  1. Oh my, so sorry this has progressed to where it is. The first time I met him, only 5-6 years ago, never even knew he had a serious disease at all. I'll kick in some bucks, least I can do, and hope this endeavor catches fire for him. http://repairingjack.com if you want to go straight there. - OS
  2. Prob is that they don't prosecute that, but the ATF apparently is still happy to. - OS
  3. I've never seen one on Fox News, and a search shows apparently nobody else has either? They did apparently have a story on Glock at one time, but wouldn't think it would have been run during election night. Here's the print verson on it: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2015/11/19/glock-unveils-tiny-pistol-that-is-easy-to-hide.html - OS
  4. Hey, it's legal in TN to make your own silencer (or SBR/SBS/AOW) without a stamp too, but it's funny how the Feds don't agree. - OS
  5. Reality seldom jives with screen writing. As far as Negan himself, really with Negan taking folks' wives and whatnot, and the general uber debasement and humiliation of his leadership cadre, c'mon. Somebody long ago would just have said "screw it" and blown his head off, just human nature that at some point rage would make someone care less about his own survival and take revenge. Happens all the time in our real world now. I figger Daryl will appear to capitulate, become a lieutenant and organize a little revolution, turn the group ethos around so that the Saviors don't all have to be killed en masse. - OS
  6. They weren't gone but for a month or two in the two stores I ever frequent, one in Knox and one in Nooga. - OS
  7. Correct. And no different for a "gift" instead of "sale". They are both "transfers", and that's what counts. Correct. And it can be by intestate succession too, meaning not specified in a will. Sure, nothing wrong with that. No different than buying a handgun online from or in person at any out of state vendor. You pay the money up front and the vendor ships the firearm to your FFL. It's not a "transfer" until the recipient takes possession and leaves with it. - OS
  8. True with long guns. Can be done through FFL in any state actually, as long as doesn't violate law of the state in which the transfer occurs, or the laws of either the transferer or transferee. But as you mention, no FFL is required to do it. But handguns and "other firearms" (receivers, PGO shotguns, whatever), can only be transferred by FFL in state of the recipient. - OS
  9. 2015 legislative session. Whole new statute added to the Employer/Employee section of TCA: 50-1-312. Adverse employment action for transporting or storing firearm or ammunition in employer parking area prohibited -- Cause of action. (a) For the purposes of this section: (1) "Employee" means a natural person who performs services for an employer for valuable consideration and who possesses a valid handgun carry permit recognized in this state; and (2) "Employer" means a person, association, or legal or commercial entity receiving services from an employee and, in return, giving compensation of any kind to the employee. (b) (1) (A) No employer shall discharge or take any adverse employment action against an employee solely for transporting or storing a firearm or firearm ammunition in an employer parking area in a manner consistent with § 39-17-1313(a). (B) An employee discharged, or subject to an adverse employment action, in violation of subdivision (b)(1)(A) shall have a cause of action against the employer to enjoin future acts in violation of this section and to recover economic damages plus reasonable attorney fees and costs. (C) Any action brought under this section shall be filed in the chancery or circuit court having jurisdiction in the county where the alleged violation of subdivision (b)(1)(A) occurred. (2) In any action brought pursuant to this section, the employee shall have the burden of establishing a prima facie case of discharge, or adverse employment action, based solely on the employee's transporting or storing a firearm or firearm ammunition in the employer's parking area in a manner consistent with § 39-17-1313(a). If the employee satisfies this burden, the burden shall then be on the employer to produce evidence that one (1) or more legitimate reasons existed for the employee's discharge or adverse employment action. The burden on the employer is one of production and not persuasion. If the employer produces such evidence, the presumption of discharge, or adverse employment action, raised by the employee's prima facie case is rebutted, and the burden shifts to the employee to demonstrate that the reason given by the employer was not the true reason for the employee's discharge, or adverse employment action, and that the stated reason was a pretext for discharge or adverse employment action. The allocations of burdens of proof set out in this subdivision (b)(2) shall apply at all stages of the proceedings, including motions for summary judgment. The employee at all times retains the burden of persuading the trier of fact that the employee has been the victim of discharge, or adverse employment action, based solely on the employee's adherence with § 39-17-1313(a). (3) The employee has one (1) year from the date of termination of employment, or the date of adverse employment action, to file an action pursuant to this section. (c) The presence of a firearm or ammunition within an employer's parking area in accordance with § 39-17-1313 does not by itself constitute a failure by the employer to provide a safe workplace. (d) Except as otherwise provided in § 39-17-1313 for parking areas, nothing in this section shall be construed as prohibiting an employer from prohibiting firearms or firearm ammunition on the premises of the employer.
  10. Add more gun mistakes to the list: Carl has Beretta 92 or M9, whichever. We hear what turns out to be warning shot, then cuts to Carl cocking hammer manually to further threaten the guy. It would of course already have been cocked by the first shot. Also, when Negan pulls a semi auto pistol out of the stash and shoots the window, the casing that hits the pavement is clearly rimmed, looked like .357. Now, I didn't get a good enough look at the heater to say, but unless that is a rare Coonan or something, which judging by their track record wouldn't seem like something the writers would even know, that's another muff. Then, for the trifecta, Rosita picks that same rimmed casing off the ground to take to Eugene to "make me a bullet", for the semi auto she recovered. - OS
  11. Since this bill will have to be reintroduced in the new congress, I imagine the date will be changed. The October 22, 2015 is when this one was first submitted, which will remain dead in the current congress. - OS
  12. As I understand it, that was done by Presidential Order, yes? Couldn't even the Chinese embargo be undone without Congressional action? - OS
  13. Standard carbine tube/buffer/spring should work fine with most all rifle length gas barrels (I did this on one temporarily). Standard rifle tube/buffer/spring should work fine with most all carbine or mid-length gas barrels. (I have a mid-length this way). Only reason I say "most" is because gas port size can vary quite a bit between manufacturers, even with same manufacturer in different runs, so there's always a possibility of needing to be tweaked, which is same with most any AR rifle config though. - OS
  14. TN also says you have to have a permit to keep that loaded pistol in your car in posted lots, school property, or places previously banned by employer policy. Because it wants as few people with guns on its property as possible I guess. And like the state, perceives folks with permits to be more responsible than the general gun packer. - OS
  15. Really crappy vid of me shooting some left over from the sixties, sound didn't even sync, short takes is that half of them either "flamed" or went "pfft".
  16. Except for some sort of police managed range in Loudon which I've never gotten the exact dope on, there is to my knowledge only ORSA, John Sever, Norris, and Moose Club outdoor ranges in the area. I don't know how far in other directions you have to go from your location to find one, though there's a club in Athens I've never seen and a great one in Cleveland which I have. - OS
  17. As it says, " Max file size 2MB", Max total size 8.12MB (all files in your TGO stash, which has actually been expanded a bit for benefactors now). Set camera for lower rez image or use puter imaging program to resample/resize existing pic and save as smaller image. Here's probably the best freebie: http://www.irfanview.com/ Or use photo hosting service like Photo Bucket for link to it. Also, use Feedback and Support forum for questions of this nature, where you would also find this pinned notice: - OS
  18. Correct, it doesn't remove silencer classification as "firearm". - OS
  19. Too technical, you have to know something about guns. They don't fit in revos either. - OS
  20. They check with FBI about the background check thing? Or is this just gonna be run by Kali system of some sort? Meaning, they won't run a background check for me or my biz just because I'm selling ammo. - OS
  21. Very simple short bill. Only thing that changes is that silencer is removed from NFA tax code and simply treated like any other long gun according to federal law. It remains a firearm. Does go one step farther though and removes any record keeping on state level for them, which may be a bit of a reach regarding 10A considerations, since no such limitation has ever been placed on state gun registries for other type firearms. - OS
  22. No, it can't. 114th Congress ends on Jan. 3, 2017. Bills do not "carry over" to a new Congress, or a new President after the Congress ends -- must be resubmitted through the process. - OS
  23. What has changed? Would still wind up on BHO's desk, not Trump's. Bill needs to be refiled for the next Congress. Better, simply revise NFA, and remove both silencers and SBR at the least. - OS
  24. I don't even understand the premise of the "contacts". So, there's about 30 names there or so, about half "available" and half "away". Why are those particular names even there out of all the members of the forum? - OS
  25. Well, a TN gun law does allow you to sue for reparations for the gun in parking lot thing. If you can prove it to court's satisfaction. - OS
