  1.   Well, this one was first, and has misleading title, too, so that's always a plus. ;)   - OS
  2.   Seek in the appropriate places and ye shall find thy answer.
  3.   For sure:   http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowAllQuestions&iid=190781941697&requested=alexrex20&redirect=0&frm=2047675&ShowASQAlways=1&ssPageName=PageAskSellerQuestion_VI   One at random:   Q:   Hello, Is this made in the USA of some cheap knock off from China?? A:   It was made in China but due to tectonic plate shifting it ended up in America where it was harvested. This was proudly assembled in the USA.   - OS
  4. Perhaps a record day for dupe threads
  5. All TN HCP classes are handled by private contractors/"freelancers", they are not taught by state employees, if that's what you mean.   Info, contact, applications at:   http://www.tn.gov/safety/handgunmain.shtml   - OS
  6. paraphrase from the other thread by moi:   Did he say,   "I won't support:   a ban on any type firearm   a ban on any type magazine   an end to private sales   a national gun registration"   etc?   No, he didn't.   "appropriate ways to respond" means whatever.   Remember, even Bloomberg and many other antis "strongly support the Second Amendment".   - OS
  7.   I found it sort of remarkable, so I grabbed it.   But guess I could get in trouble posting it off my site or something,  copyright or whatever.   I don't see where it got picked up and posted anywhere else. Yet, anyway.   EDIT: Oh, here it is, shot off somebody's monitor! LOL.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDF2Dh2xIKg   And another, better: this fellow must've grabbed actual vid, too:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiM-ZPuAhJ0   It's the InterWebz, Jimbo, you can't unsay stuff. ;)   - OS
  8.   Well, it doesn't get much more in-your-face than that, I reckon.   "Kind of mad" = "if it goes one inch further I'm going to start killing people", LOL.   - OS
  9. Mods can we merge this thread with:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/57868-lordie-alex-jonespiers-morgan-on-guns/
  10.   Mods, can we merge this thread with:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/57512-responses-from-legislators/
  11. better existing thread:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/57512-responses-from-legislators/   And don't be fooled with these tepid non-specific responses. They have plenty of wiggle room.   - OS
  12. I'm not going to go through and translate the range of what each of these folks could vote for and still be technically within the confines of their responses.   But you'll notice you are not hearing anything specific, like:   "I will not support   ... banning any type of now legal firearm ... banning hi capacity magazines (I mean, clips, sorry) ... changing status of any current firearm to NFA status ... ending all private sales ... creating a national gun registry"   etc.   Remember, the biggest gun grabbers in this nation claim to be strong believers in the Second Amendment. That means absolutely zip to say that.   There are lots of "appropriate ways to respond" as Lamar puts it,  that can cripple our firearm rights, yet not violate 2A. According to them.   Remember there are 537 elected pols in DC and just about every one has the same Job Number One, except the two at the top.  Hopefully enough of them will believe that their primary mission also coincides with no more limitations on 2A.   - OS
  13.   Send one as an anti to same addresses and see if it's the same response. I guess you would. Sounds like a good bit of wiggle room in most of them.   - OS
  14. Until an actual bill comes their way for decision/revision, you won't get any real hard responses regarding details of the finer points of what they'll actually support and what they won't.   Not saying that overwhelming response from one side or the other on issues has no effect, but polling parsed for their constituency and lobbyist money define most pols' conscience, especially Lamar who comes up in '14, and all reps all the time since they run every other year. Job Number One and all, ya know?   - OS
  15.   Why ignore the Senate, where the thing will begin?   And btw, all the Senate Dems will not be in lock step on this one. Some can't be and be sure of Priority Number One, and they know it.   - OS
  16. No, was also an Undercover.38:
  17.   Well, it's well past the "next few days".   - OS
  18.   As I mentioned in another thread to Vontar, I really like the CMMG kits. Each assembly area's parts are in separate color coded bags. Makes things much more idiot-proof even for a highly evolved idiot such as moi.   - OS
  19. While considered a "lesser tier" manufacturer at least after the '70's, overall Charter revolvers have been adequate. My take is that except for some problem years under the "Charco" or "Charter 2000" labelings, they are certainly at least on a par with Taurus and Rossi. Which is to say, I'd buy one at the right price if I needed a model they offered. Actually, I have an old Undercover from the 60's, was maybe the first light allow revolver made in the US. No idea how much was run through it before I got it, but I shot a couple hundred through it, including some .38+p (not recommended on the old ones), all fine. It lives at my mom's last few years now, though: - OS
  20.   Bore down through all this if you have the patience, especially the individual prime time shows. You'll see that MSNBC is consistently second and sometimes first per age group on any given time slot.   http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/category/cable-news/    Regardless of how you may feel personally, CNN is much more the middle ground compared to the other two,  and sucking. Indicative of the polarization nowadays in general. IMO, the country has not been this divided since 1865.   - OS
  21.   Yes. WC is not a federal program.   - OS
  22.   It was on CNN, though MSNBC has gotten just as much mileage from it. CNN and MSNBC combined out-share FOX. However biased you may claim CNN is compared to FOX, they are practically John Birchers compared to MSNBC, and there are plenty of folks of consider themselves "independents" that prefer CNN to all others.   Point is though, these are just the kind of things that do influence opinion polls. Put it this way, have you seen anything on any network that is likely to affect polling more than AJ's appearance?   And by the way, Rachel Maddow has been beating Sean Hannity some lately. If that ain't scary, I don't know what is. - OS
  23.   Viral media, it's getting plenty of mileage everywhere. Just the one "1776" quote is all it takes to stick in the mind.   The pol's own private polling of their districts is how they'll vote. We just don't know the degree to which one flap moves those. Seems quite obvious that any effect would be negative.   - OS
  24. Yeah, a real riot. How many points did we lose on the private polls that will determine how the senators/reps will "vote their conscience" by this buffoon? - OS
  25.   The idea is to win.   You don't do that by using a How  to Lose Friends and Alienate People tactic.   "Gun Appreciation Day" is another bonehead move, on MLK Day long weekend. You know, Martin Luther King. Who was killed. With a rifle.  And day before re-inauguration of our first black president. You'll scream PC foul, but that's nonetheless begging to draw unpleasant battle lines by association.   Larry Ward, the organizer, was on MSNBC today. While not frothing at the mouth like Jones, he was totally unprepared and impotent. Looked like an ignorant doofus. He couldn't get an free internship in the worst PR agency in the country. Lapierre ain't exactly charismatic either, for that matter.   2A advocates are killing themselves PR wise -- we don't really need an opponent. What's next, trot out toothless drooling hillbillies as symbol of gun rights? Might as well.   - OS
