  1. Once the Christian-Muslim skirmishing cranks up, might not be so safe to be sporting one.   - OS
  2. Maybe FOX will take him on as one of their resident lib foils, along with Juan Williams, Bob Beckel, and Alan Colmes.   Btw, Megan Kelly bumped Sean Hannity out of his 9pm prime time slot starting next week.   - OS
  3. Well, being a Jew can simply connote lineage but generally we use it to also connote the practice of Judaism itself, as herein this discussion. Certainly the vast majority of Jews in Israel fit both connotations.     It's just that when Israel foreign policy comes up, I've just never really understood the typical support of the Jews from the Christian perspective, as they are just as much lost souls as any other religion as per the affirmation of the Christ as savior and all that.   The fact that they are constantly touted by Christians as being "God's chosen people" while admitting they're most all going to hell just sets off the ole cerebral conflict meter.   I fully understand our support on a global political strategy level, and perhaps the fact that Christian shrines are on their soil, but the religious support so often espoused just confounds me.   - OS
  4.   Well, of course, the insurance didn't go up 9.5% of your total salary, but whatever % of your salary it is, if salary doesn't go up same dollar amount, well ... you know.   - OS
  5.   Which is still confirming that there are a billion or more Jews in hell, and thousands more each day. Even though they worship the same God you do and of course did for three millennia before your savior came along.   Ole Yahweh can sure hold a grudge over that Baal thang, I'll give him that. ;)   - OS
  6.   Well, there's always next year, especially if your insurer is an ACA vendor, and finds he can't balance the books a year or so in.   'Course, 10% a year ain't exactly something to rejoice about either, as you said. Your salary go up each year enough to at least break even on it?   - OS
  7. Actually, any org that does ANY political activity at all is no supposed to be under this 501 (c) (4) blanket.   The law still says:   “Civil leagues or organizations not organized for profit but operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare…and the net earnings of which are devoted exclusively to charitable, educational, or recreational purposes.”   IRS revised it's "rules" in 1959 to read that  "an organization is operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare if it is primarily engaged in promoting in some way the common good and general welfare of the people of the community.   Which means there isn't hardly a liberal or conservative group out there that actually qualifies under the original intent of the law, as they all take overt political action in some form or other.   - OS
  8.   Just catching on, I see.   Think of it as a sin tax, the sin being not having insurance.   As usual, though, I don't see how they can collect it from anyone who doesn't pay taxes. Surely they wouldn't actually take it from any type welfare payment, eh?   - OS
  9.   Nope. I'd expect Tuke to be a much bigger threat in the General than Carr in the primary. Tuke got 32% against Lamar in '08, and I'd assume liberalism state wide has made more gains than conservatism since.   - OS
  10.   Um, a believer in Judaism does not believe in "Christ as Lord and Savior", eh? My point being, all those billion or more "chosen people"  who have died since Christ are in hell, according to Christian belief, along with all the Hindus, Shintos, Buddhists, Muslims, etc. of course.    So maybe God ran a Jewish Only Heaven for about 3500 years until he sent Christ, then a Christian Only Heaven afterwards?   - OS
  11.   Ah, well, that certainly clears it up. :stunned:   - OS
  12.   So no Jew ever goes to hell? Even though the same Good Book says anyone who doesn't take Jesus as his personal savior does indeed go there when they die?   Or only the ones that happen to be alive at the time of Christ's return win the Heaven Lottery, or what?   - OS
  13.   I use Gmail as POP from Pegasus, the only puter based email program I've ever used, since DOS days.   Has nifty "selective download", shows what's on whichever email POP server, can leave or delete on server, or download with option of leave it or delete it after the download.  If you leave it after downloading, next check has option to only show "unread" mail on email server.   - OS
  14.   Well, heck, it's all settled. We can just let God handle it, no worries.   Can never understand the Christian viewpoint on Jews .. they're the chosen people, yet they're all going to Hell.   - OS
  15. Is the vendor a secret?   - OS
  16.   With Democrat Bob Tuke, once Carr bid fails?   - OS
  17.   Been down there a number of times in the last year, walking the greenway and have gone down to where people fish at the rowing club pier, not seen the first carp. Maybe they are all over at Calhouns itself.   During World's Fair you could just about walk on them across the water.   Melton Hill lake below the Solway Bridge is absolutely carp city, can't keep them of the line from the shore, but you won't see them in shallow enough water to shoot from shore unless they're spawning. Except: haven't been there for years, but if there's still any free land access to the few inlets, and they are still full of milfoil like back when, they rise to slurp the top of the milfoil.   And btw, out of this not muddy cold water, they are quite tasty, ate a ton of them one year when I camped there long term, ground them up into "carp patties". :)   - OS
  18.     They also call .22 Mag "WMRF" rather than the almost universal "WMR"   - OS
  19. Main component most folks won't be able to handle themselves is installation of a pinned A2 gas block/sight base, if that's the route you want to go: - OS
  20.   At .51/round for Federal B grade stuff, they can keep them as far as I'm concerned.   - OS
  21.   Yep, did, sums it up pretty well. Really.   Just doubly sad if you've read the book, Max really sold out, but guess I can't blame him making a wad on something that started mostly as a hoot.   - OS
  22. Seldom do Pay For View, but finally watched it.   Very very disappointed. Excepting kudos for CGI and sets, it was just another actioner -- see how many times Brad can narrowly escape death against incredible odds!  Meh2   - OS
  23.   I was paying double that for $5K deductible with no copays, just covering me, and was in quite good health the whole time I had it, too.   Now officially a geezer, $104/month out of SS, and the bennies are 10-20 times better, too. I appreciate y'all funding it, guys!   - OS
  24.   I'm sure it's likely fine, but note it's not a primo PSA branded BCG like this one:   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/palmetto-state-armory-5-56-bolt-carrier-group.html   differences in the PSA one: different steel, shoot peened, MPI,  high pressure tested, etc.   - OS
  25.   I'm pretty sure you've already been corrected on this error here several times?   - OS
