  There's no doubt that if for no other reason, the AR platform is simply easier to service than a Mini. It would be used just for that reason even if it were inferior to the Mini in other ways.   However, the Mini was widely used throughout many years by LEA's all over the US, and especially during the first 15 years or more of the AR's evolution and growing pains until the AR became a truly universally standard modular tinker toy, the Mini was real competition. Including full auto Minis.   Indeed, saw quite a few of them still wielded  watching coverage of the rouge California cop shootout just last month.   - OS

  Yeah, depends on ammo, just about always 6" min from 50 to 100.   If you scope the Marlin a decent little trick with .22lr is, zero the scope at 50 yards at center of crosshairs +. . Then on most scopes, use the ^ on the bottom of the vertical crosshair, where it first fattens up to the larger bar width, and you'll be purt close at 100 yards.   But that's all just dandy with open sights, man, and plain to see you're enjoying yourself, too. :)   - OS

  Many, if not most,  normal Magpul products, those on http://Magpul.com,  can only be sold in US due to arms export restrictions.   However, they license use of the name to be used with their PTS (Professional Training and Simulation) division products, seen at http://www.magpul-pts.com,  (mostly used for paintball Airsoft), which may be sold worldwide. These are already lesser quality. Then add the fact that like for many popular products, there are pirate ripoff manufacturers whose products are neither of the above.   You particularly have to careful on eBay.   - OS

You can go to SC and transfer long gun to you at FFL there, or he can bring or ship it to FFL here for the transfer to you.   By  federal law, all firearm sales between residents of different states must be transferred through FFL, and hand guns must be received in the state of the buyer.   - OS

  Definitely PTS or knockoffs. Real Magpul firearm series sights simply don't do that.   If both sights came in one box, that's another sure sign that aren't the mainstream product.   - OS

  Well, you're probably right, as the only way they can really enforce the penalty for not buying insurance is to withhold any tax return money.   Another reason to never loan the government your money interest free for a year.   That's correct as far as it goes.   The additional gray area, in that part of defenses to going armed is:    "Incident to lawful hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, sport shooting or other lawful activity".   Like, does "hiking" count, or must you be hiking in order to fish, or hunt, or trap, or camp? What other "lawful activity" might be included?   Some have opined that the fishing and camping parts specifically are there in relation only for +4" knives, but have never seen a real basis for that based on case law. Would seem to me to have to include all the weapons mentioned in the unlawful carry statute: firearms, +4" knives, and clubs.   Etc. TN weapons law is very gray in many parts.   - OS

Assuming they found the rifle still in the case, and there is indeed a bullet hole through it in the proper place, that would be an ingenious way to murder someone, though you'd have to fire two shots, the second one being through the case.   - OS

  These are already gone again.   What we're commenting on is that PSA has always in the past put a "out of stock" notice from the gitgo on main page, now in the case of some items, you don't get the notice till you try to put it in cart. In the case of lowers with two different options for the safety marking, this is actually two more clicks to find it's out of stock.   - OS
