  1.   Good for you! And all the others who it will allow to legally carry in car. Seems to take effect July 1 if I'm reading the correct version.   - OS
  2. Well, now, if I look at link again:   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=HB1480&GA=108   I see indeed that both Senate and House have voted on the Senate bill, and both passed it, so I guess it is a done deal!   Repeating between two threads, it's only right -- since Castle Doctrine is extended to the vehicle for some time now, obviously the firearm law regarding both home and vehicle should logically be the same.   - OS
  3.   edit; okay, never mind, I see where Senate and House seem to have voted on it now. I guess it's real deal.   That's great. It's only right since Castle law is extended to the vehicle that same rules for firearms should prevail for both.     - OS
  4.   Just posted in another thread, asking how ya know that for sure? Memphis paper only reporting I can find and the bill progress doesn't show it.   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=HB1480&GA=108   I'm half wondering if Commercial Appeal didn't screw up?   - OS
  5.   Far as I know, this is it:   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=HB1480&GA=108   Thing is, it doesn't show it being passed in House yet. And the only news story I can find on it is from Memphis Commercial Appeal which claims it passed and has been sent to Gov. Wondering if the paper is wrong?   - OS
  6.   They've done just that in the past, with whatever that GSG model was, with its "fake" suppressor. Hell, ATF even specifically approved that one best I remember, then changed its mind.   - OS
  7.   Guess I don't get your point, as the ACA did pass cloture with 60 votes and then also passed period with the same 60 in the Senate.   Do you mean there aren't 66 votes for the rule 53? It was still my understanding that a Rule 53 motion had to be voted on regardless of apparent support?   - OS
  8.   That's really bizarre part. If you hadn't  run through the other change-out variables with same rifle with success, I'd think misalignment with buffer/spring assembly somehow.   - OS
  9.   Probably non sequitur since it is malfing just racking by hand, but yeah make sure it ain't all loose and wobbly of course.   Bottom bolt lugs that picks up next rounds look okay?   Try swapping just bolts as a variable.   edit: never mind, rereading,  I see you tried that apparently.   I too don't see how carrier wear could be the culprit, but I guess not all are made up to snuff possibly. Bottom of carrier look same as any others?     - OS
  10.   Thanks. I didn't know they could kill the Rule 53 short of full floor vote, how dey do dat?   - OS
  11. According to the letter I just posted,   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/77748-tn-oc-bill-passed-senate/page-6#entry1138705   and several commentaries I've read on it, it's not defeated unless entire house votes against votes against Van Huss's Rule 53 motion.   - OS
  12.   According to the letter I posted, and various other commentaries on it, the full House must vote on Rule 53 motion, to bring it to floor regardless of committee as amended with no fiscal note attached? THAT is the recorded vote I meant.   - OS
  13.   No reason to think so. Officially taken off calendar by committee.   - OS
  14. Here is Micah Van Huss's letter regarding the bill. Seems rule 53 will necessarily have to voted on? If so, I hope a recorded vote is demanded, most especially if it is defeated.
  15. Ruger onsite shows all current standard models with the Hogue Monogrips, like my 6 incher: The do show one Talo distributor option with the insert: and the Match Champion with all wood: - OS
  16.   To be honest, I have probably sharted a time or two in every decade of my life. :)   - OS
  17. The closest state where you may NOT carry with a TN HCP is IL.   Here are the finer points of carry in GA:   http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/georgia.pdf   - OS
  18. Got email sort order messed up, was reacting to an old message I thought was current.
  19.   It will force the issue on local parts for any jurisdictions that rely on grandfathered ordinance, that's about it. Like Knoxville. Matter of fact, the day it's signed, seems clear to me that carry in Knoxville City Parks will be legal unless and until the City Council formally opts out of 1311 and erects conforming signage.   - OS
  20.   Looks good on paper, but the human right arm would have to be attached straight out from about where your right nipple is for it to line up with the right eye. Locking the forearm in just makes it work differently than holding onto it with no brace at all.   It sort of works okay if you cant firearm 45 degrees to left, and 90 into full ghetto gansta sighting is even better.   - OS
  21. I cook daily (for just me) but hard to say exactly. I go to Sam's every six weeks or so and spend average 3 bills, then supplement in dribs and drabs from Kroger and fresh produce market along the way. Sam's saves me yearly member ship fee just in one trip on meat alone compared to Kroger.   - OS
  22.     Yeah, surely didn't end as a nail-biter. The kid didn't make many mistakes, but those few were the diff.     We do appreciate your constructive and illuminating contribution to the thread, though.   - OS
  23.   It doesn't really work for that very well unless you also some kind of malformed arm. Really have to do a gansta tilt to get sights over into line with eye.   However, it's wonderful fired from the shoulder, comfort level on par with a stock, especially with an extended buffer tube,  and of course immensely more stable for accuracy than stretching it out on a sling.   - OS
  24.   The odds of you seeing anyone using it strapped to his wrist hover just above zero.   - OS
  25. Wow, what a setup for drama...   Bubba, Spieth, and the Kutch all tied early in final, Freddy only 2 back, birdied the first two.   Spieth could be the youngest ever winner at 20 years old.   Update while typing: Jordan Spieth leads the Masters at -6!   - OS
