  1.   $50 and not that it is likely, but up to 30 days in jail, btw, for any city ordinance that doesn't have a specific penalty in the ordinance itself, which this one doesn't.   Same penalty for shooting a real gun, or carrying a heater in city rec area, so seems a bit of overkill therein.   I know one guy who'll remain nameless who has iced a few pigeons off his back apartment veranda right in the middle of the urb here with air rifle. Shooting from inside the crib, the sound is quite muffled. :)   - OS
  2. Yeah, there is city ordinance, no air rifles. Probably enforced hardly at all unless someone complains though. (that is not legal advice, as penalty can be fine/jail and confiscation of the airgun). Note there are few actually "quiet" air rifles, and any over about 1125 fps do the sonic crack regardless of how quiet the actual gun is.     "Sec. 19-109. - Discharge of firearms, air guns, etc. ( b ) Discharge of air guns, spring guns, etc. It shall further be unlawful for any person to fire or discharge any air gun or air pistol, spring gun or spring pistol, or other device or firearm which is calculated or intended to propel or project a bullet, pellet, air or similar projectile, within the city."   You would also be in violation of TWRA statues to shoot a squirrel out of season or without a license, although there is indeed an out for that for "destructive" wildlife, but think it has to be your actual owned property. But the city ordinance sort of nukes that part I guess.   - OS
  3. That is impressive, as I had to pay for shipping on my new NEOS a good while ago, guess they have changed policy.   - OS
  4.   So just buy Barnaul or Wolf (probably Barnaul too) if you don't want to shoot the 7n.   One thing about all ammo, regardless of the reasons, I've never seen any of it get cheaper over time.   - OS
  5.     I forgot to ask about breaking up a box into baggies, though. TCA does say that each "container" must have a stamp, but dunno if that can be translated as to repackaging already taxed ammo.   Since max penalty of selling untaxed ammo is only a Class 3 'meanor and confiscation of the ammo, it seems logical that enforcement regarding the average small peddler is not a high priority. Then again, a quick stroll through a big gun show would be pretty easy pickins for anybody selling unstamped boxes, I guess.   - OS
  6.   I don't think he ever actually sold any 5.45 "kits" or more importantly, full firearms. (also, he no longer has an FFL).   Anybody can make a pistol out of any caliber they want as long as they can start with a receiver that was not first built as a rifle, it took someone releasing a fully made retail firearm to apparently trigger the hoopla, and some outfit has been cited as the one that recently came under ATF's notice on this, can't find it right off.   But at any rate, I don't think any of Lenny's shenanigans had anything to do with it.   - OS
  7.   Yup, see plenty for under .30/round. And that has already just been bumped up from cheaper. I imagine it will settle in at 7.62x39 price after a bit, probably a bit less since it's not as widely used.   - OS
  8. Hey, Dylan did Nashville Skyline. Loved it, but would have been really great if he could actually sing.   - OS
  9.   If that's true, then there must be a cause for the pain, beyond just "age"?   - OS
  10.   Well, we won't be testing the hypothesis. Fortunately IMO.   - OS
  11.   Methinks it's heavily weighted toward the obesity rankings.   - OS
  12. Got answer from TWRA Revenue Division today:   As long as ammo boxes have the first TN tax stamp on them, it doesn't matter how many times it is resold after that, no additional stamp is required.   - OS
  13. Bimetal bullets?   Is that really lead or a steel jacket? Deformation looks odd to actually be lead bullet?   - OS
  14.   Importation of all Chinese ammo is banned.   - OS
  15.   Yeah, Louisville, but I didn't know who he was by sight.   - OS
  16.   He also got sued for millions regarding supposed Ponzi scheme method of raising the money to buy all the Eastern Bloc arms in the first place, dunno if that has settled out yet or not.   - OS
  17. Myself, I thought this second half of season 4 was as good as or even better than any same span since the first year.   - OS
  18.   Well, the keymod allows you to easily add/remove them without removing the handguard, unlike say the Magpul MOE. Could you do that with your old forearm?   - OS
  19.   Were they before Magpul MOE?   I understand there's no free float Magpul stuff, but weren't they the first mainstream maker of "add rails as you want" handguards?   - OS
  20.   Usually I'd agree.   - OS
  21.   Oh. My. God. You're. Serious.   - OS
  22.   Had to look back to see what this was about, Joe is the leader of the gang. Was the leader. And he explained to Daryl why they were after Rick as they walked down the tracks.   - OS
  23. Well, federally, it doesn't matter if you are a company, corporation, or an individual, no federal license is required to sell or resell commercially produced small arms ammunition (as long as you are not importing it). State wise, first time sales within the state require the tax stamp on each box. The language seems gray in TCA as to whether that includes resale of same ammo. If I remember to, I'll call TWRA Revenue office tomorrow to see what they say since this comes up from time to time here. Obviously if it is required, must be extremely lax enforcement, or we'd know about it. As far as business licenses in general, they are "required" by most every county and city in the state, but you can be rest assured that enforcement hovers at about 0% for folks who don't have a storefront, except perhaps for the various professions that require a special one under state law.     Yep, dunno about any TN requirements, but certainly a federal license is required to manufacture (or import) ammunition for resale.   - OS
  24.   Yep, special forum for Zed, including TWD. 'Cause that's how by gawd important it is. :)   - OS
  25.   Ribs, yum, why would they disdain them? And in the South, no less? ;)   - OS
