  1.   I didn't even know they could get that fat. Animal cruelty, thing's probably already diabetic.   - OS
  2.   Actually, the manual is not very precise regarding this, hence many new owners' frustration.   - OS
  3.   So what is you want to know about it? I found a good bit. Apparently early 80's, by same company that exists now. Follow the pix links to source for even more.   http://bit.ly/1aAeAGK   http://bit.ly/1aAggjH   Here's one sold for $140 from TN feller with quite a bit of detail on it:   http://www.gunsamerica.com/928442842/Knife_German_Eye_Guide_Knife_Stag_Skinner_Mint_in_Scabbard_ca_1983.htm   Here's one went for $259   http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Carl-Schlieper-German-Eye-Brand-Trophy-Line-Hunter-India-Stag-Knife-356-/221236512434?nma=true&si=9mjMMLc1QugUt1DZb5Qa2I63ZIs%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557   etc   HTH,   - OS
  4.   Auto bolt release is obvious improvement, but most folks don't operate the factory one correctly, so they think it's broken.   You don't operate it same way to lock back and release.   to lock: pull back bolt, hold down lever, release bolt to release: pull back bolt, press and release lever, release bolt   It's works perfectly as designed.   - OS
  5.   Yeah, as I opined in original post, the statutes only mention "handgun", "rifle", and "shotgun" for the various HCP privileges, so a "firearm" that is none of the above just doesn't seem to be covered, since TN accedes to federal stuff on matters like that. AFAIK, the only thing TN differs with federal stuff on firearm config is that TN defines "handgun" as having barrel of less than 12" -- of course there's no charge for having one of 12" or more, but seems clear it wouldn't be allowed either, since it's none of the above either.     Really don't like it much at all, prefer plain handguard to it. Not sure yet I'm gonna love the VFG either, haven't shot it. I don't care for it on rifle, but with this short config, it really feels ergonomic and practical, we'll see.   As I said above, though, if I want to do it, a QD would work best seems, carry or transport as a pistol, shoot as a "firearm". I guess if I needed to fire it in a hurry, I could make do without the VFG briefly. :)   - OS
  6.   You'd have to get SBR stamp before you could legally even possess it along with the Glock, let alone mate them.   - OS
  7.   ?? You joined in April.
  8.   First feeler in April, actually came to fruition early December. Beau coup threads.     - OS
  9. Additional note: if I decide I like shooting it with the VFG more than without it, gonna make it quick detach, so I can still transport and carry it as a loaded pistol, just to be totally clear cut on that legal point, however remote the possibility that issue might actually arise.   - OS
  10.   The law applies equally to public institutions. What's the diff if a public or private institution punishes you for following it?   Besides, as you well know,  it's not unlawful for either of them them to do it. Good luck changing it, as far as I'm concerned, though at least half the folks here will disagree.   - OS
  11.   Still the same, I reckon, you can still buy them new, like throug SMKW:   http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/brands/Eye+Brand/41.html       - OS
  12.   I don't understand. You already bought a long gun from TN FFL but wanted to know if you could?     Lowers, like handguns, can now only be received in the state of the recipient -- because since 2008 they cannot be transferred as long guns on 4473,  maybe that's what he meant.     Don't understand this either, you mean, them order a long gun and sell it to you? Those two wouldn't sell you a long gun period, or just wouldn't order one for you, or what?   - OS
  13. Tada! http://www.rockwellarms.com/Store/ProductDetails/Sig-Sauer-SB15-Pistol-Stabilizing-Brace-Kit-Black-PSB-KIT-FDE - OS
  14.   People ... they're just the worst.   - OS
  15.   All state universities have not changed policy, employees still subject to dismissal and students to expulsion, as per TN Board of Regents. Link is from ETSU site, but TBR sets policy for all state unis:   http://www.etsu.edu/humanres/documents/FirearmsOnCampus.pdf   I'm pretty sure that the first lawsuit filed changes this. No way a court would let stand a policy from a state supported institution that punishes someone for following state law. I don't believe you see any other state offices forbidding firearms in vehicles anymore, eh?   - OS
  16.   Aluminum ones can be had for under $75 lately.   Even though it looked to be "improved", I sold my brand new replacement Omni lower today to a gun shop for $30, I'm done with 'em.   - OS
  17.   MASS is "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty". But no swords and no liberty allowed.   - OS
  18. What's the last one, guy is shooting up, or what? Did y'all see the layout in lots of the public facilities there? Seriously. It's one thing to be "pee shy" but lordie! - OS
  19.   Lester covered it pretty well.   Used to get meth back when in "pink hearts" (forget the trade name), the Desoxyn and a couple of other pharmaceutical forms, but generally preferred the dextro based ones; mainly because the better ones were blends with some measure of phenobarb and whatever in them to keep you on the planet while driving to California non stop or writing all your term papers in one 56 hour stretch while keeping your heart rate below explosion level,  etc. :)   Best were Eskatrol ("Eskies") and Dexamyl (dexies or Christmas Trees), timed release caps, so very steady effect.  Biphetamine (California Turn Arounds, Black Widows), and the old standard Benzedrine (bennies) were always available, but they were rough, no ameliorating downer in there -- even got some WWII military surplus bennies one time, I think it was the first upper formulated for mass consumption, fav of pilots, truck drivers and jazz musicians from the '40's on.   I would never have made it through college without this stuff, what with working various jobs and of course still needing lots of party time. :)   Dirt cheap back in the 60-70's too, as were pharmaceutical downs, too. Hell, I had a PDR as part of my reference books.   Anyway, serious stuff, ups and downs, not to mention the opiates. But at least with pharmaceutical stuff, you know exactly what compound and what dosage you're getting, which eliminates a whole other level of danger if you accept the initial one of using the stuff at all.   - OS
  20.   I don't think there is a state fire code, handled by each city and county is it not? I also believe that whatever you find may apply only to black and smokeless powder, rather than assembled ammo?   - OS
  21.   Any ole time, whippersnapper. :)
  22.   Yep, (non) purity of street drugs is bigger immediate health threat to the user than the drug itself, hence in part the high price for illicit pharmaceuticals. Though all amphetamines are pretty rough on the ole neuro-system over time, meth is no worse than dextro or others, but homemade is full of horrible byproducts.   - OS
  23. Haslam mentioned this in his State of the State speech couple day ago.   - OS
  24.   Well, there is no transfer fee buying from a TN shop, just the $10 TICS.   - OS
  25. Haslam mentioned it in his State of the State speech yesterday.   - OS
