  1. Wonder what the blue one underneath it is?   No luck trying to blow up and enhance pic.     - OS
  2.   Was CTD selling guns in 2010? I can't remember when they started. That's when Nancy Lanza got the Bushie, according to one story I found. It also had to be CT compliant, couldn't be totally standard AR config, even after 2004.   Can't find a source for where she bought it, though. She bought at least of the guns he had on him in East Windsor, CT though. Can't find which one, although it was reported that the shop owner said "he was saddened that a gun sold at the store was used in the Newtown massacre."   - OS
  3.   They're part of the American public whose intelligence can not be underestimated, I'd say.   Actually, to be fair, I've bought stuff from CTD after the last panic and probably will again. Matter of fact bought a double rifle case from them for xmas, before Newtown.   My bucks are amoral, for the most part,  they go to where I can get the best deal. I figure capitalism is the best ism of all.   Individual responsibility includes buying habits too -- i's up to each person whether he's gonna let someone rip him off or not.   - OS
  4.   Yep. Enough will. I don't have access to their books but if it had hurt them after 2007-9 they wouldn't have done it again.   "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public".    - OS
  5. Doesn't perhaps answer every little nuance of every situation, and doesn't address putting one down after you hit it, but TCA says:   70-4-115.  Destruction and disposal of wildlife -- Permit -- Penalty.   ( c ) Motorists are not required to report game accidentally killed by the operation of a motor vehicle. Notwithstanding any other provision of the law to the contrary, wild animals accidentally killed by a motor vehicle may be possessed by any person for personal use and consumption; except that, first, personal possession of a deer accidentally killed by a motor vehicle is permitted only if the person notifies the wildlife resources agency or any law enforcement officer within a reasonable time not to exceed forty-eight (48) hours and supplies that person's name and address; and second, personal possession of a bear accidentally killed by a motor vehicle is permitted only when authorized by an enforcement officer of the wildlife resources agency and the person is issued a kill tag. In deer-kill notification situations where a law enforcement officer rather than someone with the wildlife resources agency is notified, the law enforcement officer or the officer's designee shall be responsible for notifying someone with the wildlife resources agency and supplying the information relevant to the deer-kill. Nothing in this section authorizes possession of federally protected wildlife or wildlife protected by the state under chapter 8 of this title.   -----------   And from http://www.tn.gov/twra/faqmain.html   I've just hit a deer. What do I do? Who is responsible for the damage to my vehicle? All big game found dead should be left where found and need not be reported. If you are concerned about the dead deer on the state road, you can call the State Highway Department. If it is on a county road, you may call the County Road Department. Individuals wanting to keep big game found dead must first contact the local Regional TWRA office for authorization. Any vehicle in which an illegally possessed big game animal is found is subject to confiscation. Deer accidentally killed by a motor vehicle may be possessed by any person for personal use and consumption if the TWRA or a local law enforcement agency is notified within 48 hours. You will need to report the incident to your insurance company because the state is not liable for the damages caused by wild animals pursuant to T.C.A. 9-8-307. --------------   I will say that the LEO was right about the paperwork if he discharges his service weapon at all.   I will also say that I met a Knox County officer at range who carried a Cold Steel Recon Scout just for the purpose of finishing off wounded animals on the road.   -  OS
  6.   I can only give my own anecdotal testimony on that....but the last two times I bought a gun from FFL where they still called it in, and I was standing right there during the call,  the only information given I can remember was type of gun, like "rifle" or "long gun".   One was from Dick's and one was from Walmart, they were both rifles, I can't remember if they specified the manufacturer, but sure seems they didn't give the serial number. I'll be the first to admit my memory is not infallible, though.   On the other hand, I've seen it said that the stolen weapon database is consulted (either on TN or fed level or both) for every check, and of course this couldn't be done without the serial number.   So I dunno for sure. I think we need to hear from an FFL or two on this one.   - OS
  7. Sure, FSB's aren't drilled when you get them as separate part, but never seen any attached to barrel from manufacturer that weren't pinned. Looking at the CMMG barrels onsite there that come with a FSB, they seem to be all pinned, like those from anywhere else: Sounds like gun shop just minimally installed the various parts on it. Can't tell for sure that gas tube is pinned, but looks like it is, need to make sure of that though. Is there a flash hider on it? That'll have to come off too, if you're gonna replace it rather than have it drilled and pinned. - OS
  8.   ???   4473 has section for Manufacturer - Model - Serial Number - Type - Caliber-Gauge. Same for everyone in the US purchasing gun from FFL.   - OS
  9. There's gotta be more to the story -- surely you didn't get that directly from CMMG in that condition?   At any rate, should come off like any other unless it's freaking tack welded or something. Penetrating oil or heating FSB might help but, basically like this, except you don't have to worry about the FSB pins, obviously:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMG3IP2KH6g   - OS
  10.   Have to have federal license to manufacture ammo for sale, for sure.   Selling someone else's non-licensed ammo is same no-no AFAIK.   - OS
  11.   You're outdone yourself, Lester. :)
  12.   Washington shows as personal sales of long guns and hand guns legal, except at gunshows on the opencarry.org maps. They're generally accurate.   I don't know when the ban at gun shows was enacted.   Colorado shows as the only other state where personal transfer of long guns and handguns are legal except at gunshows.   - OS
  13.   Reporting from Dec. 15. Just one of the many preliminary erroneous reports.   So what's the point? Still believe the older brother did it, too, and their father was in the woods, and their mother worked at the school?   - OS
  14.   "Haslam ... wants to find a better balance between the competing claims of gun and property rights."   Translation: sure, pass the law, but companies can opt out.   - OS
  15.   Yep, that was the normal price. You could get 4 packs from Cabela's for even a bit less before the reelection, and probably even up until Sandy Hook.   I have maybe 8 BX-25's, too, $21.99 was most I ever paid.   Butler Creek steel lip 25 rounders were down to $15 after Ruger put out the BX-25, saw the plastic lipped versions for ten clams flat.   - OS
  16.   Walmart has always made their decisions from uber micro-managed spreadsheets in Bentonville. And I'm sure always will.   That, along with their revolutionary distribution system, is the reason for their success.   - OS
  17. I don't remember. Like a lot of other stuff. ;)   Seriously, I guess I found it Googling around about the time I first looked into getting an HCP. Lurked for a good long while before I decided to join and dominate the conversation. :)   - OS
  18.   I'm a movie freak and would really crimp my style  to have to depend on DVD/download options.   - OS
  19.   You beat the curve.
  20.   That's why I edited post to read "subscription media services" rather than TV.   - OS
  21. Worked for me just now. Opening animation was not fast, though.
  22.   Yep, and as long as they are allowed to own some kind of firearm that holds more than one round, I'm pretty sure current SCOTUS will approve. And of course, the future SCOTUS might not even allow that second round.   - OS
  23.   See what I mean? Even half that amount is amazing.
  24. I'd boycott all subscription media services ... except that I simply must have it. :)   - OS
  25.   Ruger factory BX-25? If  so, you could make some real money on GunBroker reselling from that price.   10 rounders are often going for around that.   Since you say "25 or 30's" I suspect those were mostly Butler Creek and Eagle and whatever?   - OS
