NFA processing has been suspended
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Yep. Actual specific procedures of interpreting and enforcing the USC (United State Code, the "laws") is codified into the CFR (Code of Federal Regulations, the "rules"). - OS -
??? Agnew resigned, replaced by Nixon with Ford. Year later Nixon resigned, making Ford the prez. Speaker of the House succession would only happen if both Prez and Veep were vacant at same time. As far BHO being impeached, I'd posit the GOP probably has had an ongoing articles doc ready to go since at least 2010 if not before. But of course wouldn't pull the trigger unless the political will were clear in both chambers. Most of the political theater we actually see on the floor of either chamber is just formalizing previously made decisions. - OS

Why not? - OS edit: watched end of vid: you actually only use BB guns in the rack?

Good deal. That's fast for anything they have to fit. Plus they test fire them. - OS

The insurers are gonna take a bath on this. No way is the math going to work for them in the individual market. They're simply going to wind up top heavy with older folks, who aren't paying any more than young healthy folks, who aren't going to ante up in enough numbers. Matter of fact, 18-30 year olds have probably overall become the poorest demographic in the country, and probably at least 25% of them are Medicaid eligible and at least another 25% eligible for subsidies to pay most of the premium. And it's a laugh to think the "penalties" will take up the slack, and the small percentage ever collected don't go to the insurance companies either. The only thing the ACA is successfully doing is hugely expanding the Medicaid population, which of course is just spending tax money, or actually, mostly the money off the printing presses. Looks to me like BHO's plan is actually working out just as he wanted -- the gummit will be "forced" to step in and "save" American Health Care, by taking it over and managing it 100%. - OS

"Parking Lot" Bill Codified in LexisNexus
Oh Shoot replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, if LE wants to split hairs, statute does indeed say "in the permit holder's privately owned motor vehicle". Certainly that excludes folks carpooling, and borrowed or rental cars. - OS -
Except New Yorkers. They just elected a guy that makes Bloomberg look conservative. - OS

For me, if I wanted to fire it from shoulder still with that short pull, I'd just add a cane/walker rubber tip rather than go with that kind of bulk. Not to mention the 130 clams. Hell, 70 more and you could just SBR it. - OS

It was her second go round with him. Fortunately for him, he was on remote split screen, she might have reached over and rapped his knuckles. Or balls. He's actually more personally irritating than his brother DeadFish, achieves Anthony The Wiener level. - OS

You've apparently never shot one. The buffer tube on the AR pistol is actually its saving grace. Lay that along cheek and it becomes very stable third point of contact, remarkable accuracy. Even the compromise of shoulder firing with the buffer (not my style) gives good results if you don't get a crick in neck and shoulder. :) Pushing an AR or AK out on a sling for stability looks good on paper but sucks for accuracy in reality compared to using the buffer for that stability. - OS

Only emails I ever got was when I registered and purchased at CMT, as instructed in MacG's PM with the updated directions. I do get email notifications of PMs here though, if that's what you mean. - OS

Yep, that was last any of us heard, PM instructions to register with CMT and order, on that date. There was a thread, too, but it didn't have any additional needed info. - OS

Love the drop box choices in "registration" - OS

Yep, exactly. Just commenting on how to to be invisible with one in vehicle or on person in normal times. Notice I didn't recommend anything but a normal full sized handgun and extra ammo in the case of getting home on foot. Still think low profile stealth mode a better bet than humongous firepower. Then again, I dunno, real tennis nuts during SHTF? Hey, none of the courts would be be reserved! And for golf nuts, walk onto any course free! ;) - OS

Just meant that sometimes when a company replaces something, they send the new one first, but ask for the old one back, and include a pre-paid shipping label for return, even when you didn't buy it from them. I've had more than one do this, Tapco comes to mind with some Mini 14 mags. Although, yeah, one could of course stiff them. - OS

It's such a patchwork hodgepodge mess across the state it's been tough for a comprehensive list to ever gel, seems. - OS

PSA 10.5" pistol or SBR complete upper w/BCG/charging handle, less sights, FN barrel, free float rail, etc, under 5 Franklins. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/15089/s/psa-10-5-chf-5-56-nato-sqr-9-upper-w-bcg-ch/ - OS

So did they include label to return the original, or not ask for it back? I have one of them also: - OS

If you need to tote your AR pistol, this in this is pretty much gray man. Probably wouldn't want to tote it 60 miles though. Full sized handgun with extra ammo likely to suffice to "get home". If folks are shooting at folks on sight, I'd opine that stealth would increase your odds better than firepower. - OS

This all sounds fairly reasonable reporting, excepting the last sentence maybe: "Three people were shot near Brashear High School in Pittsburgh this afternoon, according to ABC News affiliate WTAE. No one is in custody and there is a search for the shooter, according to the Pittsburgh mayor's office. SWAT team members and armored vehicles responded to the school and surrounding neighborhood. Pittsburgh school district spokeswoman Ebony Pugh told ABC News that three students were shot as they walked to a vehicle they'd all taken to school earlier in the day. Their injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, she said. Two students were grazed in the head and one was shot in both the foot and arm, she said. Pugh said the victims were not on school property but close by, the mayor's office said. Allegheny Hospital confirmed they are treating one male patient who was in stable condition. Brashear is Pittsburgh Public Schools' largest high school by enrollment with 1,416 students. A portion of the same building houses South Hills Middle School, which has 580 students, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. The incident is the latest in a string of shootings in recent weeks, including at a New Jersey mall, Los Angeles airport, the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., and Sparks Middle School in Sparks, Nevada. This is a developing story. Check back to ABC News for more updates." http://abcnews.go.com/US/pittsburgh-school-shooting-shot-brashear-high-school/story?id=20879945 - OS

It is still called Mozilla Firefox, always has been. That's what's in the title bar and what shows under Help/About Firefox. It installs under a main /mozilla or /mozilla firefox folder on your puter depending on version and platform. There is no "Mozilla Suite" or anything. Mozilla is the blanket name for the entire open source organization and developing effort that produces FireFox and ThunderBird and whatever. FireFox and Thunderbird are both free standing and separate installations and programs. http://mozilla.org http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/ - OS

Are you on a Mac or what? I can't image that IE itself is suggesting you change to another browser? That's certainly very un-MicroSoftish. But anyway, Ive run Firefox since early on with Win 98, XP, and 7 (maybe Win 95 too, I can't remember) I've also used AVG Free for many years now, at least since Win 98SE, no interactive probs with FireFox. What was AVG's complaint? Perhaps you had some extension or addon you added to FireFox that is opening up some vulnerability that FireFox doesn't report but AVG does? Also you could check same in IE, btw. Look in Tools/Add Ons to see what all you were running, checked for updating and/or any FireFox notices about them? In IE, it's Tools/Manage Add Ons. - OS

The land speed record for wheel driven was 644.96 km/hr or 403mph. Car weighed over 4 tons, needed for the traction I guess. And jet propulsion wheeled is 1223 km/hr or 763 mph, weighed over 10 tons! Just what "record" are they trying to break with a paltry 560 km/hr? - OS
