  1.   Maybe a bunch of them are gay!   - OS
  2.   The rubber feet on all mine hold pretty well against the rough concrete or carpet on most shooting stands. Where I shoot for a while now has some sort of Formica like stuff, and I tape them when I really want it as solid as possible, which is actually seldom as I don't generally chase precise groups.   - OS
  3.   Yeah, that's what I meant, forward tension on legs. You don't have to lay prone to do it, works on bench too.   - OS
  4.   He's a black Asian, a gay apologist pussy, an abortionist, a unionist, an elitist socialist, and illegal alien. Truly representative of most of the downtrodden classes, all right.   I think he might finally have that Memorial Day vs Veteran's Day thang down now though, being such a quick study and all.   (sorry about the OT, haven't had a chance to rail in a week or so)   - OS
  5.   As I understand it, most everything fits it except 870 barrels.   - OS
  6.   I assume you mean pressing forward against it, which I've done with the "Winchester" for years, and the "Blackhawk" for 6 months, no probs.   I do have a rail mount light weight UTG on one rifle and it's pretty much junk all around, but the ones above with the external spring design have done very nicely.   - OS
  7.   Hope they're up to snuff after y'all waiting 6 weeks and hearing various false promises.   Glad it wasn't a total scam with the guy ducking out or something.   - OS
  8.   You referring to previous O'Reilly interview where Rubio had "no objection" to several things Bill fired off, and one of them being registration?   If so, and without any other documentation, I'd say Rubio simply had a lapse of the moment in a rapid fire exchange.   - OS
  9.   There is nothing deft about gun grabbers except the sleight of hand they use to take away the clearest enumerated right in the entire constitution.   - OS
  10.   You see 4-10% as a range spouted here and there for both. Who knows? It's not like it's a census question, and what percentage would answer truthfully if it were?   - OS
  11. If you're buying from an actual FFL dealer on gunbroker, I know of none who will charge you sales tax unless you are in the same state.   Your local FFL will not charge you sales tax on the gun purchase price either, because he didn't sell it to you.   - OS
  12.   Many atheists see mathematics, science, and logic as their higher powers.   An agnostic like me "worships" as yet unknowable possibilities, the grand mysteries of the cosmos.   - OS
  13. Same topic the other day hasn't had much action:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/65839-tennessee-localities-that-have-overturned-their-opt-out-decision-on-parks-carry/
  14.   Don't think our two opinions will be the only ones to appear -- watch this space. :)   - OS
  15.   Yep, this admin has taken the "foxes in charge of hen house security" thing to new heights.   - OS
  16.   I don't know about $15-20 dollar ones, but can tell you that I don't find any quality diff between my $45 "Blackhawk" currently sold at Wally's (or the "Winchester" one they previously sold) and my $70 Harris (1A2-L 9-13 Inch).   Matter of fact the Blackhawk has a quite handy lockable side to side leveling action the Harris lacks. The Harris has a larger hand tightening knob rather than Allen screw is the only feature I find more ergonomic than the cheap ones I have.   I've had three of the $40 "Winchesters" on rifles for 3-5 years now, and the "Blackhawk" on one for about 6 months,  and they've all been just fine. Some of the higher end Harris models have additional features folks may want I guess that aren't available in other lines.   - OS
  17.   Yep, the fix is in to force the "one payer" system eventually, which is what the progressives wanted in the first place, and I guess without the clout of the insurance companies, that's what we'd already have enacted.   Once it fails, the government will have "no choice" but to step in and take over health care entirely.   - OS
  18. That whole speech could have been done in 15 min tops. It was longer than his last State of the Union address.   Long, rambling, repetitive, and ultimately unclear exactly what course of action he is actually going to do. Was NOT the assertive type thing to deflect the news cycle from the scandals -- which was of course the real purpose.   The Code Pink dame really livened it up -- but became the lead story more so than the Anointed One's message, whatever it exactly was.   - OS
  19. I never understood the "logic" of dropping the administrative appeal to recover his HCP. Seems almost certain if he had just showed up with attorney and made nice, would have gotten it back. His shenanigans were much less nationally publicized than Yeager's.   Could have still mounted his various suits and challenges afterwards.   At least he occupies rare status these days, perhaps the only FFL in America that isn't allowed to carry a firearm in a shall-issue state.   - OS
  20.   John Sevier TWRA verges on that. And especially since it's not  free like PC.   - OS
  21.   Perhaps this will eventually play out here also simply by a vote of participation/non-participation in BSA -- though I don't think an alternative SOBSA (Straight Only Boy Scouts of America) org will likely exactly catch fire either. Probably wouldn't even survive a legal challenge either?   - OS
  22.   Okay, I'll debate within those confines. Christianity says that homosexual sexual acts are sins, but doesn't seem to  being homosexual per se.   The Catholic church, 25% of Christianity in the US (and half or more world wide),  even allows gay priests, as long as they, like straight ones, remain celibate.   Is the BSA condoning gay sexual acts? Does it condone straight ones?  No to both. Just eliminating a label as cause for exclusion.   Don't gay youngsters who want to be Scouts already join? Or will there now be a big influx of swishy girly-boy cross dressers beating down the doors to go get dirty hiking and building campfires and whatnot?   - OS
  23.   "God" is not a religion and all theists do not acknowledge the same one.   The 4 million or so scouts in India say the same oath, ya know, and the God of Abraham isn't much in favor there.   (I left out the millions of Islamic Scouts, since so many claim both Muslims and Christians actually worship that same God of Abraham).   - OS
  24.   They did not vote on allowing gay leaders, so that's still a no for now.   - OS
  25.     To echo Hershmeister's post, neither the BSA nor its parent org purport to be  Christians organizations, so using the Bible would seem to have limited relevancy to the specific issue? And technically, even those prohibitions are not against "being" gay, but rather against the sexual practice involved therein.   Meaning, to me it seems absurd to think that people "choose" to be gay. The  simple fact that I as a heterosexual can not and never could "choose" what gives me a boner seems rather an obvious proof of that premise. But as far as the ruling, it is not advocating gay sex during scout activities, any more than in endorses heterosexual sex during them. Only the stance that "being" gay is not a disqualification for membership.   Anyway, regarding the Christianity makeup, worldwide, the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM),  by which the BSA was founded and of which is a member, probably has as many if not more non-Christian members as Christian.   Indeed, just India and Thailand together have more Scouts than in all the US, and there ain't much of a Christian percentage in either place.   - OS
