  1.   Bizarre comment. If it weren't newsworthy, there wouldn't have been any responses here after I posted it.   - OS
  2.   No. FFL on receiving end only is required, whether it's shipped or transferred in person over state lines. Perfectly legal for an individual to send to an FFL in any state. Also, think of repairs/recalls, eh?   - OS
  3.   Absolutely not a requirement.  There is no standard spec illegal AR receiver extension for an AR pistol. If you expect to go back and forth between pistol and rifle with same lower frequently, it only makes sense to have a carbine or rifle buffer tube on it.   Simply always have a legal use for any groups of parts in your possession, out and about, or even anywhere on your property. Never have a part or groups of parts that can only be used in an illegal config. And do not assume a "pistol" buffer exempts you from that, either.   Also correct that barrel length is not defined federally for a "handgun" or "pistol", although "designed to be fired by one hand" is, so there's always a gray area in going over, say, 12" I suppose.. But yes, federally, one could argue that any time an AR is first built, as long as the stock goes on last, one has first constructed a handgun.   And as mentioned, TN defines "handgun" in TCA as "less than 12 inches". Not that it's illegal to possess something that is "not a handgun, but not a rifle" here, but I suppose if push came to shove could figure regarding how possessed in relation to the HCP.   - OS
  4. Well, seems to have been charged with felony aggravated assault and two misdemeanors -- domestic violence battery and criminal mischief, court at 1:30 tomorrow.   Don't see that her being pregnant would have anything to do with the charge unless FL level of laws are different than here, where pointing a gun at someone is also felony aggravated assault.   Here's 911 tape.   http://www.wftv.com/videos/news/raw-911-call-zimmerman-made-to-sanford-police/vGZq9/   Hey, sounds like he scored a Kel-Tec shotgun!   Then he calls 911 too,  and kind of bizarre, she's all upset, but he sounds calm as can be while cops are actually beating on door. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50159426n   - OS
  5. The sooner you get used to it, the less shock to the system as perception becomes reality.   - OS
  6.   Managed to get pulled over in Texas, though. :)   - OS
  7.   Seems to have plenty enough gut to me. :)
  8. Previous day's vid is out of synch with audio and loses it altogether 3/4 of way through.   Same if downloaded and played with GOM.   - OS
  9.   Both working again now including link to all his vids.   Saves in ".webm" with Download Helper now, though, dunno what zactly can do with that.   Edit: GOM plays them in Windows.   - OS
  10.   I demand she she be examined to determine status of charge!  Call in Governor UltraSound!   - OS
  11.   Me three. Sorry, synapse misfired,  saw "youtube" and translated to "facebook".   - OS
  12.   No. Last time was his wife (or already ex-wife), but he wasn't arrested.   - OS
  13.   For C'sakes how about a link, y'all?
  14.   https://www.facebook.com/howemotorsports ?   Didn't find anything like that there.   - OS
  15.   Yeah, didn't know we have ever debated whether he was Mensa eligible.   - OS
  16.   Certainly could be extenuating past circumstances (starts with deputy saying "I'm not putting up with this "today") and might explain why other person was there ready with cam,  but if so, really idiot PR on part to Cumberland Sheriff Dept. not to air them right away. Even the cretin deputy should know that a vid like that has VIRAL written all over it.   - OS
  17.   Thing is, a parent can walk into any school any other time of day and get their kid out.   Probably good that wasn't a Alpha Pit Bull Mother involved with that cop standing between her and her kids, cop or she or both would have taken some lumps at the least. :)   - OS
  18.     Yup. Felony, actually. You can do it intrastate but UPS and FedEx won't do it anymore assuming you notify, which you are supposed to do by both their TOS and federal law.   USPS is "supposed" to do it via their terms, but again YMMV if you notify as you are supposed to as per federal law in that case.   - OS
  19.   Can't find any actual news on it yet, just the vid and various forums.   Found a FB entry that says:   "When I posted this video today on the Cumberland County FB Community Group page where this happened, the Cops that are admins on the page kicked me out and removed the post. They want to keep the story quiet. Please SHARE the video."   - OS
  20.   Federal law only requires notification if going between non-licensees, so best not to mention firearm at USPS, as YMMV depending on which idiot you get.  There's a FAQ somewhere on ATF site saying all shipments require it, but it's not correct.   UPS and FedEx require notification as per their TOS, but USPS does not, there's only the requirements under federal law.   - OS
  21. USPS will probably be a bit cheaper than UPS or FedEx Ground but not by a whole lot. Standard Post cheaper than Priority, but usually priced so close hardly worth the savings.   FedEx Ground is usually cheapest of the three for heavier stuff, but if that weighs in under 10 lbs, probably not.   Prob with UPS is you have to go to hub if using retail counter to ship firearm, not sure about FedEx, and both require notification as per their own TOS.   - OS
  22. Last week, Cumberland County, TN   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8r-bdcvx8E
  23. No details yet, except arrested for some kind of disturbance in FL again.   - OS
  24.   You can't attach them straight from computer, right?. Must use offsite storage and link.   Most here use PhotoBucket, I use my ISP space (Comcast):   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56680-faq-how-do-i-post-pictures-here/   - OS
  25.   True, though. Peach Springs, AZ uses them to get mail to bottom of Grand Canyon where there are 450 residents.   Mail gets to Leconte Lodge in Smokies via llama, though they ain't USPS llamas. :)   - OS
