  1.   It's a block away from some of the most expensive downtown digs you can buy here, which to my understanding stay full occupancy. Most of them converted multi-storied buildings much the same as these.   Hell, even the downtown Y where I go, built in the 30's, the top two floors have been private residences for a good while now.   - OS
  2.   I've seen some Henry commercials over the last year, but I guess not on the Big Three?   - OS
  3.   23.8 cents per round with shipping. But you do get that huge box of 50 rounds. :)   - OS
  4. Hadn't perused the list in a while,  thanks. Frigging still scarey.   - OS
  5.   Thanks for the details, had no idea, I've walked that section of Jackson quite a few times, always thought they were about ready to fall down by themselves...
  6. Before everybody gets carried away, NFL doesn't allow any firearms ads at all, among other things, so Daniel Defense wasn't singled out.   Matter of fact, one commentator asserts the NFL never even saw this ad because it wasn't submitted, though he said NFL said of course it wouldn't have been accepted if it had.   - OS
  7.   They already looked like movie set facades to me. Obviously there was more internal structure than what met the eye though.   - OS
  8.   I'm a bit surprised a big fire was even possible in the already gutted structures.   - OS
  9.   Of course, it's almost totally unenforceable for individual sellers due to both logistic and fiscal reasons. Flea markets alone would probably be worth millions per year in tax coffers if they could somehow actually enforce it.   - OS
  10.   Resale of goods for profit in TN requires sales tax (except for certain exceptions, like to non-profits/schools and whatnot)  even if you paid TN sales tax to acquire the item in the first place. If you mean the .10/box ammo tax, no.   If your gross sales are $400/month, you're supposed to register with tax office, but whether they are or not, you are indeed supposed to collect and pay them to state.   - OS
  11. I expect Peyton to surgically excise that great defense with mostly short passes.   - OS
  12.   I got Wolf and Monarch for dime cheaper per round in hand not long ago, think I'll stick to the Russian steel unless I can find some good reports on this.   Not too many hits with search, but the few aren't encouraging:   Thread: Worst 5.56/.223 ammo ever: Your personal experience?   Another mentions can't really be reloaded, flash hole too small.   Might be Century is the actual importer, HotShot the brand they're using, whatever.   etc   - OS   edit: here's some USA brass cased .223 at PSA just a bit cheaper:   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/federal-american-eagle-223-55gr-fmj-ae223af-30rd.html   - OS
  13.   Lair! Den! Cave!  That'll show the bastard.     sorry, :)   - OS
  14.   Any good?   HotShot must be the importer, like Wolf. I see they used to sell lots of 7.62x39 which was from Ukraine, has varying reviews, but this says Romanian made. Says SS109 bullet, but doesn't really claim NATO spec, though, so....?   - OS
  15.   Letter b with ) makes B) with the BB code onsite. c in parentheses makes (C)   (You have to edit and add some spaces if you want to fix it. You can turn BB code off in a post, but it seems to show right back up when someone quotes it.)   - OS
  16. Yep, was glad to see Doug here last year when he first appeared. Besides being a KnifeRights member, I also have a mighty Ritter RSC :) Actually, I need to check into my KR membership, seems I should have renewed by now, don't believe I got any notices.... - OS
  17. Nukie Brown was considered street derelict brown bag class when I went to Northern England in the 70's -- had the highest alkeehaul content was its claim to fame, sort of the Ripple of brewed stuff.   - OS
  18.   Yeah, I guess under these guidelines they'd have let Al Capone out.   - OS
  19.   If blade length is removed, can't think of any other statute that would make carrying a sword cane illegal myself, especially since  "any other implement for infliction of serious bodily injury or death that has no common lawful purpose" would be struck also.   The changes do not include zapping the prohibition on "clubs" however.   - OS
  20.   Dunno which version you're reading where. A bill is not a law.     (edit to add):     That was indeed the bill that did NOT pass in the form seen there.  Was amended to only state exemption for existing laws, which did pass. The only change last year was as I said, that local jurisdiction cannot make any more restrictive knife laws than state ones and none were grandfathered as they are regarding firearms.   It is still currently a Class A misdemeanor for carrying a knife with blade over 4"  in public and same for carrying a switchblade/gravity knife anywhere.   And btw, as per your post in other forum,  knuckles were not called to be made legal in the bill cited above, nor in the one currently afoot.   - OS
  21.   Don't believe it has been shortened in this example unless it started out as 6 inch model or something, and remilled to hold the front sight again. (edit: no, looking at 6" model, that wouldn't have worked either, unless they took a rail from the 4" one).   And it's not a roll pin, but an Allen or Torx screw that holds the front sight, and it only has the hole on the right side. I have 4" and 5" models myself.  Look at yours.   - OS
  22.   Thought that's what you meant. The rate is not higher for "ORM-D Cartridges, Small Arms" shipped Ground from UPS, just charged by weight like any other shipment. Minus any discount by volume contract.   Even limited quantities of lots of fully regulated Hazmat stuff isn't a higher rate if shipped Ground. They both just require the proper labeling.   - OS
  23. Haslam didn't show! His office said something about BHO being late, and Haslam had an out of state meeting scheduled, couldn't wait for him. :)   - OS
  24.   Again I ask, what did you mean in your post 11, "Nope. They locked up the ORD price." ?   - OS
  25. Yes, it's the only way they come. The rear end of the rail also functions as a top rail/guide for the slide too, so you couldn't do away with it entirely. - OS
