You may not like him, but, ...he won against some wierd stuff

Oh, okay, forgot about that -- then I guess it does sort of, though she wasn't born till 4 years after he and Cindy got married. So I'll re-rank it 7.2 on a 10 scale, mea culpa. - OS -
A whole new level of civil disobedience....
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yep. I can't quote any DC laws, but I'd be surprised if they aren't written such that carrying an unloaded gun in public is prohibited too. - OS -

She is John and Cindy's daughter, so it mainly just doesn't rank on the witty scale, as it doesn't make any sense. Purely mean-spirited in a childish sort of way. edit: statement retracted, due to forgetfulness of history, see post below. - OS -
The Defense Distributed "Liberator"
Oh Shoot replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
From the Forbes article: "Wilson compares his new legal troubles to the widely-followed case in the mid-1990s of Philip Zimmermann, the inventor of the cryptographic software PGP, who was threatened with indictment under ITAR for putting his military-grade encryption software online. “It’s PGP all over again,†says Wilson." Good point, and I remember the PrettyGoodPrivacy saga pretty well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pretty_Good_Privacy Of course, the next offensive will be simple -- prohibit fabricating any firearm by any method without an FFL. - OS -
Used to work under him, and to my knowledge, no. He plays piano pert well, though. - OS

If I'm offering parking for employees or customers, certainly it should be that way. As far as what really is -- me as a customer, you now can't do anything at all about my gun in my car in your parking lot. You can still fire an employee for it, though (in perhaps most cases). - OS

This has not been confirmed one way or the other yet, no case law. - OS

Oh, that's good then. Didn't know there was anything but the one that lets you carry on an expired HCP with the letter. Sounds like you got it covered, and looks like I stand corrected, thanks. - OS

I'm in 'Nooga for a week, and my bucks are pretty much apolitical, so y'all stay away from Dicks and let me get some. - OS

There's a Chinese made one with hammers and double trigger that folks say is fine, that's the cheapest I know. Have seen them at gunshows, seems for around three bills best I remember?, at least pre panic, seemed pretty solid, and purty too. Somebody will chime in with the importer brand probably, can't do much searching on dialup this week. - OS
-
Oh no, they shouldn't have done that -- that left you without being able to carry at all, and that's not in the protocol. Sometimes a duplicate takes as long as original HCP or renewal turnaround. My renewal was over 4 months this last time (and included a dupe). Hopefully they'll hurry up and work something out, but you may need Lisa in Nashville to work this one out fast, as I have little confidence in the average DMV worker. - OS

If they are fast zeds, we're doomed, period. - OS

I bought 100 pack of 12 ga birdshot yesterday. Figger I'll start blowing stuff up at close range some for fun, as the rest of my stock dwindles. They had a bunch of that, but 'course you can only get one at a time. - OS

In World War Z, the 10/22 was standard issue for some of the military units. See the section about the gal who had to climb a tree when surrounded. She just sat up there and kept killing them until there weren't any more so could go on her way. Carrying lots of ammo would be much more important than the horsepower of the round. - OS

Well, the 795 has sling studs on it, so that's a plus. Again, nothing wrong with it at all if it speaks to you in some way the Ruger doesn't. No factory hi-cap magazines, AFAIK, dunno if aftermarket ones are any good or not. - OS

The current Senate wouldn't try BHO if he killed someone on live TV. - OS
-
A better analysis is that it was all about BHO winning the election, and not having his "we've neutered Al Qaeda" message rebutted by actual fact. Would take the luster off the "General Motors is alive and Bin Laden is dead" mantra. It was also an "inconvenient truth" that couldn't interfere with a very important fund raiser in Vegas the next day. It's also sounding like maybe O and Hildebeest were together drunk or something when it happened, as both seem to have been totally MIA. You realize that the poor sap who made the Excuse Vid is still in jail for a simple (and quite minor) parole violation (that took a well televised swat team to bring in, yeah right) but they've given bail to the Boston Bombing accomplices -- and yet not one of the actual perps has even been hunted down. Yet one purported principal was "found" and interviewed in a cafe by a tactical newsman. Hell, the first US team didn't even hit the site till almost a month afterwards. It was said it was "too dangerous". But of course it wasn't too dangerous for the embassy folks to have been there in the first place, and newsmen were picking through the rubble within 24 hours. Whole thing has stunk from the beginning, continues to reek worse, and none of the malfeasance at the least will be punished, except maybe for singling out a whipping boy or two way down in the pecking order. And by the time Hillary is officially anointed, it will be ancient uninteresting history. - OS

If you mean on your HCP, unless their policy has changed, they don't send you a new one for an address change. I think you can apply for a duplicate if you want yours to reflect current address. edit: yep, here is info: http://www.tn.gov/safety/handgun/duplicate.shtml (bottom of page), and link goes to: https://apps.tn.gov/tndlr/address-instr.html - OS

Oh, the birch can look very nice, some of it has a nifty grain structure, no two alike really. Was somewhere in early 1980s, maybe before that, when they switched from walnut to birch on the basic 10/22. Nothing really wrong with birch, though, heck even most Garands are AFAIK and they've held up pert well. :) - OS
-
Concur totally. Although the 10/22 basic carbine model isn't walnut, have to go to the pricier Sporter model to get that. The carbine comes with "hardwood" (which is birch) or polymer stock, same price. - OS

I don't think it is for renewal, can't find it if it is. My comment was to Volzfan, who said he renewed "online" ? - OS

Here, I added black to canvas size for proportion, up-rezzed, sharpened, sized for HCP/DL, prints okay if you use best printer setting. Would look real good on photo paper. PDF file with 2 on a 8.5x11 size page: http://routedriver.home.comcast.net/pub/temp/2Apermit2.pdf Here's with just one in middle of page, with more black field, if you want to try an envelope thing to fold a bit lager than HCP: http://routedriver.home.comcast.net/pub/temp/2Apermit1more.pdf - OS

Blew right by that reading your post. This was news to me too. Don't see a link for it off main section anywhere, did instructor tell you about it? - OS
