  1.   Some Aero Precision ones are, only ones I've ever heard of.   - OS
  2.   ??   The takedown detent/spring channel is not threaded on standard lowers -- the buffer tube end plate (or plate on rifle butt) holds them in -- although threading for a set screw it is a mod some folks do. Is yours actually threaded?   - OS
  3. I actually do dial up on my Mom's plain ole phone line when I'm down in 'Nooga. Have kept a Netscape $6.95/month account for years just for that.   It's that or pay for broadband there but only use it for 6 weeks out of the year.   - OS
  4. The current Kel-Tec pistols have enough probs without going with a beta version, IMHO. But at least it seems to run for ya.   Btw, don't take it apart  - the word seems to be that some never got them back together!   - OS
  5.   Well, see. Quite remarkable what sticks in folk's minds, even if subconscious. Can't hardly believe O'Mara vetted that.   And three hours. Too much right off the bat to grok by the jury I'd say, compared to the prosecutions few more precise points in a tidy 30 minutes. Hell, more than one commentator said that even Zim showed visible effort to stay awake during the third hour.   - OS
  6. The knock knock joke was just an incredible faux pas. It's what will be remembered by the public, especially since it's getting hammered in by the lib MSM.   Quite insensitive considering the gravity of the situation, and with TM's parents right in the room, and who knows how the jury took it. Those are the kind of things that sometimes nuance opinion far beyond the logic of things.   And besides that, it's an ancient joke, first heard it way back during OJ's first trial.   - OS
  7.   I could be wrong about the pickup (and not sure it's free even with account), but I have sent several guns, both long and one handgun, through UPS stores with my own pre-printed label from my account and with call tag from factory. I have never been asked what's in a package, not only the gun shipments but any of the many other shipments I've done this way.   As long as going to a licensee, you don't have to notify as per federal law, and I personally have not worried about UPS policy regarding where to drop it, worst case I'd say "huh?". Note, that I did send the handgun with cheapest version of overnight to comply with that part of their TOS, as if it gets lost they'd likely deny claim if you tried to actually fudge them out of bucks.   If you have to pay at counter, you go through a  whole nother drill.   - OS
  8.   If you have pre-paid label, pack it up and drop it on counter at UPS store, say thanks, and leave.  I've never had one ask any questions at all, except whether you wanted a receipt.   I don't believe you can schedule UPS pickup without an account.   - OS
  9. No loaded long gun for general public carry in TN, permit or not.  (note: any ammo on your person for it, it's loaded)   Loaded long gun in vehicle okay with permit, but no round in chamber even then.   - OS
  10.   As apparently will Russia, Cuba, and Ecuador. Also seems Iceland was willing to do same.   - OS
  11.   My link above goes to my "deal spotter" post in the other forum, you followed it and posted there.   - OS
  12.     Y'all missed my little jokey poo -- word tt was looking for is "grisly".   - OS
  13. I have CMMG dedicated upper w/1:16 18" barrel, runs nicely with Black Dog mags, don't much care for the basic CMMG ones by comparison. Unlike any of my other .22 rifles, though, seems you really do need to clean the bolt after a few hundred rounds to keep it 100% reliable, and it's a stainless one too. It's the top one in this "kit" picture: - OS
  14.   I wouldn't ever want to take on a black bear with a blade, let alone a grizzly. ;)   - OS

Well, it's finally wire time...   May have to check out "Naked and Afraid" after it, looks kind of interesting.   - OS
  16. "To steer it through its bankruptcy reorganization, Hostess hired restructuring expert Greg Rayburn as its CEO. But Rayburn ultimately failed to reach a contract agreement with its second largest union. In November, he blamed striking workers for crippling the company's ability to maintain normal production and announced that Hostess would liquidate.   About 15,000 unionized workers lost their jobs in the aftermath.   The trimmed-down Hostess Brands LLC has a far less costly operating structure than the predecessor company. Some of the previous workers were hired back, but they're no longer unionized."   Negotiate this! Obama must have wept.   - OS
  17. Another inexpensive Kershaw rec, but more macho -- the Tremor.  20 clams on eBay and etc.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBkUbiMXr4o   - OS

    Wire Walker

Just a bit of ombudsmanship, :):     Well, actually 3 others were killed on the wire (and one other paralyzed) before Karl bit the dust. One more was killed in some kind of electrocution involved with the rigging, but don't think he was actually on the wire at the time.   It's not really over the National Park part of it, but over chasm nearby on Indian land, so no national sacrilege or anything. :) - OS
  19. Well, Hong Kong ignored the extradition request, let him leave country, and he's apparently on plane to Russia right now.   Final destination opined to be Iceland, Cuba, or Ecuador, if he can get there without being nabbed at a stop somewhere on the way by a US friendly country.   The Icelandic connection may involve Assange/Wikileaks to some extent, seems to be traveling with a Wikileak lawyer right now.   - OS

That's what happened during the Niagara one.   - OS
  21. Need rest  of LPK, BCG, some mags?   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/35061-deal-spotter/page-10#entry987687\   - OS
  22. 23. So we have all these giant databases of every human activity, but the IRS can't even cross reference mailing addresses to sniff out fraud?   That's just typical of how fricked up the whole giant bureaucracy really is.   - OS
  24.   And cheap blended whiskey, which often uses neutral spirits.   edit: looks like it only affects booze "infused or blended" with non-booze.   "The ABC's memo says infusing or blending alcoholic beverages with non-alcoholic products is prohibited by a law that dates back to 2006."   - OS
  25.   Not much info in the story, and the many others all pretty much parrot it, but it suggests he left the dog in the car at his home?   - OS
