I paid for a year, but where do you find when your year is up? Does it show in my profile anywhere?
In TGO Store, under what you've purchased. You can also get there through your profile under Client Area. - OS -
Has the photo size maximum been lowered?
Oh Shoot replied to 221 Fireball's topic in Feedback and Support
That was is it. I just start going back to old posts and deleting one at a time...takes awhile, but that's ok. I can't delete old posts that have been locked though. But I think I can get enough of the older stuff deleted to post some new photos. Thanks OS and Daniel!
I found the easy way. It's under My Settings/Manage Attachments in your account profile, sent you PM in case you see that first. If I ever sold anything, I'd have known that, sorry. - OS -
Ah ha...now how do you do that? Here's what I keep getting...actually pasted from the page... You can upload up to 49.79K of files (Max. single file size: 49.79K)
Says that because you need to delete some pix, Daniel was right. I know because mine says "You can upload up to 4.97MB of files (Max. single file size: 2MB)". So it obviously keeps a running total. Since I've never posted an ad since the software changed, don't know how to tell you to delete them, but until you figure it out, you can simply link pix to your ISP storage, or PhotoBucket, whatever, just like in the rest of the forum. [s](Maybe you have to just go and edit each ad and delete pix, but I'll bet there's a dialogue somewhere that shows all your uploaded files? - Hopefully someone will pop in and comment)[/s] edit: found it, It's under My Settings/Manage Attachments in your account profile. - OS -
I am not familiar with Bills. Can you provide more info?
http://www.billsoutpost.com/ Actually had a store right there in Farragut for a while too, but it didn't go for some reason, closed it after a short while. I recommend it highly. - OS

Renew and Duplicate Permit
Oh Shoot replied to tarheelbball's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm assuming you both have the new style ID's. My first/original HCP had no numbers other than my drivers licence number/permit #. My duplicate HCP (which is the new style) however has the permit number and a different number above my name. So that number above your name is the same on both HCP ID's?
Me? No, one ends in 3150 and the other in 2281. 16 digit number, all same except last four. Whatever that means. Otherwise identical, neither says "orig" or "duplicate". Now that I have them both in hand, can't even tell which one I've been carrying. It doesn't matter, though, cause they're both good. Both received at same time, which is not possible with a TN Driver's License. - OS -

Renew and Duplicate Permit
Oh Shoot replied to tarheelbball's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I received my permit and the duplicate at the exact same time. If the dup invalidates the original, I don't think they would have sent them together. Besides, they both have the exact same #'s and exp. dates on them.
Yeah, I did the same this time around. There really isn't a "duplicate" TN DL, even though they use the term a time or two on TNDOS site -- it's a replacement for a lost one, so it may well invalidate the original one, with bar coding on the back, since you are only supposed to have one DL. But such is not the case with an HCP, a duplicate is just a spare, and you can get it at same time as you receive your first one, renewed one, or at any time with a separate application. - OS -
Has the photo size maximum been lowered?
Oh Shoot replied to 221 Fireball's topic in Feedback and Support
This may solve your problem. You have a max cumulative allotment. I am guessing you need to remove old photos to make space.
Aha and eureka, bet that's it, good catch. - OS -
Too much science OS for this non computer guy...but yes, I was wanting to post a photo on classifieds. It let me post them a couple weeks back...same camera, same card, but now some photos off the same camera card are not loading, saying file too big. I've messed with it and still can't figure out how to get them 'small enough' to load them onto the TGO classifieds.
WHAT is telling you they are too big? The TGO Trading Post interface? I've never uploaded pix to the Trading Post (probably would just link them instead anyway) so I don't know what the actual size limit is, if there is one, but it sure ain't 360 x 504 pixels, which is what your images purport to be. Sure there isn't some user error going on there about actual size of your images? They are really less than 1k in size? (and btw, an image that small would be pretty ineffective on the 1200-1600 and higher monitors folks are using these days). As I said, there are quite large images in the trading post ads actually uploaded onto TGO, not just linked. Just glancing there, here is ad that uses 1,195px × 1,600px images, well over 100k JPEG. Proving that government is almost always doing badly what need not be done at all, the newest economic failure is the student loan debacle. Outstanding debt is almost a trillion smackers, and default rate is ever climbing. And of course, the Fed has pretty much nationalized that part of the banking industry. Talk of bailout and/or amnesty. Of course, that would be your money. And China's, of course., Pretty good perspective below: Student loan bailout would consume 62% of new Obama taxes http://washingtonexaminer.com/student-loan-bailout-would-consume-62-of-new-obama-taxes/article/2514764#.UL0Td6z5Wvk - OS

Has the photo size maximum been lowered?
Oh Shoot replied to 221 Fireball's topic in Feedback and Support
I see its at 49K. I've cut my photos down to 4x6 at 72 res but that still only reduces them to 55K and I can't post them. I have posted before from this same camera for the past six months but now it doesn't take them. Any ideas?
Do you mean linked photos? They are sized down for view in the discussion thread but you click on them they show as real size. Also, just perused Trading Post, where images can be actually uploaded to TGO, and see the same thing, see images over 100k, looking at one that's 1195 x 1600 pixels. Ah, just thought, perhaps you are trying to upload photos to regular discussion threads? If so, that can't be done period, must be linked. Btw, [quick imaging factoid] "inches at x ppi" only has meaning to printers, monitors understand pixel dimensions only, so a "5x7" at 72 res" is 360x504 pixels and monitors only understand pixels. The physical size of the image on screen is determined by the pixel resolution any given monitor is running and the physical size of that monitor. So given same size monitor and same image, the higher the monitor rez the smaller the image on screen, the lower the monitor rez the larger the image is on screen. [/quick imaging factoid] - OS -

You can post a link to one on PB, but your operating system will just fire up whatever utility you have on the system for playing it, or give a dialogue asking what program to open it with. Plus it will have to download whole file first to open it. Video streaming sites have their own built in "streaming player" and also starts the vid before whole file is downloaded, too. PhotoBucket, or generally one's ISP file storage, doesn't work that way. But some webhosters for your own domain include the playing/streaming capability. Here's from my Comcast account, doesn't stream/play: http://routedriver.h...ateDogTease.mp4 Here's same file from my webhosting account for my domain, which does stream/play (although it opens in a new window, doesn't play inside the TGO screen): http://macmcdougald....e Dog Tease.mp4 Cute vid, btw, if you've never seen it. - OS
What is a good inexpensive holster for a Ruger Blackhawk in 4 5/8" barrel? I don't really want a western style, but I would like leather. I'd like to keep it around $30 if possible.
Hunter or Triple K. Ruger sells a Triple K with logo for it, but it's $42 and out of stock right now. If you register a Ruger gun onsite, no matter when you got it, you get a web coupon for 20% off in the Ruger Store. http://shopruger.com...ductinfo/84184/ Look on Sportsman's Guide and CTD for various cowboy gun holsters, too. Likely at next gunshow you can get a 15-20 buck nylon one that "might suffice" from the lady that runs the booth near the door who sells all the cheap holsters, gun cases, webbing and whatnot. - OS
I have no idea why I can't make pictures work on TGO
URL for pic you posted makes no sense - where does the pic live? Must be linked to internet reachable storage somewhere, like at your ISP, webhoster, or other service site like PhotoBucket or similar. http://www.tngunowne...-post-pictures/ And btw, TIFF images are rather problematic for web browsers, generally takes Quicktime add on or some such to read them, plus they are uncompressed and much larger than same size JPEG or PNG. - OS
