The Bill of Rights was written for Dzhokar Tsarnaev
Oh Shoot replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in General Chat
So killing 3 people with bomb is the difference? But a US citizen killing 12 folks in a theater with a gun is "just" murder? Would you have charged the kid with terrorism who offed 20 children at Sandy Hook? Certainly, that probably put more fear into the hearts of people nationwide than the Boston bombing. All the victims of the shootings were essentially just as random as those from the bombing, too. Only the location was specifically selected in all cases. Seems to me the only real difference between just murder and "terrorism" would have to be defined by whether the perp was part of some larger organizational plot, which maybe these two bros were, but I kind of doubt it. Just because someone is influenced by politics or religion to commit some twisted crime doesn't mean there's an actual plot that extends beyond their actions. - OS -
TN man who received Obama pardon still can't have guns
Oh Shoot replied to billyscott's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, that's always been the reasoning behind it as I understand it. A pardon isn't the same as being found innocent from original trial, or new trial or appeal. - OS -
Well, it doesn't matter under TN law, if that's what you mean, anything with a blade is a "knife", and it can't be over 4 inches. - OS

And he's not jiving about being named target of Southern Poverty Law Center: http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-files/profiles/michael-brian-vanderboegh#.UXSqd0rz69s - OS -
I tend to attack new interests with vigor ... but fading some now. :) Hard to stay too gung ho when I'm looking toward the end of my shootin' hoard, too, dammit. The .22LR upper will be getting the most workout for a while, that's for sure. - OS

Oh c'mon. I only have four, that's not so bad. ;)

We have never had a federal one. Do you mean in Cali? There, he kick started the Kali anti-gun crusade by banning the carry of loaded weapons on the person or in vehicles state wide, the Mulford Act. It was a knee jerk reaction to the Black Panthers, but of course punished all gun owners equally. - OS

Oopsie, meant to edit, not quote.

Well, he was all for the AWB once he didn't have to sign it himself, so that oughtta be enough to queer his memory with most folks here, but doesn't. Including yourself, I see. :) Dubya was for re-instituting it too, among other things, but never gets flak on gun forums either for some strange reason. - OS

Anywhere that serves it. Just Knoxville, not county. Old College Inn used to be my personal fav. - OS

How is it treason to kill random people? - OS -
People on gun forums don't seem to talk much about his gun control stances, though. - OS

You can buy liquor by the drink here on Sundays, ensuring that desperate alkies have to drink and drive.

It was last call, and i was bringing something home.
Oh Shoot replied to SingleStack's topic in Show and Tell
Btw, you can do private sales at gun shows here, too. Or anywhere, for that matter. -
You need storage on web somewhere and put link to its URL. I just use my ISP's free space (Comcast). Probably most folks use photobucket.com. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56680-faq-how-do-i-post-pictures-here/ - OS

What's the diff 'tween a pistol and a rifle according to federal law? (not the barrel length or overall length) When does a hatchet become an ax? Does a rose by any other name smell as sweet? :) - OS

Sen. Feinstein: Private Gun Sales Play into Terrorists' Hands
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Only a bit over half the eligible voters in our country actually do it, so actually only bit more than 25% actually elected him. However, I doubt if pressing the half that don't vote into action would necessarily be a good thing either. - OS -
Sen. Feinstein: Private Gun Sales Play into Terrorists' Hands
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, let's be fair -- her "district" is the entire state of California. So let's just say there are enough nuts there to have kept her in office over 20 years. - OS -
It'll probably say, "Needs A Real Life". Btw, I see from looking around there seems to be an auto generated "TGO Senior Member" also, not sure when, maybe 1,000? - OS

Christie doesn't have to do anything new to show he's no friend of gun owners -- New Jersey has very repressive gun laws, and Christie has said on interviews more than once that he thinks NJ's gun laws are "about right". That's all ya really need to know. - OS

Hey, guess what, I was wrong. There's at least one other level of auto title David is using in the IPB forum settings, so there may be more too, if you haven't added a custom one. I removed my custom title, and look what appeared:

100% chance in that situation ALL houses were gonna get searched, one way or the other. Any house where no one seemed to be home would be of prime interest and one where someone seemed to be inside but wouldn't come to the door would get the most attention of all. - OS

Unimpressed with police work in Boston
Oh Shoot replied to jgradyc's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, I was initially thinking surely the perps would have disguised themselves, as just couldn't believe someone nowadays wouldn't know they'd be documented many times over in situation like that. It they had just researched and executed a bit of facial, hair, and maybe body padding disguise, whatever, they might have gotten away with it. Perhaps other factors would have eventually found them out, but they were outed by people who knew them from simply seeing the pix and if that avenue hadn't been there, who knows? - OS -
Not a lawyer, but where ever you spend the night becomes your domicile, it's often said, but don't take that to the legal bank either. And certainly ain't gonna opine about grayer issues of your just "being" there from time to time, again I'm no lawyer, but doubt that fits the intent of it very well at all. But again -- remember that the Castle Doctrine is not a "permit", just a presumption, and evidence to the contrary can negate it. Your situation is not nearly a clear cut example of how it works. But the most important thing to remember is that in all cases, an investigating officer, then a DA, and perhaps even a jury will be deciding whether your deadly force was justified, whether in that house or just out on the street. And also know, even threatening someone with a gun fits the charge of aggravated assault, so don't think you have a free ride to menace him with your heater either. I'll paste the actual TN code on deadly force tomorrow if nobody else has, I'm off to the rack. - OS
