I think it is where New Hampshire has those towns that do midnight voting. And They have like 10 voters, all of which have voted.
I didn't know it was even legal to release any results for public dissemiantion until the polls closed, but you're right, so I guess it is: http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-campaign/first-votes-tallied-in-two-n-h-villages-20121106 - OS
This may be a good site to watch... http://www.politico....President/2012/
How/why is ongoing tally already posted for New Hampshire? - OS

Lol, my mother voted early. First time ever. Why? Because she's 87 and by gawd wanted to make sure she didn't miss her chance to vote against Obama! - OS

So I took the Hangun Carry Permit Class.....
Oh Shoot replied to Newman's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Glad to hear it.. People who dont know better get taken by assclowns like that .Sad that now even these places become a place to scam people.. Is that a felony or will he get off with smack on the hand?
Basically seems over $500 is felony, actual amount determines the level of felony, from E up to B. I would hope the amount is based cumulatively on total volume of scam, and not per individual client, and if Newman is right, sounds like it will be --although a whole bunch of Class A misdemeanors would work fine if forced to serve consecutively, could actually be quite a bit worse in stir wise. - OS -
If voting by e-mail or fax works for New Jersey residents because of Hurricane Sandy, why wouldn't it work for our military? At least the ones who have Internet access..
Because if it's set up in a hurry it's almost guaranteed to be FUBAR'd in some way, security or verification wise. - OS
...Remember, that regardless of who you plan to vote for today, American soldiers have bled and died to give you that privilege.
I wonder how many of those soldiers won't get their vote counted this year. - OS

What will you do on the day after tomorrow?
Oh Shoot replied to Links2k's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I expect the president will not be elected until at least "tomorrow". Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have one elected for a month, like in 2000. I'm on jury duty, won't know till after 5 whether I have to get up early tomorrow or not. If not, I'll probably stay up most of the night or more. If Mitt wins, I'll gladly eat all the crow I can and also watch more of MSNBC the next day or three just for sweet "revenge". - OS -
I absolutely agree with this. As stated in other threads, it's illegal to carry a loaded gun in TN but an HCP is a defense to that. This clearly violates our State Constitution where it says "That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime." They have actually created a crime, not prevented one, by making it illegal to carry a loaded weapon in Tennessee. Most, if not all laws, regarding the wearing of arms in Tennessee, by their very nature, violate our State Constitution. Any Judge that wouldn't rule them unconstitutional isn't fit to sit on the bench imho.
Has been my contention also. Any constitutional challenge would surely logically hinge on whether the HCP system does indeed "prevent crime". And of course there can be no data to prove that it does. To assert that it does is an emotional knee jerk argument only. And yes, most of the weapons statutes do indeed create a crime where none would exist otherwise, that's simply irrefutable. Unlawful possession/carry, school possession/carry, posting statute, etc. To paraphrase Ayn Rand, this is an example of controlling the citizenry by arbitrarily making them criminals. - OS
Again, seeing how amped up this site gets about state's rights I do not understand why FEMA is the answer to everything.
Well, as long as its existence is mandated and paid for with taxes, seems it should be at least as competent and efficient as the Red Cross and Salvation Army. Or just give the tax money to them and nuke the damn agency entirely. - OS
True; at least as far as I know, he didn't break any laws and should be in jail for 20 years. ....
Did you leave out a "not" or are you joining the Gestapo also? - OS

A Last Minute Appeal To Libertarians And Non-Voters
Oh Shoot replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
....As I understand it, the Senate was supposed to be less subject to the whims of the public...more deliberative...maybe if they were appointed that would be the case but I suppose I'm just cynical enough to believe it would be just as bad as it is now no matter how the senators got there.
Oh, I would imagine we'd tend to have fewer wanna be political rock stars and more bland, functional, worker bee type senators. Maybe even fewer career pols in both House and Senate. But we'll never know, I guess. - OS -
So who thinks Obama should be re-elected?
Oh Shoot replied to TNMP40's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
.... We will see in another four years.
You'll have to evaluate either of their legacies over the next 20 or more. Likely 3 SCOTUS justices and a passel of other federal judicial appointments. Not to mention ObamaCare if it is fully implemented. - OS -
That jerkwad is really wanting to see his name in print or face on tv. So who thinks Obama should be re-elected?

What a screwy poll. One might logically agree with 1 and 2, or 2 and 3. - OS -
A Last Minute Appeal To Libertarians And Non-Voters
Oh Shoot replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Not to get off topic but even though I've asked the question of proponents of repeal of the (I believe) 17th amendment, no one has been able to demonstrate to me that the legislature of each sate choosing its senators would provide "better" senators than we have gotten by electing them.
The idea is that if your rep (who is the most local federal pol you have) had to answer to his constituency for everything, things would more likely be done according to the pervading will of that constituency, including choices of senators and the presidency/veep. And people would likely tend to be more involved than they are now, since there would be one point for input. - OS -
A Last Minute Appeal To Libertarians And Non-Voters
Oh Shoot replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
.....Watching past elections I believe local elections are where you change the direction, not in national elections.
The US Constitution agrees. That's why it only stipulated that people voted for their area representative. Not senators or even president. The American Idol method of choosing the president has become an abomination. We'd do well with going back to what the constitution intended, which was to become more involved with politics by holding local reps' feet to the fire about everything in Washington. Including choosing the prez. - OS -
Wow that guy is amazing, just read one of his posts that he painted the tip of that ak-47 "pistol" red so it looked like a toy gun and no one would shoot at him. And that he wanted to carry it around as a defensive weapon with extra magazines. Can anyone give a short run-down on what exactly that case is trying to accomplish that is being sent to the supreme court? I can't understand exactly what it's about
Still the Radnor Lake incident, that his rights were violated. He's petitioning for a review of the last court's decision. Here's a summary: http://www.mysananto...p#ixzz2B59Rgtyh I would have thought that his suit over the HCP constitutionality would have had more legs, but he didn't pursue that one. - OS
The police will not take it during the stop but if you don't have proof of insurance at court your license will be revoked. There is also some heavy fines as well. Also it is not up to the judge it's a requirement.
Yeah, that's what I meant, not take it on the spot. Is it same if you've been involved in an accident, still don't lose it till you go to court and not be able to show proof of insurance at that time? - OS
They don't do that in TN? Every state I've lived in, before now, takes your car if you're driving uninsured.
AFAIK, if you've been in a wreck uninsured, TN takes your license, but not the car. Not even sure they take the license unless you've been in a wreck, like if you can't show proof during a traffic stop? - OS
.......seeing them getting picked off is making it hard for me to keep following the show.
I have the opposite reaction. Departing from the "good guy always wins" convention makes it more tense, and emphasizes just how dangerous a world like that would be. More "realistic" drama which overrides a good bit of the inherent unrealistic premise in the first place. Since anyone seems to be fair game for croaking, it makes the whole thing a bit more unsettling. - OS
Where is the FEMA is a failure for it's sandy response coming from? What do you perceive FEMA's role in this to be?
As Rudy G. paints it, main failure was total failure to prepare ahead of time. No staging of essential disaster supplies anywhere along the NE coast. The first FEMA water is only now getting to Staten Island, for example. It's not like Sandy was a surprise out of the blue. - OS

They're gonna need more folks quite soon, seems to moi. I guess the new black inmate will fit in, but they're down one and now with a one legged man and a baby. Doubt if the sniveler inmate will be around long.
