Glock + RONI-SBS = NFA?
Oh Shoot replied to GlockSpock's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Yup, good summation. The "Roni-Stab" config is still a pistol. The "Roni M4 Stock" of course is a SBR. The additional consideration here is that once the Glock is registered as SBR, it remains SBR forever any time there is a short barrel on it, same as any other SBR receiver. The "Longer Virsion" (sic) simply converts to a non-NFA rifle. And since the Glock of course did not begin life as a rifle, perfectly legal, and it can go back and forth between normal GCA rifle and handgun at will. - OS -
Guy had a couple of paint ball guns or whatever, apparently to ensure martyrdom with death by cop, but apparently that was a fail. No virgins for you. - OS

Well, another Paddock brother was busted for child porn (not the oddball who's been yakking to the press): https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/vegas-gunman-stephen-paddock-s-brother-custody-child-porn-probe-n811461 - OS

So yeah, I guess the PSA receiver itself cold be wonky somehow. But since I have two UTG mounts that don't center on two different WASRs made in different years, and if you read comments on the UTG mounts on webstores which also mention the problem, you'll find that the centering fault is almost certainly in them. The UTG mounts also aren't consistent as to gap that slips over the mount base either as the two I have don't fit either WASR in same way, and the one I took off one of them to put on my PSA AK I would have had to modify, as was too tight. Which all suggests that maybe both the sight bases on the rifles and the UTG mount both vary a skosh from one to the other. But again, the non-centered position over the receiver seems consistent, and that has to be due to the UTG mounts. - OS

Well, whatever. But as I said, none of these are due to to the riveted base itself. Assuming the piece is standard size and shape, all that can be done with it is to rivet it to the side of the receiver. It could be placed too high or low on the receiver I suppose, which could only affect height of whatever mount you use. But it just can't affect centering of the mount over the receiver, that's all on whatever rail mount you use. - OS
-
If you think about it, a misplacement on the rail base on the rifle could only affect the height of the actual mount over the receiver, it's already as flush to the receiver as it can get, so couldn't affect the left/right centering of the mount over the receiver. That's up to the mount construction itself, and seems both the original UTG and the pro version are slightly short of top dead center on all AKs. - OS

Wow, what a game in Lexington. Big game for both teams in different ways. KY coughed it up four times, count 'em four!, and still won. Wow. - OS

Well, if you're gonna tote either of those biggies, MecGar mag gives the Beretta 18 rounds in same size mag, one more than Glock 17. - OS

That's really a function of the mount, not the base. There's really only one way to put a standard AK base on the rifle, I'm surprised PSA would even consider taking it back in for that. Yep, have UTG mounts on two WASRs, center of mount rail a bit short of top dead center of both. Scopes zero fine, though. - OS

Which ones, where? Here's 2592x1944. Sizes it down to about 1000px to fit in the forum format (running browser full screen on my 1600 px monitor) but you can still see it fully sized by right clicking on it, view image, + on cursor or similar method depending on operating system and browser I guess. The image you recently linked to in the tool box thread is like 1400 px wide, same deal, and I can see it full sized by doing that also, so??

He only ran for the nomination once, losing to JFK, but becoming his pick for Veep. And of course, after becoming president, didn't run for a second full term. - OS

You have to add a MOE rail first. The longest one has 11 slots, not sure how many a carry handle spans? Might have to use two. And btw FWIW, this is one of the more absurd AR15 accessorizing ideas I've ever heard of. - OS

Sincere condolences man. It hurts, but the joy she provided you through the years is immeasurable. - OS

Bama almost got the NCAA death sentence in 2002, severely penalized over the next several years with scholarships zapped, no bowl games for 3 years, etc, yet only took 7 years to win another national championship. Over the last 9 years, we've had no probs in that regard, have had several of the best recruiting classes in the nation, and have only had one winning season in conference play, let alone contend for anything higher. - OS

I didn't make out what was written on top of it, was 44 "notches" of kills (thanks, Internet Movie Firearms Database): - OS

Pretty darn good opener. Though as usual, you have to shrug off stuff like why didn't Rick just gun down the unarmed Negan when he's standing there talking to him with a friggin auto weapon in his hands. I mean, he went there to kill him, right? Watching Talking afterwards, where most all principals are on stage, bout 25 of them, kinda cool to see them all at one time. Even brought back a few that had been killed off. Mainly to celebrate the 100th show, amazing! Little "in memoriam" at end of this show in credits to the stunt man who was killed in July (still kind of unknown what exactly really went wrong) and also to George Romero. I gave up on Fear last season, but still enjoy the original. Looks like I'm far from the only one: Fear the Walking Dead : U.S. viewers per episode (millions) - OS

Yah, at least they kept it close (under 40 points). - OS

Hell, only 7 down after a whole quarter, that's actually surprising.

Yet most, including the one the OP asks about, seems designed to have hand in front of it. It stops the hand from coming back toward the butt, not from going forward toward the muzzle. Of course, a pistol has no stock, right? (I know, the brace tech does same thing). - OS
-
I've always thought the value of a handstop on a shortbarreled heater as keeping your hand the hell away from the end of the barrel as the entire firearm recoils backwards. In other words, has a projection that your hand goes behind, not in front of it. - OS
-
After the "flurry", just wanted to say, that's all correct -- except for the very minor exception that there's a definition of handgun in TN statute that says "a barrel of less than 12 inches". Not that there's some penalty for it, nor does it say what if becomes if 12" or more, and of course most all AR/AK pistol configs are indeed about 11.5" max anyway. - OS

I usually carry cash, but seldom use it for anything over a couple bucks. Since my credit card gives me free money back just to use it, I do. - OS
