  1.   Well, if I hired you to help me defeat a candidate you didn't like, but then I decided to run for a different seat and upset a candidate you actually liked better than me, are you a pimp for ducking out, or just following your principles?    I can see it as a breach of contract on Carr's part as much as anything else.   - OS
  2.   Well, in fairness to him (Chip Saltsman), he signed on for Carr's run for the House, not the Senate. And he's a big Lamar fan.   Resignation letter:   http://www.chipsaltsman.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ChipSaltsmanJoeCarrResignationLetter.pdf   He's actually a GOP heavy hitter, has been TN Republican Chairman, ran Huck's national campaign, etc.   Bio on Wiki:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_Saltsman   - OS
  3. Last time I went, I walked over to it (last year or year before, I disremember),  watched it from bank next to Thompson Boling.   Was really a bust, after the opening salvos, the heavy air and wind direction put all the smoke down toward the surface west of the bridge, and whole rest of the show was through a glass darkly, not to mention having to breathe it all.   - OS
  4.   Well, in fairness, I doubt Joe designed the posters. Would be interesting to know if he had final approval on a galley proof though.   edit: looks like this image never made it to print form, was used on campaign site.   I also didn't know till reading on this that Carr's top campaign aide resigned after the announcement, to go to work for Alexander.   - OS
  5. Anyone notice Carr's banner behind him on the day he announced his run against Alexander on the 20th? The anti-tea party media sure did: - OS
  6.   Yeah, like lots of people have 10-50 acre plots inside city limits.   - OS
  7.   I would never reduce force on a striker or hammer, especially on a carry gun.   - OS
  8.   Who's favored?
  9.   Well, it has an adjustable trigger. And you can have a 25 round mag hanging down from yer .22LR bolt gun.  ;)   - OS
  10.   Haven't heard of anyone on here getting burned by them in last couple years, as in not actually getting their stuff --  seem to have cleaned up their act some.  On eBay though, they have 470 negatives in last 12 months. But they do such a volume that still gives them a 99.5% positive rating there. Some of the negs are from claims about stuff not being received, or not in stock as claimed,  so YMMV I reckon.   I bought a couple of Magpul rails from them off eBay, had best price I could find anywhere. eBay is hard to beat for many $20 items and less if it's free shipping too, couldn't have bought them anywhere else for that price.   - OS
  11.   Once supplies even out, street price on Ruger stuff is about 25% lower than MSRP. But sometimes that takes a year or more on hot selling stuff, like their 1911, etc.   - OS
  12. .22LR and .22Mag, both in standard and compact versions and both with interchangeable stock modules. And unlike the other American models, have iron sights.   http://www.ruger.com/products/americanRimfire/index.html   - OS
  13. Yeah, the Kahr trigger was pretty much designed from the gitgo not to be modifiable, as the striker isn't actually in firing position after cocking. I guess you could lighten overall pull with the right springs, but don't know any way to shorten it.   Guy talks about it a bit in this vid at 8:50.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCzn3uYwuPc   - OS
  14.   When it doesn't "bounce back" it's no longer drop safe.   - OS
  15.   Or the lights just go out. No reports to date.   - OS
  16.   Well, they are necessary to declare war.  Otherwise, they can only make a special effort to pull purse strings.   - OS
  17.   A bud and I were both told we were talking too loud by a RSO.  With our muffs on. During firing session. Seriously. "Hey, y'all hold it down, people are trying to shoot here!"   I'll never get over that -- so I mention it every time John Sevier range discussion comes up. :)   - OS
  18.   Wow. But you can buy an actual firearm in city limits, right?   - OS
  19.   Not sure any of that statement is very accurate.  Knoxville's default on ordinances is up to 30 days jail time, some are considered misdemeanors.   If you are arrested, I don't see how you could claim there's no record of arrest. Carry in a municipal park comes to mind, to relate it to this discussion -- in Knoxville that is banned by city ordinance, and I don't think a city cop is just gonna write you a ticket and let you toddle off still carrying your heater here.   - OS
  20.   Put a damn pad on it,  you don't lose your man card or anything.   - OS
  21.   Maybe. Then again, maybe Israel simply gets a LOT bigger. I'm sure Jordon or Lebanon would cede them a corridor to connect if The Big Muscle was flexed. Though they'd have to avoid the contaminated zones for a good while. :)   - OS
  22.   Maybe that's part of the overall plan, let the Jews do the real work, wouldn't put such a subterfuge past BHO's bumbling international expertise.   Of course, it's also a recipe for an escalation with other countries, and perhaps the third offensive nuke in history. And maybe the fourth, and ....   - OS
  23.   Thought one of main ideas of 16 gauge was that it is significantly tamer than 12.   - OS
  24.   Urban safari territory, where the quarry shoots back.   - OS
