  1.   Well, gotta admit I prefer cronies like Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Mossberg, Bushmaster, Windham, Marlin, Winchester, Remington, etc etc etc. ;)   - OS
  2.   Sadly true.   Only in TN does a Republican super-majority equate to at best a Blue Dog Democrat one on many issues.   - OS
  3.   That's pretty much my policy too. My bucks are pretty much apolitical.   Wally can belong to Bloomberg's bunch or donate to Planned Parenthood, whatever. Sort of a "what they say" as opposed to "what they do" -- includes politicians, too.   I'll "vote" for firearms freedom by buying guns and ammo from Wally, and the cheaper the better. As long as firearm companies are willing to sell to them, I'm willing to buy from them.   And yep, I'll still buy something from CTD if it's far and away the best price. I believe free capitalism promotes more freedom than most any other ism.   - OS
  4.   Yep, I didn't bother, since from what I've read, you're likely to get same range of answers you would from your local manager -- you know, that kid that always is privy to all the deepest corporate thinking from Bentonville. The 800 number is supposed to be "corporate", but sounds like may be farmed out to a "help center", folks are getting "reps" from all over, not at headquarters. Anyway, seems obvious to me that only a few suits in Bentonville know the real skinny, if indeed there's any actual skinny to be told.   But it doesn't much matter, as I said, we'll know the score soon -- either there will be new ammo hitting the stores or there won't.   - OS
  5.   Couple of threads over at SurvivalistBoards, everything in the world being said as usual.   Two different employees say it's 2 weeks until end of their fiscal year, can't even order register tape.   Stuff like that. We'll see.   - OS
  6.   I should have read further...sorry.   Maybe I'll call 'em tomorrow, for yucks.   - OS
  7.   Well, some blogger in some state got it from some local manager, so I guess it's pretty definitive. ;)   - OS
  8.   It has been "reported" here or another forum, forget which, that they've stop letting individual stores order ammo until supply returns. Each store will just get whatever allocation they'd normally get proportional to sale volume history. That the individual ordering was just making overall supply more spotty.   Whether that's the case or not, we'll see. Either there will be ammo hitting the stores, or there won't -- should be pretty obvious in pretty short order.   - OS
  9. Okay, no more ammo at Walmart.   So, please, all you Knoxville area folks please don't even look there for any.   As a public service, I will periodically stop in there and check to see if the rumor is true.   - OS
  10.   I see you didn't notice the last presidential election, or pay much attention to national polls.   Just because CNN is way left of you and your peer group doesn't mean it's not pretty much statistically in the center as per overall population.   Again, chain yourself to a few prime time nights in front of MSNBC. That's the left nowadays.   - OS
  11.     Did they really write "looses"?
  12.   Coleman fuel, white gas, kerosene, batteries, candles.   Plenty of time to read after The Meltdown -- in between trying to keep fed, warm, hydrated, and battling the zed hordes, of course.   - OS
  13.   Yeah, meant to mention, as long as pin holds buffer back well enough to open the rifle, doesn't matter. Was mainly curious about the specs, since none of mine will do that.   - OS
  14. Put buffer in another of your ARs. Wondering if it could be out of spec retaining pin rather than the buffer.
  15. If grounds are posted, presumably the buildings are included, as I understand it. ?? If grounds aren't posted, buildings would have to posted separately, yes? - OS
  16. Are the grounds posted?
  17. +1
  18. See no one has responded.   Can only tell you that I have one round buffer and two ( both UTG kits) with the 3 sided buffers.   The UTG ones are certainly closer to sliding by the pin with a flat side aligned with it, but can't quite make them do it without depressing it.   So have no real definitive advice there. Have you actually shot the thing? Does it reliably perform?   I only got into ARs about a year ago, and when I first noticed a three sided one instead of round one that came on my first rifle, my first thought was, "why"?   - OS
  19.   You have to call Al Gore for access, and your computer has to run off solar cells.   - OS
  20.   Makes sense to me. It's not like any of these places actually want to make a profit or anything. Right.   - OS
  21. Did you know you can look stuff up on the internet?
  22.   Or like me,  at least for posteriority.
  23.   Some professions require a TN state business license, but selling ammo isn't one.   All counties and most cities "require" a business license for many businesses (requirements vary), and certainly most are enforced laxly if at all, unless you show up somehow or other with separate physical presence,  zoning database, high sales gross, whatever.   Maybe that pawn shop got stung for selling ammo without TN tax stamp on it or something, who knows. If you buy ammo directly from a retailer out of state or a wholesaler instate and resale it without purchasing the tax stamps, that's of course a no no.   - OS
