  1. All in all looking around America right now, be grateful if you haven't had to flee your home due to rain, or due to fires from the lack of it.   - OS
  2.   Doesn't matter. 1359 doesn't say it only applies to permit holders.   All in all though, I think a 1359 violation is far down the list on this guy's possible problems.   - OS
  3. Good Lord. I'd have to take a course at a trade school to use that.
  4.   sixty frigging five     License types, these overlap a bit,   fishing: http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/fishlicense.html   hunting: http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/huntlicense.html
  5.   Or FedEx Ground/Home Delivery. But hazmat regs and fees apply to loaded ammo too, if it goes Air.   - OS
  6.   Hey, great thing about fishing and hunting, plenty of room to let er rip.     Yeah, it weighs on my mind ... need to her get down on the lake itself in permanent home to fix her, never did care much for hauling one for a one or two day trip.   - OS
  7. One of the few perks of getting older than dirt:   got my $11 Lifetime Geezer Basic Hunting and Fishing license (includes Trout).   That is all, whippersnappers.   - OS
  8. My middle name is misspelled, according to one close relative who gave me lowdown on a bunch of stuff on my father's side after he died, though Mom denies it.   Harkens back to Dad's folks, meant to give Dad middle name of "Julius".  Somehow got his on birth certificate as Junious.   Since Dad named me a Jr, my middle name is Junious, too.   Last name is pretty plain as to original origin, one of the main Highland Scottish clans, spelling variations all happened one they hit the New World and the horse thieves, pickpockets, and whiskey makers tired to differentiate themselves from one another. :)   I met head of clan on a 1978 trip around England/Scotland, wrangled an invite over to her digs, built in 1746 not far from the original castle which also still stands there in ruins dating from the 1400's just outside Oban (which you can cross reference to find out my last name. But it won't reveal the actual spelling). :)   - OS
  9.   That's a Stellar Rigs Kydex creation. I'm mostly a leather guy, but Kydex makes a lot of sense for pocket carry. And the extra mag takes up no more pocket room than without it.   Sold through stellarrigs.com and for some time now through Kahr's site also, same price.   - OS
  10.   Yeah, perhaps would benefit from the young males and Hispanic over all -- but this might be offset from all de wimmen who will vote for Hillary regardless of anything else.   Will be lots of insider demographic polling along the line, maybe more than usual next time around.   - OS
  11. I've had a Moonie Machine in my pocket for years. :) : - OS
  12.   Yep, well stated.   But btw, I'd wager that given the same circumstances,  ole hippie Cody Lundin could thrive while most of the machismo around here croaked. :)   - OS
  13.   Bout as big as they are known to get; hell, you might have had the world's record there, could maybe have made a buck some way or another on it!   - OS
  14.   "The mission of the Douglas County Housing partnership is to preserve and develop safe, secure, quality housing while providing housing choices for those who have few.”   I'd say that means they take Section 8 and state funding for rent, in which case it's already settled law as I understand it, and I imagine their attorney told them so.   - OS
  15.   Unless something major happens to piss off the low info voters and libs, I predict he can win 10 states, about the same as Cruz. Or Paul/Cruz, or Cruz/Paul, whatever.   One thing about Christie, though, he's the only one on the GOP horizon that seems to have a chance to turn some of the blue states red in a national election. Won't be red enough for folks here, but the almost certain alternative is Hildebeest.   - OS
  16.   I've opined there's a good chance he'll be Hillary's veep one way or another.   He's said several times in the past that New Jersey's extremely restrictive gun laws are "about right". So he even lied about that, and signed new ones.   - OS
  17.   Ah, IC, just seemed you meant they found eggs first before they "hatched".   All US/Canadian venomous snakes give live birth except the coral snake which does lay eggs. The cottonmouth is technically oviparous instead of viviparous like the rattlesnake and copperhead, meaning that the brood does hatch from eggs, but they are retained inside the female until ready for the live birth.   - OS
  18.     Well, that settles it for me, then they're around that part of the Clinch range for sure.   Timbers have long fangs and put out a high venom yield, probably our most dangerous snake really if actually bitten.  Supposedly the mildest tempered of the rattlers though (it's the one favored for religious snake handling), but it was still definitely best dispatched, for you and your animals both.   - OS
  19.   Impossible. Copperheads bear their snakelets live.   - OS
  20.   Copperheads can wind up about anywhere, even in the city.   I killed one just around the corner of the mountain from Ms. Kraut's place when I lived up that way. Pretty sure one of our dogs got struck by one once, too.   Probably lots of them around, we had 40 mostly unkempt acres, ran across snakes all the time, but that was the only copperhead I ever saw. Never heard of any timber rattlers in the area, though, at least from anyone whose opinion I'd trust. Lots of black panthers spotted though, of course. :squint:   - OS
  21.   Well, you can take that as far a you want. Since your property will eventually be taken away if you don't pay the yearly taxes on it, you could say the city/county has an on-going lien on it forever.   Point is though, that you have the same rights and privileges of use whether you have paid the mortgage off or not, and those are far in excess of those you have as a renter/leaser.   - OS
  22. Haven't seen this mentioned here?, but the Moonie Money is leaving New York. Though their manufacturing is in MA, the corporate home is in NYS, and they were apparently planning to expand there, but will now do both corporate and manufacturing expansion in PA.   Choosing a commie source here for reportage, for more satisfaction :) :   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/07/kahr-firearms-group_n_3721173.html   - OS
  23.   Couple miles or less. Run. :)   - OS
  24.   Wow, amazing how you and I, about same age, can see things so differently. I see the HUAC proceedings as among the most shameful in our legislative history.   - OS
  25.   Not sure when his Costco episode was, but Radnor Lake put him in prominence, and that was in Dec of 2009, during the Obama/Holder reign.   - OS
