I don't understand why he would consider firing her...

Yep, the ACA is definitely merely prelude to the eventual US Socialized Medicine Program, and the primary liberal players have counted on that all along. For the rest of your prognostication, I can't disagree. For all the individual pockets of true conservatism touted by conservative outlets, the over national trend is toward the moderate to uber left. The House and many state legislatures have managed to stay red because of long time successful efforts in out-gerrymandering the Dems, but you can't do that with the Senate or the Presidency. And you can't necessarily do it successfully in the big cities anywhere. And the GOP isn't doing a damn thing to help their own image. And no, a few Spartacus-esque figures like Cruz and Lee aren't helping either, however much you may admire their principled spunk. But the fact was there was no pot to win, was just throwing away the ante and all the subsequent bets -- and matter of fact, the Dems got in several nice pieces of pork in the CR that wouldn't have been in there at all sans the ongoing futile opposition. Anyway, I can't imagine anything but (again) Really Bad Times happening to avert Hildebeest's coronation, expect the Senate to stay safely Dem, and expect the House to lose ground over time in spite of it's jury rigged voting districts. - OS -
I saw it too on IE, also, just to check. Cleared up now. Never showed on FireFox, no idea what Microsoft's security engine was reacting to. - OS

Now now, don't you try confuse Bersa with any credible statistics, too. He also said no other president had ever been elected by over 5 million votes and that Romney didn't get a single vote in North Carolina, but never came back to the drive-by posting. :) - OS

I'd surely like to see some of that! - OS

Meh, my firearms bucks are pretty much amoral. Quarter a round in hand cheapest I've seen in over a year, think I'll grab a thousand, thanks for the post. I own a Moonie gun and buy from Walmart too, btw, but I don't have to believe a company walks on water to take advantage of a decent deal. As far as CTD being an opportunist gouger, well, P.T. Barnum and H.L. Mencken were dead on, but it's not my fault. - OS

You're a Tinfoil hat wearer. :) - OS

Yep, SIG didn't manufacture the SBR. YOU did. - OS

Yeah, however : short of an epic financial and social meltdown where things would almost certainly swing very conservative, I doubt a uber conservative party would still ever take the presidency. And might well over time even lose ground even in the highly gerrymandered GOP regional structure too. - OS

oopsie, edited post above

Well, can only say with the economy still so bad, a big portion of it is now underground. It used to be that most of the underground economy dealt in something illegal, now most of it is just people plying honest trades who couldn't get a steady decent job. But that doesn't mean very many are paying accurate (or any) income tax - OS

Sometimes I can't get out of a quoted field, mouse won't do it, ENTER key won't do it. Have to get out of BB code mode, click below quote, then go back to BB. Used to, I could (at least sometimes) use ENTER key to break up a quote field into sections while in BB mode too, meaning it would break the field and leave rest of quote in new field, so could respond to each section. That hasn't worked in a good while for me, so do it out of BB mode, have to add the quote tags manually like the old days. - OS

Same round and quantity? Outrageous if so. Even the 7 cents each at Music's Wally is high for Golden Bullets. - OS edit: oopsie, didn't catch that these are shorts, mea culpa.

Nonetheless, a number of states have strict laws against it, and it's a federal felony to do it across state lines, so would have decriminalized a whole area of firearm law. Most folks obey even laws they disagree with. Of course, that was one of the rare improvements rather than detriments in the bill. - OS

However, one will definitely take your guns, if that matters to ya. - OS -
Do we know for a fact they actually contribute money, or this merchant affiliation just a PR "we're careful to make sure our gun sales are safe and legal" hype? - OS

I guess y'all's papers expired. Assume the position.

My guess is that Wally is in cahoots with and/or gives to all kinds of orgs, probably some I'd like and some I wouldn't, likely same I'd feel about most any other megacorp if I knew all their ties. - OS

Yeah, I've only sharped one S30V on mine, but it did fine. I generally don't even use the ceramic one on Sharpmaker, just go from the stone rods to a leather strop thingie with the paste on it. I'm not patient enough no matter what I use to sharpen my various smaller knives, have several different stones and whatnot, I generally just get them to where they push cut printer paper and call it good. - OS

Can give you a quick link for the overview of Wally and MAIG: http://www.mayorsagainstillegalguns.org/html/partnership/partnership.shtml Certainly, the mere mention of MAIG makes me gag, and I hate that, but I must admit I honestly don't see anything in the 10 points that specifically raises my hackles at all, since I don't mind if my FFL transaction is videoed. Maybe I'm missing something. - OS

It's really depressing to watch segments like The Factor's Watter's World when they interview the folks on the street about issues. - OS -
As long as it's not posted, you can carry in the fanciest most expensive purveyor of liquor by the drink in the state to the scuzziest beer dive in the state. But it's a Class A misdemeanor to take a sip inside if you have a heater. If you're caught "under the influence" elsewhere, call is up to the cop/judge whether you really are or not, and no, they don't have to give you an alcohol test. Class A 'meanor for that, too. If you're both under the influence AND in a place that serves alcohol with a heater, whether you got under the influence in that place or not, you also lose your permit for three years. AND, seems to me you could be charged with TWO counts of Class A if you're imbibing in the place AND are under the influence. - OS

I see several sizes from letter and legal and bigger, yeah, but does look like they may have been cranked off just a passel of different laser and poster sized printers and put in plastic sleeves, some maybe laminated, probably from all over the nation and the world. Seems to be one main "official" design, plus all the permanent closed signs that the various parks and other areas already had for regular use whenever they're closed for other reasons. Like nightly in many cases. https://www.google.com/search?q=US+parks+closed+signs&newwindow=1&client=firefox-a&hs=IxJ&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=-RBeUsPaNo3xkQeC6IGoAg&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1397&bih=710 I'd say everybody cranked them out on all kinds of printers in a thousand different offices. They have printers in other countries too it's rumored, and a PDF of the sign can get there pert quick what with that InterWebNet thang and all. :) :) - OS

There's an old saying: When you owe the bank a thousand dollars, you're worried. When you owe the bank a million dollars, the bank is worried. The world is the bank. We owe it the trillions. The world keeps investing because it knows if we fold, most everything folds. Same as you feel about your money protected by the FDIC. If the FDIC fails, you won't be much if any better off having lots of US dollars or not having any US dollars. However, the world will keep demanding higher interest rates over time to keep playing, the more risk it perceives, the higher the rate will be needed to make them play. It's a Ponzi scheme, based on nothing else than faith and track record. Which works until it doesn't. OPEC could demand payment in something other than USD tomorrow. Game would likely change immediately, perhaps catastrophically. Same if interest rate on US bonds has to double quickly to sell enough to keep going. China is lately strongly suggesting that the world needs a different base currency than the USD. Fitch is warning may downgrade US credit rating. Again. Interesting times, perhaps, to say the least. - OS

I'll opine the same again in this thread: It's conceivable that the GOP will cease to exist in the next decade or less. Which could be quite good or very bad. - OS
