  1.   Yep, tiz that exactly. Dunno why it didn't compute on first look, and right next to dust cover too, duh.   - OS
  2. What's that in the widdle bag right above the sling?
  3.   Well the case gouges are from the barrel extension lugs when the round is jammed partially in at an angle against them, not from a burr. Trick is to find why that's happening.   - OS
  4.   Yes, I know it's probably not that, but weird things happen. Gas port or block could be a bit undersized,  that extra weight could figure. Just like puter problem, what changed?   I'd just always try the easy free things first, put orig buffer back, and then swap BCG, since he has another AR.   And as per Jonnin, sure a feed ramp burr could do it, but that should be pretty obvious?   - OS
  5.   Well, even though the 4:00 is right on, first thing to try is to just use normal carbine weight buffer. Could be is running on edge of being undergassed with the heavier buffer on less than full power rounds or something. Usually the opposite problem from the average maker, but could be Spikes actually used the correct gas port size.   Free to try, eh?   - OS
  6.   I've done better on eBay for quite a few knives, or if about same price have gotten them quicker than with 'Zon's free shipping option. Some of the same vendors on eBay are also Amazon suppliers ("fulfillers"), just like OpticsPlanet.   SG of course no go for anything over 4".   - OS
  7. Why did you put heavy buffer in?   What angle does it throw brass?   Does bolt always lock open on empty mag?   - OS
  8. Amazon, Sportsman's Guide, and eBay are my primo purveyors.   - OS
  9.   By first changing the first and basic premise of TN weapons law that carrying a loaded gun is illegal.   - OS
  10.   We are on ATF approved state list if we want to do that -- you know this came up in legislature last session, right? Had financial study regarding lost revenue to TBI, suggestions to increase HCP fee to compensate, all kinds of stuff. Don't recall any particular bloc trying to defeat it or anything, more like I think it mainly was just too complicated an issue for the pinheads we send there.   - OS
  11.   Hook and line, or bowfishing? :)   - OS
  12.   39-17-1308, "Incident to lawful hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, sport shooting or other lawful activity"   Basically idea is "in general public", no.   - OS
  13.   That is correct, without another defense/exception, such hunting and etc.   - OS
  14.   Oh, you can carry them, just can't be loaded. :)  And if ammo is on your person while toting one, it ain't unloaded.   - OS
  15.   Apology accepted. :) :)  I made some of my living off writing and editing through the years, so sorry, an old editor just well, tends to edit. :)   Anyway though, none of TN's weapons laws seems to be in conflict with the Zones Act, except possibly, again, the fact that TN treats all other states' permits the same as the TN HCP.   That's one reason I always have argued that the "non student adult" exception in 39-17-1309 is intended to mean an unloaded firearm only, which btw is of course another exception in the federal School Zones Act, though that TN statute does not specify a locked container or rack as does the federal one.   But it's clear any number of states have laws that are in direct opposition to the federal one, not to mention all the open carry states that require no permit at all, and whose folks come within a "school zone" without ever leaving a city street.   - OS
  16.   Excuse me all over the place and everything, but why was the part you included in your quote not enough?:   "No. Permit is an exception to Gun Free School Zones Act of 1990"   - OS
  17.   Mine are already all together -- only thing I'm doing is to replace the plastic fantastic lower on my pistol with a TGO one.   - OS
  18.   You have no control over how any particular LEO interprets a law until afterwards.   Besides, you've said that's not the issue for you, since possibility of expulsion is numero uno.   - OS
  19. Check PSA site daily.
  20.   Umm, because the federal act specifically says it is, at least for schools in TN,  as I quoted above?   - OS
  21.   Permit is an exception to Gun Free School Zones Act of 1990.   It is debatable however, whether another state's permit is valid, or just the permit of the state in which the school resides:   "does not apply to the possession of a firearm—   .... if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the State in which the school zone is located or a political subdivision of the State, and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license;"   On the third hand, seems the feds just don't really enforce this thing anymore to speak of anyway.   On the fourth hand, some states have laws in conflict with the School Zones Act, and seems none have faced any court challenges from the fed either.   The Zones Act, btw, is another reason I've argued that the already existing "adult non-student" exception to having a gun on school grounds in TCA is intended to mean an unloaded gun only.   However, presuming the new parking lot bill also is valid for permit holders from other states, and I assume it is, since all other weapons laws include out of state permit holder same as TN HCP holder,  this is perhaps also a conflict with the Zones Act.     - OS
  22. Well, it's coming right along! ;) I went really high end on mine, too, 8 whole clams! :) - OS
  23.   I liked Ike. Best I remember. Things were pretty good growing up during that time.   - OS
  24. Yup, so clear even a layman can understand it eh? (or at least should be able to :))   - OS
  25. The two PEPERs I have came with both normal and railed top half rings, I use the normal ones. - OS
