  1. You can say "damn" here. :)   - OS
  2.   And the lollygagging there is unsafe. The longer you are opposite another vehicle at high speed on the open road, the greater the risk. Just takes a second to swerve over into your lane from inattention, distraction, sleepiness, whatever.   Folks who take minutes to get around a semi make me especially cringe.   - OS
  3.   Burglary is at least a D level felony regardless of amount taken.   Theft varies by amount but felony levels start at $501.   - OS
  4.   Not gonna swear by it, but I've never seen anything to indicate that the theft itself is.   - OS
  5.   Yeah, I'd say that's about as good a price you'll find. The TS was going for about $235 best price with no scope before Sandy Hook, and though prices have come down from the panic, they've still stayed higher than before that on most rifles except ARs.   - OS
  6.   What are those "many more options" in pistol caliber carbine for "not much more money"?   I can realistically think of only one that really fits that, the KT Sub 2000, if you can find one for less than twice as much lately, but the HP is actually more durable overall.   - OS
  7.   Many if not most are sold to remedy broken off trigger guard pin ear.   - OS
  8.   Thought there's FFL rule about that, either in safe or locked in the racks some way or other at closing time, but seems there's really not, just "best practices" suggestions:   http://www.atf.gov/firearms/how-to/firearms-safety-and-security.html   - OS
  9. A "brake check" is an all around bad idea under any circumstances. Without it and the flashers, guy probably would have just gone on past you without the histrionics.   He could have been a sociopath willing to use a real gun, ya know.   - OS
  10.   Yeah, seems they've only been open less than two weeks.   - OS
  11.   With one glaring difference. Anyone can leave feedback for anyone, even when there was no sale, or indeed, even any involvement with each other at all.   Also, on eBay, the seller can't leave neg feedback at all.   - OS
  12.   Well, it's not like Turner himself was ever an on camera personality there or anything.   But anyway, I actually have thought that CNN had come back quite a bit mostly to center in the last 1.5 years or so, have watched them quite a bit as the middle ground between the constant abjectly lying enemy MSNBC and the occasionally unfairly slanted FOX, which does go off quite half baked once in a while.   I'm also hooked on Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown on CNN (watching his "Colombia" segment right now). Also, they're done some great feature length docs, like Blackfish and Pandora's Promise recently.   - OS
  13. Dunno the nuances of GA deadly force laws, but that could likely be a life changing "oops" for the shooter.   Guy wasn't inside the abode, unarmed, and old. Even without the Alzheimer's, initially sounds like situation involving a person not presenting any threat that simply going back in the home and calling the cops would have remedied.   - OS
  14.   I have medium on two of mine. The long one just too obtrusive, and can grip the medium just fine. The medium pooches out side of gun case enough as it is.   - OS
  15.   Ted was ousted from CNN after Time-Warner merger in 2002, and lost 7 billion clams of personal wealth in the process, and his last tie with the rest of Turner Broadcasting System where he was still a board member ended in 2006.   Saw a special on him recently, hell of a guy whatever you think of his politics, one of a kind.   - OS
  16.   "Removable muzzle devices (flash suppressors, muzzle brakes, barrel extensions, etc.), do not count towards overall length or barrel length measurements. However, permanently affixed attachments are considered part of the barrel. The acceptable methods for permanently attaching a device of this type to a firearm barrel involve (1) using deep-penetrating, full-fusion, gas or electric steel-seam welds or (2) using high-temperature silver solder exceeding 1100 degrees Fahrenheit. Depending on he dimensions of a particular barrel, it may also be possible to permanently affix a device by drilling a blind hole through the attachment and into the barrel wall. A steel pin that is flush with, or below, the outside diameter of the muzzle attachment is then inserted, and the hole welded closed. Tack-welding is not an approved method for permanently attaching a muzzle device to a firearm barrel. John R. Spencer Chief, Firearms Technology Branch 7/18/2011"   "The ATF procedure for measuring barrel length is to measure from the closed bolt (or breech-face) to the furthermost end of the barrel or permanently attached muzzle device. Permanent methods of attachment include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100°F) silver soldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over. 17.   Mmmm, yep. ObamaCare is the perfect example. Even though it had a bazillion pages, the "rules" were a blank slate, and now I believe take up more paper than the bill itself -- and almost every section can be tweaked at "discretion of Secretary of Health and Human Services".  If BHO hasn't already changed them first.   It's basically a blank slate to redistribute wealth, reinterpret completely unrelated existing laws, and further punish enemies and reward friends through the tax code, all under the guise of benevolence. Because "we're the government and we're here to help you."   - OS
  18.   Only MS can fix it.   I didn't even try surfing around with it. I've been mostly constrained to dial up for a week, and it was 3 times as slow as FireFox on that, too.   - OS
  19. No idea what "PTAC" is.   Unless they add more to the description when for sale, seems almost certainly not to be their fine FN barrels.   - OS
  20.   I use FireFox, but noticed IE 11 was on Win Update recently on my Win 7 laptop.   Just tried it in this thread.   - quote indeed doesn't work, either just kicks back to same screen or opens a reply box, depending on how it feels - link won't paste in - pic dialogue just locks up whole shebang, can't exit it to get back to forum   Didn't try hand typing URLs or pix links. Closed single tab in IE and whole program ended.   Sucks. Thanks MS.   - OS
  21.   Actually, it's 11 clams. Hope that's not a deal breaker.   - OS
  22.   First time since the 1920's.   - OS
  23.   If you only shoot sitting down, at 100 yards max, only paper targets, never shoot faster than one shot every 3 seconds, and its limited operating hours happen to accommodate your schedule.   - OS
  24.   Standard 8 round HP C9 handgun mags are too short to lock into the 9mm carbine (carbine ones work in the pistol), but I believe the .40 and .45 mags fit both.   - OS
  25.   On empty mag or full one?   All my XDs need a press up on bottom of mag to release easily on full one.   - OS
