AR-15 Bolt Wouldn't Lock Back

$5 part, just a hassle to get one in your hand as this point. - OS -
Been there a long time. Whoever starts a thread can select it if they want to mark a post as "best answer". Generally put there for folks who ask a question of some sort. It then shows up clickable as "answered" in green on first of thread listing, in case anyone wants to go directly to it. Look through some forum lists, you'll see some. - OS

AR-15 Bolt Wouldn't Lock Back

Yep, not saying I've seen all possible varieties, but I've never seen anything like the one on the left. It's like it was a process or two short of being finished or something. - OS -

Quit thinking counter pricing and services. You'd be amazed how little big outfits pay for shipping compared to what you'd pay. I saw it when I was with FedEx Ground. FedEx and UPS constantly bid against each other for contracts from companies of x size in any part of the country, and even more against the national biggies. I was talking to the shipping manager at the big knife works place that used to be in Sevierville, damn if I can remember the name of it (edit: United Cutlery), they were paying like a third of retail counter pricing and about half of individual account pricing. And that was with only couple hundred boxes per day, max. I assure you, these big places use shipping as an additional cost center. There are any number of the mail order companies for all those cheap Chinese household items you get the catalogs from that make almost all their profit from the shipping differential. Even I can beat counter prices with my FedEx and UPS personal accounts by about 20% or more. - OS -
Even though this is my go to bulk 22lr ammo, I'll quit shooting entirely before paying a dime per round for it. Shame on PSA for even offering it for that is my opinion. - OS

Oh yeah, this will work: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/01/foghorn/ny-legal-50-round-ar-15-magazine-new-fab-defense/ - OS

It's also a Spanish marketed energy drink, so ya got that going for ya, too. ;) - OS

People have been saying that for years. I'd say their standard on that is pretty much what it's going to be, a trade off for the deals. - OS

Yep, that's how it's supposed to work, including intrastate shipment of a long gun to a non-licensee, or theoretically any firearm to yourself in any state, but plenty of reports of hassles, depending on station and clerk. Here is current UPS TOS: "UPS accepts packages containing firearms (as defined by Title 18, Chapter 44, and Title 26, Chapter 53 of the United States Code) for transportation only (a) between licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, and licensed collectors (as defined in Title 18, Chapter 44 of the United States Code), and government agencies and ( b ) where not otherwise prohibited by federal, state or local law (i) from an individual to a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector; and (ii) from a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to an individual." http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/guidelines/firearms.html?srch_pos=1&srch_phr=firearms - OS

Yeah, that's wise. Also, IF you can get through to the PSA FFL dept (803-724-6932, ffl@palmettostatearmory.com) you can see if your FFL is already on file with them. PSA has actually called and emailed me in the past when there was a prob with my FFL, but no guarantees on that I guess. - OS

You are indeed wrong about that in TN. - OS

There is now no way to ship a handgun between unlicensed individuals assuming you follow both UPS and FedEx Terms of Service, and federal law. UPS changed theirs about 6 months ago to same as FedEx, and of course you can't use USPS. Both UPS and FedEx require notification of firearm in shipment, and federal law requires same for shipments not going to a licensee. Even shipping a long gun through USPS is problematic too. - OS

Wears an esoteric logo I wasn't familiar with, I won't spoil your sleuthing. Here in a different finish: - OS

You actually believe UPS charges them what they charge you? Their shipping charges are certainly not revenue neutral. Price the same thing yourself from you to them at individual non-account holder rate, and also remember they are paying quite a bit less due to volume contract. - OS -
And yet another case of where background checks, registration, ban of "assault weapons", or hicap mags would have done zip to prevent it. - OS

As always can only speak for myself. I actually didn't do as well with the likker and wimmen, but so far so good with guns and credit cards. Batting .500. - OS

Aha, upon re-reading, you're right. Got impression he was MD resident going to NJ. Indeed, he was traveling from his resident in FL. Just shows then, there are shared databases everywhere and we just don't know the extent of them. How else could the cop have known, unless MD gets both the FL permit and license databases, and put them together themselves? Doesn't sound like the kind of guy who would have a NRA sticker on his car or something, but anything's possible I guess. - OS

Credit cards are great, as long as you don't use them for loans. They're given me 500-2,000 bucks per year in free cash. For nothing. For spending what I would anyway in a much more convenient way than cash or checks. Just like guns and liquor and wimmen, treat them responsibly and all is good. - OS

I wonder he this was actually consummated? No followup stories, and Zim has neither received nor given any feedback on eBay. Winner had FB of 3. - OS

I'll just stick to one that puts free bucks back in my wallet every year for what I spend anyway. I give NRA and NRA-ILA what I want to regardless. - OS

Just read the statutes for yourself if you like at: http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/ You want section 39-17-13xx. 39-17-1321 specifically, for carry and booze. As far as guns and booze, - you can carry anywhere booze is sold for on-site consumption or of course carry-out also. - take one sip of booze there and it's a Class A misdemeanor, also same penalty for being under the influence and carrying anywhere. - if you are also found to be under the influence in alcohol serving establishment, you lose permit for 3 years also. - OS
