TN Bill to remove restrictions on knife possession and carry
Oh Shoot replied to Capbyrd's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
This bill would make it legal for most folks to carry any length knife, or a club, not to mention loaded handgun or long gun. Doesn't address switchblades, though. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/76389-gun-rights-can-we-make-a-difference-for-tennessee/ - OS -
No, it was SCOTUS test case in 1992 regarding constructive possession which also resulted in pistol to rifle to pistol ruling, but it is subject to same rules as Dol mentions, same as for an AR lower for example There are some antique firearms that have their own exemption for one thing and another, though. - OS

Looks great. What's the grip? Not what CMMG is putting in the LPK lately, is it? - OS

Well, actually, from Nov. to March after you go up the mountain from Kingston, you become two hours different than the neighboring states from where you began. :) I don't see how a state being a hour different from all the other states in same time zone can do anything positive, but likely an extra hindrance and irritation in ways we haven't quite considered. - OS
-
The bill wouldn't change the TN time zones. Just that both of them would be an hour later earlier than all the other states in same zone for 4 months of the year. The national status quo being what it is on the matter, I'd call it another case of doing badly what need not be done at all. - OS

Looked it up after Mike.357 mentioned it in another thread: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_Detective_%28TV_series%29 http://www.hbo.com/true-detective#/ Gonna check it out, I see the 5 episodes so far are are in the HBO On Demand section on Comcast. - OS

Not to mention that an FFL on his end isn't likely to do anything with his gun without getting paid whatever amount, unless he happens to have a very good relationship with one. - OS
-
Catch 22. How is he gonna make the effort to turn a gun over to FFL for shipping so you can verify by phone with FFL before you pay him? When you pay him first, how you gonna know he's using an FFL to ship, or ship at all? Does Armslist have a feedback rating like Gunbroker? (sorry, I've never perused it enough to notice). I assume there's no way to use plastic to pay him, right? - OS

His pink eye was actually his pinko brain finally leaking out. - OS

No, the bill calls for ditching Eastern Standard Time and Central Standard Time, which is probably even worse. - OS

Parking Lot Storage Bill SB 1700
Oh Shoot replied to Gary Slider's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Btw, if you rely on http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/ for actual statute wording, they don't update it till late in the year, maybe October best I remember. - OS -

So they couldn't have at least cleared up the "private vehicle" part in same bill? - OS -
Yeah, I've got a script for Etodolac, a similar NSAID. Sorta like taking maybe 8 Ibuprophen at one time, but lasts longer once it kicks in, only supposed to do one per 24 hrs. Pretty much same risks for all NSAIDs though, more so with daily use, even more so with daily use long term and for, ummm, elder statesmen. ;) My osteo in lower back is mostly manageable though, I don't take but maybe 5 of them a month on average, I'm luckier than you so far anyway. Hope those babies do ya well. - OS

Gabe Suiarez Suarez still sell these? Maybe he'll customize them for us? - OS

I keep mine even closer together than spec, carbine and pistol. Sometimes have to charge the gun upside down. But always feeds. - OS -
Bernthal starting to show up with better roles in some flicks now ... I recently just saw Snitch on cable, not bad. - OS

I personally don't see a difference in considering reliability. - OS

Quite the risk, since you could lose your "right" to ever own firearms again by exercising same. - OS -

I'd love to go even though I'm not a morning person. :) But not being able to exercise my TN limited 2A privileges there also dissuades me. - OS -
It's the only realistic answer every time somebody asks about whether you can be convicted for it, or states that you can't. I'll add the TN AG's opinion to my canned retort to make it a bit more comprehensive. :) - OS

Georgia Arms long known as good stuff, everything I've used just fine except for some low powered cowboy loads out of revolver. UltraMax known to occasionally kaboom guns.

No case law we know of on non statutorily conforming signage. - OS

While you're carrying a long gun and ammo you're actually in violation of the unlawful carry statute, not just the postings one. - OS

Good point, I guess puter databases can probably make allowances to handle it okay. - OS
