  1.   Yep, I remember he signed the micro-stamping thing, before they found it was technologically impractical, or whatever the reason was it was never implemented. And ban of .50BMG in Kali, too, which is why Barrett won't sell them to LE there either.   - OS
  2.   Yeah, but my comment was on "Nobody ever thought we could've come as close as we did this year to losing our guns and gun rights..."   Point being that anybody who lived through the Assault Weapons Ban years surely knows full well we can lose them at any time, since we already did.   I myself was actually somewhat relieved that it was only Manchin-Toomey that finally came up for a vote, which didn't actually ban anything,  and admit I was surprised it didn't pass.   - OS
  3.   Mustang Ranch? If so, c'mon, that's a absurd claim.   - OS
  4.   Strange view seems to me, since you've already lived through a decade of outright firearm and magazine bans under a much less overall progressive socialist regime than the present one. And Manchin-Toomey didn't actually ban anything.   - OS
  5.   Medicare has always had its built in Death Panel to a certain extent, but yeah, almost certainly will increasing correlation with disapproved procedures tied to age.   - OS
  6.   He's also a self admitted draft dodger, twice self admitted convicted poacher, and runs high fence killing preserve where fat guys who can't walk can pay exorbitant fees to shoot imported exotic animals.   Other than all that I guess he's okay.   - OS
  7.   There has only been one AFAIK, and he wasn't so bad?   - OS
  8. Ah, sorry, I don't know the various commie gun varieties apart, I got impression AK pistol idea was totally new to ya period.     Only reluctant? Would advise a bit stronger aversion than that without a tax stamp!   - OS
  9. Draco, I guess.   https://www.google.com/search?q=drago+pistol&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#newwindow=1&q=draco+pistol&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&spell=1   Lots of folks here have one, some will probably chime in, but likely would have found it better found in pistol area, and with an actual firearm specific topic title.   Folks build 7.62x39 AR pistols, too. Anyway, strap one on in public and you can be as famous as Lenny Baby! :)   - OS
  10.   Yeah. Main diff is whether you can get in a decent group policy, or a group policy at all.   When I got bumped from state system in '97, I was left in between all magic numbers, lost retirement honey hole, no option to retain group insurance, etc.   For rest of work life, could only do COBRA for awhile, which sucks, and then could only get individual coverage, all options for which suck, and suck worse every year as you age until you hit the magic 65, at which time things improve remarkably. The main drawback of course is that you are indeed 65. :)   - OS
  11.   "use full editor" ?     Was able to actually open the group finally, by apparently holding my mouth right when I clicked on it, was able to join, so no advice there, and I'm not a Lifetimer either, so no real test of that.   - OS
  12.   Re-read. It would have for me, since I had only individual policy.   Course, now, I've got the best affordable coverage I'd had since state group policy 16 years ago. For $104 month out of Social Security and affordable co-pays with Blue Cross Advantage for Geezers Plan.   I'm actually having some optional stuff looked into for the first time in years, since I couldn't really afford to do it before.   - OS
  13.   Oh, I'll vote for Carr. And then later, Lamar. I ain't putting another Dem in the US Senate -- poor is better than worst case.   - OS
  14.   Well, hold onto it if ya can.   My insurance before official geezerhood was killing me, and (see above post) ACA would actually have saved me about $3500/year for what look to be somewhat better bennies too.   Of course, this seems to be because most of the cost is borne by richer folks and business entities, which doesn't make a lot of sense or fairness since I live on 2.5x the poverty level, not counting stashed assets.   - OS
  15.   That is a hilarious mental image, I must say. :)
  16.   If both you and the site survive long enough, it's almost a certainty, whippersnapper. :)   - OS
  17.   So you have something right now that is affordable?   - OS
  18.   What's not clear and concise?   1. It's perfectly legal to keep loaded firearm on school property in your personally owned vehicle if you have carry permit 2. School can fire or expel you for doing it.   - OS
  19.   In TN state wide politics, not voting Republican really is voting Dem.   - OS
  20.   yep, Marital Law is the real crusher. :)   - OS
  21.   So you'll vote for Tuke in the general if (when) Carr fails in the primary?   - OS
  22.   Whoosh.   1. "marshall" is misspelled. 2. and the actual term is "martial".   - OS
  23. Yep, thanks so much, will match my teeth!   Dang, gangsta as I be and all, had to look that up. - OS
  24.   Apparently they make a possum look smart overall. They're also dangerous roadkill, as they will jump as high as four feet straight up in the air when frightened, so tend to damage your grille or windshield.   - OS
  25. Just leave mine chrome looking, will really add nifty bling to my pistol. :)   - OS
