OS

So far, a presidential contender has no choice but to claim some sort of Christian belief. I just further recoil from the absolutely lunatic overlay Mormonism adds to the mainstream mythology. - OS

124+p Golden Sabers. When I started carrying, GS was what Knoxville cops carry (in .40), they got plenty good testing reviews. No longer among the top in testing, but I figger plenty good enough. Oh, and they aren't at all prone to setback from lots of re-chambering. - OS -
I can't believe I'm willing to entrust the most powerful office in the world to a Mormon. Should give an idea how much I fear and detest BHO. - OS

Now you got Goode on Constitutional ticket in VA. He's somewhat of a "native son" there, so who knows how many screwballs there will vote for him, most every one a vote taken from Romney. His name will prominently be featured third on the ballot. - OS

I thought they all came with a factory bipod? - OS

Just collectible, mostly methinks. I bought a used 10/22 from TGO member couple years back, it had one on it. Personally didn't much like it, seemed narrow against shoulder, couldn't easily put standard sling base in it. So when I found they were worth something, I sold it on eBay for more than the Hogue overmold I put on it. The boat paddle was used on other Ruger rifles, too, and there were also different styles. Here's one with ribbed inserts and showing the factory sling adapters that came on some, but you couldn't buy them separately anywhere. This one also has a nice padded butt which AFAIK the 10/22 variants never had. - OS

Wolf used to use Tula Works, but not now, some contract rift, seems. Since they it's not Ulyanovsk either, I figger it's Barnaul. http://www.wolfammo....aging_Alert.pdf Tula has same notice, in reverse on their US site: http://tulammousa.com/news/ - OS

Has been debated before, but: TN has a definition of a firearm: ""Firearm" means any weapon designed, made or adapted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive or any device readily convertible to that use" Firearms are illegal to carry. A HCP allows you to carry a handgun, which is also defined as a type of firearm: ""Handgun" means any firearm with a barrel length of less than twelve inches (12'') that is designed, made or adapted to be fired with one (1) hand;" So my take is that it would not be legal to carry black powder, antique, whatever, under the statutes, since they meet the TCA definition of "firearms". ---------------- The AG has opined however, that those type weapons, to be consistent with federal law, are legal for ownership by those who are prohibited from owning firearms under TCA, so that is in keeping with the ever gray nature of TN weapons law. And to further muddy the waters, there are still lots of towns which have the municipal/country law on the books that all firearms are illegal to carry, except Army and Navy pistols, carried in the hand. The same law that Belle Meade repealed because of Kwik. - OS

Just a note. You probably have the term mixed up with the standard polymer stock on the basic carbine. The boat paddle stock hasn't been on a 10/22 for maybe 10 years or so, and wasn't made all that long. Matter of fact. they're worth ~ $65-100 just for the stock. boat paddle type: standard carbine w/ polymer stock: - OS

Are things really that bad?
Oh Shoot replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Bad as the economy is, I don't even necessarily have faith that 4, or even 8 years of a Romney admin will help. But it's not the main reason I want Hussein out. There probably aren't 5% of voters that feel this way, though. - OS
