    Season 4

Wow, less than 3 hours till opener, and no posts? Popularity must be fading.   - OS
  2. I always hear/read that if hammer and trigger springs are within spec and installed correctly, the pins will never walk. Indeed that's what the indentations on the pins are for, the legs of the hammer spring to seat in them. Look down in there and see if legs of hammer spring are sitting correctly next to wall of upper and not over the trigger spring loops or broken or something (I assume the Sig has conventional firing group parts construction?) - OS
  3. CMMG is fine, one of the maybe 3 mainstream companies making .22LR conversion kits and complete uppers. They of course make array of 5.56 stuff too. I have a CMMG dedicated upper I bought used, it's very nice, quite reliable, 1:16 twist. I actually can't quite tell just how ultimately accurate it may be, since none of my AR triggers are light enough to maximize it. - OS
  4.   Yes. Actually it's pinned and welded over the holes or welded alone to certain spec.   - OS
  5. Key word title spamming, perfected on eBay, though it is forbidden, and eBay will generally end auctions if reported, though they're usually too slow to do it before the auction runs its course. Supposedly the sellers get warnings, and there really does seem to be much less of it on there these days.   - OS
  6.   Yep, money was still worth plenty in the Great Depression, there just wasn't enough of it.   But we're likely looking at a different kind this time around, where there is too much money, and not worth the beans you need to buy.   - OS
  7.   And have already posted on previous page contact  and pricing.   - OS
  8.   None of that is correct.   Pin and welded still valid to achieve 16" barrel. It is also necessary if muzzle device is to count on overall length of firearm, which is perhaps most pertinent in AR world if you want to add a vertical forward grip to a pistol. Both barrel and overall lengths are measured to end of permanently installed muzzle device.   - OS
  9.   Quite. "Show me your papers".   - OS
  10.   National health care by then. No need to do anything then 'cept wait in lines and die sooner, unless you can pay in full out of pocket.   - OS
  11.   I could win the US Open at 65, too. Wanna bet on either? I've give ya some really fantastic odds.   - OS

    P238

Yeah, was thinking the P938 actually. Well, like any 1911 though, actually getting it to a hammer down position on a live round is about the most dangerous thing you can do with one in a way. And I imagine that trying to cock the small thing with one hand in a hurry couldn't be nearly as quick as simply thumbing the safety off. For some reason it just seems "scarier" to have a cocked and locked pistol in the pocket than on your waist ... admittedly probably purely a psychological response on my part. I'm sure the general 1911 mantra applies though, either carry a 1911 cocked and locked or carry a different type gun. :) Yep, it's a great little pistola, started carrying it daily about three years ago or more. I feel more "comforted" with the extra capacity of my XD 9 subbie in IWB, but started going to the Y two or three days a week back then and needed to be a bit more discreet in the ole locker room, and I'm a creature of habit with my daily accoutrements, so just began toting it all the time. Carries really nicely in my normal cargo shorts/pants pocket with this Stellar Rigs thang that has also been its home for the duration, and not bad even on the infrequent times when I have to wear dressier ones. The SIG P938 just looks so kewl, but I'm probably just looking for an excuse to buy another gun, it's been about 6 months or so. :) :) - OS
  14.   I certainly found both the post and the follow together very strange indeed, so I hear the theme song myself.   - OS
  15.   My rep is the anti-gun Joe Armstrong, can't shake him, he seems to have a lock on my district, mostly racial AFAIK.   'Course my Senator is crazy Stacy, and though he's quite wacked, I rather like him, and he's been behind a number of firearm freedom expansion.   - OS

You carry it hammer down or cocked and locked? Actually, it's not drop/impact safe with hammer down is it, just like a 1911?   How do the rest of y'all carry them? I'm quite happy with my PM9, but admit I've found this pistola attractive, but doubt I'll ever bump down to .380.   - OS
  17.   2014: $95 per adult or 1% of family income 2015: $325 or 2% 2016: $695 or 2.5% 2017 forward: increases by inflation rate or 2.5% and the maximum penalty per family is capped at no more than 300% of the minimum penalty   - OS
  18. Moonbeam actually vetoed 7 of 17 anti-gun laws submitted to him by the Kali legislature. The very worst was to classify any rifle with detachable mag as an assault weapon, which would have brought it into much more stringent control or outright ban.   I'm actually shocked.   One thing that was banned was lead "bullets" for hunting. Can't find if that means all bullets, like even .22LR. I mean, is there a .22 alternative even?   http://news.yahoo.com/california-governor-vetoes-several-tough-gun-control-bills-202721952.html   http://www.latimes.com/local/political/la-me-pc-california-jerry-brown-gun-control-20131011,0,6334949.story   - OS
  19.   Half or more of that 60% won't even show up at polls on midterm elections.   % of eligible voters who vote midterms has been less than 40% since the 70s. Hell, even on presidential election years it's only a bit more than half.   - OS
  20. Funniest one was my wife, way back when,  who isn't in the stupid category in any way, but.....   We rented an old decrepit farmhouse for three years or so, and the upstairs had a big flat ceiling type door that sealed it off before top of the stairs for winter when you didn't want to heat it with wood stove.   For some reason she didn't think about it being closed at the time, and she went tearing up the stairs to get something while talking to me at same time  and, whammo! And she came tumbling back down the stairs ass over teakettle.   Once she ascertained she wasn't dead or maimed, she started laughing hysterically as did I.   - OS
  21.   Did you give MacGyver your CMT name and email so they can put you in the group?   - OS
  22.   Yep, so far "dozens" not "thousands".   http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/11/dozens-not-thousands-show-up-for-dc-trucker-protest/   - OS
  23.   Betcha a quarter she's the next prez.   Actually, haven't we already bet? In that case I'll up it to .50 :)   - OS
  24.   NBC/Wall Street Journal one that came out yesterday shows GOP worse off than ever in history of polling. I expect more non conservative specific ones to echo it, and most of course already show the GOP worse off than either BHO or the Dems.   http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/10/20903624-nbcwsj-poll-shutdown-debate-damages-gop?lite   Yeah, like Cruz, you can scoff at it,   http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/11/20924466-cruz-scoffs-at-nbcwsj-poll-thats-not-reflective-of-where-this-country-is?lite   but that's not what's getting hammered home on media, everywhere but FOX of course.   Keep your eye on further polling, and of course, always the source -- yes, we know well about NBC but on the other hand, don't see that the WSJ has much motive to lean one way or the other.   Main point is, though, that this whole GOP effort, as I have maintained, has simply not been worth the buy in for what's possible to win. They thought up their on sucker bets.   - OS
  25.   None of the groups open for me when I click on them right now except the one I'm already a member of, so I don't even get to a "join" option.
