Parking lot bill fixes: 3 bills filed
Oh Shoot replied to GKar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, TN gonna take on the Feds again, eh? Still waiting on somebody to crank up selling guns or cans out of their garage under the TN Firearm Freedoms Act. I'm sure the legislature will mobilize the Highway Patrol to stop the Feds from arresting him, eh? - OS -
He already has a more expensive one that doesn't work. :) http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/74513-dpms-feeding-issue/ - OS

another troll for cops video in calif
Oh Shoot replied to Dustbuster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This must be an old vid, as it has been illegal to open carry even an unloaded handgun in populated areas of Kali since sometime in 2012, and permits are concealed only. (used to be you could carry an unloaded handgun with separate loaded mag until they changed the law). Explained here by an attorney: " Published on Aug 28, 2013 What happened to California's open-carry gun laws? As the former Los Angeles D.A. explains, the legislature ended CA's open carry laws in Jan, 2012. Now, under Penal Code 26350, openly carrying an unloaded firearm is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year county jail. Prior to Penal Code 26350 PC, it was legal to carry an unloaded gun in public so long as the firearm was visible and not concealed. Now doing so is a crime. The new law is a further encroachment on people's Second Amendment Constitutional right to bear arms. In this video, a criminal defense lawyer explains the new rules in California, penalties under 26350 PC, and legal defenses for fighting the case if you get arrested. For more information , read our article at http://www.shouselaw.com/open-carry.html" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK31i0QbMnA - OS -
Get some other folks to look at it, hopefully someone who owns one before you decide for sure; you read my recent little red dot saga?: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/74087-vortex-strikefire-broken/ - OS

Big surprise, it didn't sell. Relisted at same 450 clams. Plus a ridiculous $40 shipping, which I don't think anybody mentioned. - OS

Btw, I had saved links, checked today, not showing as free. A different general search for his stuff shows that Amazon Prime members can "borrow" it for free. - OS

From Men in Black: Elle: Hey, Jay! Zed called. The high consulate from Solaxiant 9 wants floor seats for the next Bulls game. Jay: All right, let's put in a call to Dennis Rodman. He's from that planet. Elle: Rodman? You're kidding. Jay: Nope. Elle: Not much of a disguise. - OS

Bought one back during the panic, as was all I could get and didn't want to wait making a config. Mine broke in a minor way (piece of takedown spring/detente channel). They're sending call tag for me to send it in for replacement. Will sell the new one pert cheap if you'd like one. edit: adding response to another post: Mine was too small also, but no prob just using small blade to scape around sides a bit. My channel for takedown spring/detente was too small also, used drill bit by hand to open it up a hair. But it later broke a small piece out right in front of pin. Still worked but could see part of spring and pin in channel, not good. Otherwise, I shot it a bunch on pistol config, fairly brutal test really, and rest of it held up. - OS

Never heard of an upper shipping in less than 10 days from PSA. Almost certainly it'll come later. PSA's shipping notifications and integration with the website account section are the weakest part of the whole enterprise. Hell, I once got email shipping notifications off and on for two months on an order I had in hand long before. I'd say the marked through upper on packing slip is the most reliable indicator that they know it wasn't shipped. - OS

New Buffer Tube for Sig "Brace"
Oh Shoot replied to mcordell's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Yeah, it can't be stretched over adjustable position carbine tube, folks have tried and failed. :) - OS -
perfectunion.com forum is likely your best source for the question. Original folding stocks are pretty desirable best I know from when I used to spend time there. Might be possible to sell the stock for about the same with or without the rifle, actually, either there or eBay, and add a replacement stock to the rifle if you wanted to keep it. - OS

New Buffer Tube for Sig "Brace"
Oh Shoot replied to mcordell's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Main thing here and some other states is that there are significant legal carry/possession advantages to an AR pistol over an AR rifle. - OS edit: oops, I already said that in this thread. Oh well, will leave for emphasis :) -
New Buffer Tube for Sig "Brace"
Oh Shoot replied to mcordell's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
AR pistol accuracy stretched out on a sling is very poor compared to just a third point of contact with buffer tube laid alongside cheek. I've tried both ways and laid against the cheek is beau coup better, night and day accuracy wise. And of course, if you don't get a crick in your neck, tube pressed into shoulder is even more stable for accuracy. The Sig brace simply adds quite a bit more stability and comfort against shoulder if you want to go that method. And btw, you can get them for $110-120 in hand. And even better, using a A2 rifle buffer or just the KAK one, you can get enough LOP so that it's quite a bit more comfy, longer than shortest setting on adjustable carbine stock. - OS -
New Buffer Tube for Sig "Brace"
Oh Shoot replied to mcordell's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
There are beau coup pix and vids of folks shoulder firing these things. Indeed, there aren't many actually showing them used the actual stated purpose. And of course the BATF is well aware of how they are being used. I really do wonder if they'll let the ruling stand long term. I was under the impression they were too soft/floppy to make an effective stock, but I was wrong once I got hands on with one. If you can live with the short LOP, they're pretty much just like a stock. I'd also not be totally surprised if the KAK tube doesn't at least come under scrutiny, as its extended length has nothing to do with the function of the firearm, but only to extend the LOP for use of the SB15 against the shoulder. - OS -
New Buffer Tube for Sig "Brace"
Oh Shoot replied to mcordell's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
1. 70-80 clams more plus a year wait 2. with the Sig brace, it remains a handgun. With SBR stamp, it's a long gun. Significant legal advantages to an AR pistol in this and other states. 3. Tinfoil or not, tax stamp puts one directly on a federal gun registration list. - OS -

See my post 5 above. Or you can use the KNS take down pin and forget the spring/detente altogether: - OS -
14" inch spread sort of rules out head shots in hostage situation, eh? Actually, any precision shot at all. - OS
