  1. Actually, it's in SCOTUS' hands right now, was heard in Dec. - OS
  2. New physical sign standards set in 2016 statute revision, but 1/1/18 was date for compliance for any who had already posted in the past: "(b) (1) Notice of the prohibition permitted by subsection (a) shall be accomplished by displaying the notice described in subdivision (b)(3) in prominent locations, including all entrances primarily used by persons entering the property, building, or portion of the property or building where weapon possession is prohibited. The notice shall be plainly visible to the average person entering the building, property, or portion of the building or property, posted. (2) The notice required by this section shall be in English, but a duplicate notice may also be posted in any language used by patrons, customers, or persons who frequent the place where weapon possession is prohibited. (3) (A) A sign shall be used as the method of posting. The sign shall include the phrase "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED", and the phrase shall measure at least one inch (1") high and eight inches (8") wide. The sign shall also include the phrase "As authorized by T.C.A. § 39-17-1359". (B) The sign shall include a pictorial representation of the phrase "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED" that shall include a circle with a diagonal line through the circle and an image of a firearm inside the circle under the diagonal line. The entire pictorial representation shall be at least four inches (4") high and four inches (4") wide. The diagonal line shall be at a forty-five degree (45 degrees) angle from the upper left to the lower right side of the circle. (4) An individual, corporation, business entity, or government entity that, as of January 1, 2015, used signs to provide notice of the prohibition permitted by subsection (a) shall have until January 1, 2018, to replace existing signs with signs that meet the requirements of subdivision (b)(3)." - OS
  3. I dunno. GA/OK was an offensive slugfest, highest total score in Rose Bowl history. Methinks that neither team would have scored anywhere near the points they did against this year's Bama defense, but we'll see. - OS
  4. Even I got all but two or three. The way the choices were grouped made it pretty easy even for cartridges I'm unfamiliar with. - OS
  5. You don't think the NCAA is political? Anyway, I can't erase it 'cause you quoted it. - OS
  6. Mericun capitalism, dude. Ya get all the justice (and football) ya can afford. Now the web will be throttled by cost tier also. Thanks Donald. - OS
  7. That's Dawgs, I believe. So hey, Bama has first blood in Sugar. Fine by me if two, count em, TWO SEC teams fight it out for best in the nation, eh? - OS
  8. Helluva game, first overtime in Rose Bowl history. ESPN must be like wow, double edged sword, since they also have Sugar Bowl coverage which is supposed to have started 5 min ago on main channel, they're running it on ESPN2 without even mentioning it. - OS
  9. Why folks want same size gun with less capacity? Just for a bit thinner grip? - OS
  10. ?? Statutorily conforming no-gun signage is still binding, and the newer standards are as of today in effect for all. - OS
  11. Private biz is not required to have security/metal detectors in any circumstance, unless they are a "permitee" of local government, whatever exactly that means. The amendment you cite to 39-17-1314 does not affect private biz at all, except to allow them to seek damages from local gummit. Went into effect July 1, btw. 12. Meh, charged air guns around since late 1700s. Lewis and Clark carried one. I really just can't imagine anything truly revolutionary as long as the lethal part remains within gunpowder/bullet technology. - OS
  13. Beretta 92/M9 rails are aluminum alloy, obviously hasn't been a prob. - OS
  14. Presumably reliable $300-ish 15+1 mid size 9mm with good trigger (according to both Ruger and Harp). Assuming it doesn't need a recall, seems they couldn't go far wrong. - OS
  15. A 300 gr. bullet with a 2" long case, regardless of velocity, just doesn't seem to fit in "plinker" category to moi. - OS
  16. Well, I dunno. The American and SR series is priced pretty much like it's competitors, if either are among the three you mention. This Security isn't even striker fired, but a DAO variant. Who has a LCP II? Does it really perform with a "short, crisp feel and positive reset of a single action" ? - OS
  17. I don't think it's trying to be anything but what it is, their cheapest hicap 9mm. - OS
  18. Why here? That a zombie rabbit or something? - OS
  19. Of course that is all correct. And actually, even if they interpreted his explanation to trigger the voluntary admission for drug use, that actually has only a 3 year span, not 10 as I said in original post, so that shouldn't have been the zapper either. But really, it's not like all the folks in this division of TNDOS have exactly appeal court justice level of legal wisdom or anything, so OP will need to get some direct communication with Lisa there to find out just what their stance is. And unfortunately it might ultimately require a hearing and a mouthpiece to get resolved in her hubbie's favor. - OS
  20. The charge would be violation of the signage statute, 39-17-1359. 'Course you'd have to wait around for an actual LEO to arrest you for it if there's not one there at the entrance (and decent chance he'd just tell you to leave and stash the pistol in the car and even let you come back in if you weren't a snot about it). - OS
  21. In this state "brandishing" can well result in aggravated assault charge. - OS
  22. The other possible prob is that Lyrica is on the federal controlled substance list, which TN uses as their definition also. And hospitalization for that has a ten three year reach, whether you voluntarily went in or not, and I suppose they could have gone with that. edit: voluntary drug stay is three year, not ten - OS
  23. You may be conflating federal 4473 wording with the TN HCP one, which includes: ".... has not been judicially committed to or hospitalized in a mental institution pursuant to title 33 ...." No idea exactly how that is exactly interpreted currently, and not gonna try to pore through the definitions in title 33 for relevancy to the topic, but OP probably should. - OS (not a lawyer)
  24. Or you could have just looked at TN gummit handgun permit page: https://www.tn.gov/safety/handgunmain.html - OS
