Here's one for the "good guys" (graphic)

Yep, trigger still to be pulled with gun on target, regardless of who has it out first. - OS -

Seems to be a bit iffy there maybe depending on state, meaning how long he continued to shoot as the guy was retreating, dunno. Hope not. - OS -
They'll be 5 bucks by midsummer if ammo doesn't free up. ARs may sell for scrap! - OS

You already lose license for a year on first offense, yes? You maybe can get restricted license for work only, or what? - OS

Well said ...

Well, good point. No ballistics scientist here, but I shoot mostly 55 gr. .223, and informally of course, but see no real diff tween my 1:8 or 1:7 barrels (don't have a 1:9, maybe it would be better). Though it's generally said that a rule of thumb is that any of the three is 'bout same ballpark for a 55gr, as per? : - OS

Saw good bit of #4 for a while there before turkey season. I suspect that's about the only time they stock it? - OS

Yeah, throwing jackets of 55gr. bullets with 1:7 barrels, sounds a bit extreme, never heard that said before Especially since you can get reasonable results with a 37-40 grain .22LR bullet from 1:7, 1:8, or 1:9 twists in same .223 barrel using drop in kit, all of which are much more extreme examples compared to the 1:12 or so of a dedicated .22LR barrel? - OS

Has a FFL from his home in Brentwood. The KY thing was all about how he was gonna do a commando type open carry at the statehouse there, but apparently never did. - OS

And the proper term is "venomous" rather than "poisonous" , unless perhaps you're eating them. ;) - OS

TN honors all states' permits, including those who don't honor ours. Now that apparently no folks with permits from no other states who move here and need a TN permit get a break on it of any kind, I don't necessarily see what the formal reciprocal agreements really do -- except some other states may require that formal reciprocity before they'll recognize our permit, so if that's the case I'm all for it, since no other state's permit is more widely recognized than the TN one. I don't think there's another that even ties. - OS

I never saw where he claimed he could carry in TN with it, only in other states. - OS

A whole new level of civil disobedience....

Worst than weak, "lunatic fringe". Though I'm not sure just how many would need to attend to change the MSM's portrayal as that. - OS -
3D gun files pulled due to potential ITAR violation

Explain in detail please. Who is "they", and what did "they" send "to ComCast" and who sent you the nasty email, and what did it say? - OS -
Aww, say it aint so. Really? The IRS doing this?

This story seems to be heating up. With Benghazi and some other issues that have been glossed over, time is ripe for a Deep Throat to emerge to change everything. - OS -
Nope, as has been pointed out, TN residents must have TN permit within 6 months of establishing residency to continue to carry. TN honors ALL other state permits, by statute, not just policy. Statute says nothing about their needing to be resident permits. - OS

Herter's 223 @ Cabela's $0.35 / round
Oh Shoot replied to Paisan's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Herter's .223 I have says Tula on the headstamp, dunno why it was ever in question. You must live in a different Knoxville than me. Haven't seen any since the election. - OS -

Dunno, Lester. 3.5 years is a long time yet. We'll never know about JFK either, since he would have had 5 years more for a legacy (surely would have been re-elected, seems). - OS -
Recall only affected a run of them from a number of years ago now, so if the one you "just picked up" is new, don't see it's an issue. Info on Beretta USA site somewhere how to tell. (on dialup this week so ain't gonna look for it myself). - OS

I want to chrono my 10.5 AR with some different ammo, but I see various reports and charts showing 2500 to 2900 for various 55gr loads out of that length. Let's be even more conservative, and say 2350-2400 at worst. That's still not too shoddy ya know, for hollow point or soft nose ammo, even assuming you don't get tumbling or fragmentation at the lower end. Can tell you with iron sights, I don't see any significant POI diff at 50 and 100 yards between my AR pistol and rifles with same cartridge, so I suspect it will do the job at those distances adequately. If you're needing to shoot 'bout any pistol past 100 yards you probably didn't bring the appropriate firearm for the purpose. - OS

Nonetheless, the new statute simply allows HCP holders to do it, and specifically negates the posting and school property statutes for said behavior. My guess is we'll eventually see lawsuits from a student and/or employee of a school who is expelled/terminated for it, and perhaps from a private biz too, if the owner is stupid enough to admit that was the reason the employee was let go, and case law will determine that part, or lead to modification of the statute itself. - OS
-
Fine with me, but I lean more toward the fact that the employee's vehicle is personal property, and the fact that the employer allows it onto his lot does not give the employer any more say as to what is legally contained in it than an employee has a say in what is legally contained in a company owned vehicle. If the employer does not want to offer parking for his employees' private vehicles, fine. Let him compete in the workforce only for workers who are willing to arrive by other means. - OS

TN permit / moved in from Ohio
Oh Shoot replied to docachna's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
This part is not in "the law", but only the TN Dept of Safety policy, which they can apparently tweak as they see fit. - OS
