  1.   He doesn't remember, says he needs to see the video. The drunken stupor twinkie defense or something.   Cat is really some piece of work, can't believe I haven't heard of some of his antics before.   Check out FOX, they're gonna air it any minute if he shows. Shep is having a ball with it. I gotta leave, will miss it, dammit.   - OS
  2. Hey, the mayor of the 4th largest city in North America smokes crack. But he's not addicted and only has done it during "one of my drunken stupors".   So, see there?   ('bout to have a news conference, again, maybe)   http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57610914/toronto-mayor-rob-ford-admits-smoking-crack/   Also has a bit in common with Walt Kowalski:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DRjPugLCw4   - OS
  3. The "modified" rifle was apparently a .22, wearing  AR or AK clothes. Doesn't seem to be reported in print anywhere, but CNN reporter said it was a "point two two". :)   Probably a tacticooled 10/22, I'm guessing.   - OS
  4. FedEx Smart Post also transfers to USPS "closer" to end address. Most of the time it's transferred to USPS directly here in Knoxville, but pretty sure now and then I'll see it go into USPS system in another city first. I think.   But it's never 3 days.   - OS
  5.   Aha. Thanks for clarification, didn't understand the diff.
  6.   They're both delivered by USPS, but the Sure Post is faster apparently than Mail Innovations.   - OS
  7.     I've always found that UPS Mail Innovations (final delivery by USPS) is 4-5 working days minimum, so that actually seems about right to me.   Big diff between that and pure UPS Ground or of course UPS 2 day.   Same thing that Amazon uses for the Super Free Shipping thang, except they often manage to take even longer. (they just bumped up purchase level to $35 to get it too, btw).   - OS
  8.   Same reason the victims in thriller flicks never have a gun ... movie would be really short.   - OS
  9.   I got that cowardice or tactical fail on the bridge was the likely idea, but the whole focus of the satire about the round made no sense.   - OS
  10.   LBK (Lower Build Kit) has LPK (Lower Parts Kit) plus tube, spring, buffer, end plate, castle nut, stock.   Here's another one, without mags, showing all parts, just different stock.   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/psa-str-lower-build-kit.html   - OS
  11.   Sigh,  Memphis dragging us down again and again.   - OS
  12. Nobody confirmed hit, only rounds fired seen by witnesses were into air so far.   Reportedly dressed all in black with tac vest and "big rifle".   Seems to be all that's known at the moment.   https://www.google.com/search?q=shooter+mall+new+jersey&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#newwindow=1&q=shooter+mall+new+jersey&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=nws   - OS

Yeah I've gotten knives and gun doodads and whatnot exactly the same way. Not contesting your facts, really, I just find that frigging amazing!   Mine have always spent more than 2 working days just from whatever city in US they enter through, Chicago, NYC, etc.   - OS

You sure that wasn't from US warehouse used by whatever Chinese company?   I'm not sure anything short of FedEx's most expensive international options can possibly get you something from China in two working days, even given that it may have been moving on Sat/Sun?   - OS
  16.   Agree with first sentence, but not second. I fully believe Mitt lost because he just didn't project likeability and trustworthiness, on a personal level. I didn't like him myself.   Remember, at least a third vote because of some small petty personal reason, not because of big issues like you know, like freedom vs stateism, personal responsibility vs wealth distribution, states rights, constitutional issues, etc.   I actually think BHO was weak enough that even old grandfatherly McCain might have beat him the second time. But not weasel mannered, shifty eyed Mitt. Plus of course he was richer than Midas, and flaunted it, and envy is a widespread trait in the species.   Seriously.   - OS
  17. I don't get it. Are you saying it doesn't lock back on last round? Or when successfully locked back, there's not physically enough space for the round to go up in front of and into bolt face to chamber, in other words can only be loaded from a closed bolt? If the second, that would be an engineering fail of rather spectacular proportions seems? - OS
  18.   Yeah, they've never gone into any detail about their water purification or anything.   I think when Carol knocked over the water jugs, that I guess with one being on top of the other, it suggested a filtration system?  Which of course wouldn't necessarily be adequate against the smaller stuff in water.  Not to mention all the godawful chemical stuff that would find its way into water after a complete breakdown of society, that no filtration or even boiling or distillation would necessarily remove.   - OS
  19.   If I maxed out mine, doubt I could afford the first minimum payments.   - OS

Mike, not that simple: USPS,  UPS and FedEx Ground all move on Saturday for sure.  All three even offer special Saturday delivery. They don't pick up locally on Sat, though, except for Express,  so if it ain't got by Fri, it sits at vendor till Monday.   Matter of fact, Saturday is normal delivery day for FedEx Home Delivery, off on Sunday/Monday. Though terminal operations stop on Sat  night for UPS and FedEx, you'll see FedEx Ground tractors on Sundays too, as it is handled by contractors and not company drivers. Anyway they make their deadlines is fine. Not sure if I've ever noticed a UPS rig on Sunday or not.   Last three weeks before Christmas, I delivered 6 days a week for FedEx Ground all three years I was there and a couple of weeks did all seven days. Had to, with the volume we got.   Pretty sure some of both UPS and FedEx planes fly on both Sat and Sun too.   - OS
  21. PM9 my daily companion for years now, in Stellar Rigs holster: Love everything about it, except the necessary tradeoff of only having 6+1, but still beats a J Frame in both capacity and slimness for concealment. - OS

That new China Post thing they started about 1.5 years ago is pretty good. I've gotten stuff as short as 5 business days, seldom more than 8, assuming the vendor gets it to their postal facility promptly. It usually takes more than half the total time within the US once it hits here.   - OS
  24.   Yep, if BHO winds up being seen as a positive, Hildebeest can run on his coattails -- since that looks pretty unlikely, she can just run as a reformer,  present herself as yet another liberal New Deal, and plenty enough will bite.   - OS
  25.   Yeah, total fail at parody, couldn't even understand the intended focus of the jibe.   - OS
