  1. She was the Girl from U.N.C.L.E. too. Only lasted one season. - OS
  2.   You have the original model as shown in vid?   - OS
  3.   Then I'll stick by statement then -- hung or manslaughter. They could have stayed as long as they wanted, and if they were close to acquittal, I bet they would have given it the effort for longer just to be done with it.   - OS
  4.   Have a feelin'  he'll sniff it out. :)   'Course, if he bites, he'll make one to shoot a Watusi long spear with .300blk or something!
  5.   Yeah, I don't see it being much of an issue really, except as mentioned out of state could be a real hassle.   (disclaimer: my legal opinion is likely worth less than you paid for it)   - OS
  6. Methinks if they don't get a verdict tonight, it'll mean a hung jury, or a cop out to the lesser charge. Which of course carries the same penalty or actually a bit worse in this case.   Coming back for the evidence list doesn't bode well for consensus of not guilty.   - OS
  7.   Well, they don't always cite ya, they can call in and check on DL too. Happened to my mom in Nooga, 'course little old ladies tend to get breaks.   - OS
  8.   Yepper, there's that.   - OS
  9.   Thanks for adding to my vocab, Danny. I was pretty sure you didn't mean Lutheran. :)   - OS
  10. The statute regarding carry (39-17-1351) only says you must have permit with you at all times you carry.   However, it does not specify a punishment if you don't, except that  (39-17-1352) states you could have permit suspended or revoked for violating 1351. I doubt 1307 (unlawful carry) would come into play.   Matter of fact, my guess, since they can call in and check on the permit which matches your DL number, is that without some extenuating circumstances (like pissing off the LEO), nothing bad would happen period for forgetting your permit. Generally, nothing does with forgetting your DL either.   - OS
  11.   Technical point: that is not the law.   - no drinking at all while packing in a public establishment that serves booze - no carrying while "under the influence" (undefined)   The first point is clear, the second is not. Been the subject of many a debate here, and as always individual mileage may vary.   - OS
  12.   Says kit has "blank insertion tool" of some sort.   - OS
  13.   Well, probably too wide ranging subjects for a discussion format like this anyway, especially with the volume of quoting/response (or attempted such :)).   - OS
  14. Ya got everything else: http://www.laruetactical.com/ruger-10-22-deluxe-arrow-conversion-kit - OS
  15. It's purty, really it is.  But too purty for me, I couldn't stand it when the marks and dings start accruing. :)   - OS
  16.   Wow, I haven't heard that since the internet began, cool:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooter_Brown   - OS
  17. You might have to defend yourself or family sometime even if you're crocked, y'all, so I wouldn't keep the loaded gun too far from the Jim Beam bottle. :)   - OS
  18.   Ah, here ya go, apparently designates the change over to safety.  Actually, both hammer block safety and rebounding hammer.   http://www.marlinowners.com/forum/rimfires/77960-39a-vs-39as.html   http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=264854   - OS
  19.   That's my understanding of how stuff like that works.   Like, even if a single case precedent in TN determines that a statutorily non-compliant sign means you aren't guilty of carrying past it, until the statute itself is changed, can still be charged under it.   Btw, the carry-in-federal-buildings USC contains such a provision.   - OS
  20. Is it stainless? If not, Garufa probably has it pegged. - OS
  21. I'd call that a rather narrow focus of the Spanish Inquisition. Likely as many Jews subjected as Moors. And plenty of "Christians" who fell out of favor for whatever reasons also. Matter of fact "backsliding" heresy seems to have been more harshly treated that "other culture" heresy. Also, there were Inquisitions in all Spanish colonies, most where there was little if any Muslim influence. And there were Inquisitions outside of Spain or its dominions.   All cultures have had warfare. But few indulged in genocide, or at least succeeded at it so well. As far as conflicts with white folks, imagine how you'd react when your turf was invaded and your livelihood diminished or destroyed. And of course, you didn't respond regarding the virtual annihilation of Maya, Inca, Aztec (and other meso/south American) peoples, for the most part jointly bankrolled by the Vatican.   Those are much more cogent views I think -- and I'm not trying to make a case for anything, just pointing out the similar progression of both Christianity and Islam over their respective first 1600 years or so in particular. The snuffing of Native American culture I won't lay directly on Christianity per se as neither Catholic nor Protestant institutions bankrolled it, only that it was predominately folks who claimed to be Christian who both committed and allowed it -- the same type who sanctioned slavery and later the denial of equal rights all the way through the 1960's, and to some extent even today. Proving only that religious piety doesn't necessarily result in equally ethical practice, individually or collectively. - OS
  22.   The PO law remains the same under 39 CFR 232.1. This is a legal precedent which will either lie there or work it's way up. Unless Congress decides to change it, AFAIK, federal code can only be changed in the court system by SCOTUS, either by direct ruling or letting the last court's decision prevail.   Willing to have a lawyer on here clarify if I'm right, of course.   - OS
  23.   Didn't realize that. Thought standard procedure was to give each one shot in criminal trials, with defense going last, with theory being that prosecution must have convinced jury beyond a reasonable doubt from the gitgo.   Maybe the better theory is that the prosecution (the state/county/city) is paying for the thing, so they get double emphasis? :)   - OS
  24.   The judicial logic of FL giving the prosecution two closing arguments and the defense only one escapes me.   - OS
