Seems clear to me it denotes a separate magazine location apart from the pistol grip, to ban those type firearms period. Like AR and AK pistols, Kel-Tec PLRs, etc, any they forgot to name specifically or any that may be made later. The hi-cap magazine ban part will suffice for any +10 round mags that go into pistol grips, for rifle or handgun. One bans the weapons themselves, the other "only" the type of mags. And no rocket launchers either, as that's been a big problem for a long time now. - OS

I doubt if a bill submitted to committee has passed as first written even its own chamber in the last hundred years, so we'll see what "it" actually turns into before it gets out of the Senate. If it does get out. I don't believe that all the Dem senators will be in lock step on this one; I'd posit that plenty in both parties there are dreading addressing anything truly significant as to banning any firearms. - OS

I avoid large Irish leprechauns in dark alleys too, especially if they've been drinking! ;) - OS

"We the people will not comply."

His chest. John Hurt. At least the first one. - OS -
This is the only thing I've found that works well and quickly on lead fouling in a rifled bore, too. Dolomite showed me that. Gotta be real copper, and Chore Boy is the only one I know that actually is. - OS

It was pretty "normal" today. Probably since the craze items were mostly fulfilled Fri and Sat. Saw good number of older ARs that vendors were scaring up from somewhere, probably stuff they hadn't even been showing during normal times. Lots of mags still, lowest priced new Pmags were at $30. Hi-cap handgun mags seemed to have bumped up too, but not doubled or more for the most part, except for the happy sticks. Asked maybe a dozen folks walking around with ARs, nobody said less than $1500, most $2K and up, 'cept for one feller outside as we were leaving had an uber deadly actual Bushmaster he'd lowered to $1250. - OS

I see your first thread at 1:13pm, "Need a GOOD graphic designer in Middle Tn...." says "Im looking for a great local graphic designer." This thread at 2:01pm, has dropped the "GOOD" in title and the "great" in description has changed to "good". Just thought I'd pre-apply for when you get to "average" and "anywhere in Tn". ;) - OS

Enjoyed that immensely, thnx.

I'd just puke and then freeze. Other than that I'd be ok. - OS

Man Recovering After Being Shot Over An iPhone
Oh Shoot replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"Man Recovering After Being Shot Over An iPhone" I call BS -- there ain't no way to get that bullet from your gun into somebody's iPhone, there ain't even any wires for it go through. - OS -
They're on the ban list too. Mini30's aren't, so they'll probably start going at $5K. Me and Mike.357 will be over there tomorrow, we'll pop by and say howdy unless they're 3 deep at your place. - OS

WE MUST STAND UP FOR OUR FREEDOM!! Watch and Write!
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is probably gonna be a long haul type thing. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it won't be till May or June before there's real focus on this House, at least to whatever degree of focus this entails there, which will have to be prodded by their constituencies, not the Senate. I think budgetary stuff is gonna be center stage for a while, and they haven't even touched on raising the debt limit, which may make last year's battle look like a warmup. And even a spring/summer focus is dependent on a lack of Other Bad Things that may rear their heads. There's a bunch of enviro regs gonna cut in among other things, and if the employment rate hits 9 or above, as I'm expecting, I'm thinking there's gonna be more legislative fires to tend to before this too. Point is, I certainly don't think we shouldn't hit 'em hard right now, but I think it's mainly to plant opposition in the back of their little pol minds -- when any real negotiations of a real bill occurs, that's when the rubber will really need to hit the road. Looks like the main impetus will have to come out of the Senate first, so keep your eyes peeled there. If they can't actually pass something, we (and the House too!) will probably be able to have a big sigh of relief. - OS -
One was limp torso-ing it. ;) - OS

"It's spreading like wildfire!" "It IS a wildfire!" Best part. What was the story on that? Tracers? - OS

Doesn't matter what the lower is marked. Some used to say "multi", some "pistol", saw 6.8AR's today said "custom pistol" or something like that. There are only 3 checkboxes on type of firearm on 4473, "handgun", "long gun", "other firearm". Lower, even a built one, is "other firearm". Then at end there is section that FFL writes in, where it is supposed to be "receiver", but the 3 checkboxes are he most important part. A receiver is never supposed to be transferred as "handgun" or "long gun". Only if there is indeed a pistol or rifle upper on it at the time of transfer, then it is indeed a "hand gun" or "long gun". A receiver you configure first as a pistol can go back and forth from pistol to rifle to pistol, and indeed even a "firearm", too (that's another story). A receiver you configure first as a rifle must stay a rifle, or a SBR with stamp. And yes, only you know what you first did with a lower, but that's the law. - OS

Pachmayr Decelerator. Highly recommended for us wimps.

I did it with a .50BMG! (but it just barely got me on bridge of nose). Btw, some folks say a .30-30 lever doesn't kick much. I put a slip-on nancy pad on mine and I don't care who knows it, obviously. :) - OS

I chortled before I even saw David's response.

If you don't have lower parts kit yet, I recommend CMMG, about same price as most of the mainstream ones, but has the parts separated into colored bags, so you don't have to match up the springs and pins and whatnot on some picture or chart to know which goes where. That along with a YouTube vid or two as you work makes first time lower assembly piece of cake. I used this one, two parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA_Vkb2UB1w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq4KfUaVp8M - OS

I think that's an error in the HTML or DHTML or whatever code, "20" or "%20" often appears as a space when it doesn't parse correctly. They got about 12 of my firearms on there, including a plain ole pump shotgun because it holds 6 rounds instead of 5, and one of my 10/22's with a folding stock. Ruger Mini owners, the ones who have avoided the EBR, are out of luck too. Oddly, they left out the Mini30, pretty hard to get already, but I guess it will go for $5K now. - OS
