Nope, that only applies to a handgun and PGO shotshell weapon. And you're confused even on that one, I'm afraid. A handgun (such as an AR pistol) if 26" or over in OAL may have a vertical forward grip on it. Only THEN is it a non-NFA "firearm". Remove the VFG and it's a handgun again, which has no federal barrel or over all length min/max. Add a buttstock and the same firearm becomes a rifle. And if under a 16" barrel, OR under 26" in OAL (or both, of course), is an SBR. A short barreled 26" OAL shotshell weapon must not have had a stock in original config, otherwise it would have been a "weapon made from a shotgun". And of course you can't add one now, or it's an SBS. - OS

Maybe you shoot a special rifled bullet (available through FA of course) through smooth bore to keep from throwing total knuckle balls. Or maybe it has rifled muzzle device similar to rifled choke tubes. Anyway, a non-shot shell through a non-rifled barrel wouldn't be a "rifle" or "shotgun" I guess. - OS

Can't imagine what the basis of that is assuming ATF says it is indeed a stock on it. Maybe they eked out some niche ruling with .410 and rifled barrel. Or rifle cartridge with smooth barrel. Or something. - OS

FN-49 front handguard blowing off
Oh Shoot replied to Symbolic's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Well, now that you have us interested, what is the story? - OS -
Are YOU ambi? If not use the original safety as JMB designed it As others have said, does it work without grips on it? If so, you probably need a woodworker more than a gunsmith. - OS

That was my point. Only about 100 bucks more for a desirable collector's piece in apparently mint condition seemed quite fair to moi. - OS

Bud's shows $507/522 for the current "blued" model. Plus whatever transfer fee of course. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/70172 - OS

Same here. Had my own heart surgery back in the summer, so can relate. Mine was quite unusual/complicated, but unless there's something untold about your bypass situation, hopefully it'll be duck soup by comparison, they've really got that routine down. eightsixfivefivesixsixsixsevenzeronine should you want to confab. best wishes, - OS

Found where NPO High Precision Systems JSC is the parent holding company for the Tula plant, so presumably that could be targeted, if indeed commercial ammo distribution is under the cross hairs. Haven't found any connection between all the other ammo concerns there and the companies listed, though there may well be some as I mused above. - OS

Ya know what's odd is that there's just zero babble about this on gun sites currently that I can find right off the bat. Generally the slightest hint of something possible in the works gets everybody all atwitter on all of them? Looking at original link in first post, I don't see any of the ammo plants specifically mentioned, although admittedly for all I know any/all could be owned by any of the larger entities that are. Am I missing something big in this regard? Is there more to it than this? (this is not a US gummit doc). Or can it be that commercially imported Russian ammo into the US is not in the purview of the sanctions in the legislation? - OS

Sure you didn't have the new EC9s in your hand, right? - OS

?? Not mentioned in specs. Manual shows firing single shot with no magazine, "TO LOAD AND FIRE (WITHOUT MAGAZINE)" page 16-17: https://ruger-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/_manuals/security9.pdf "So that the pistol can be used as a single loader, it will fire whether or not a magazine is in the gun if a cartridge is chambered." - OS

Wonder if the NRA cares if Russkie ammo gets whacked? Meaning,if they do and make a stink, DJT might change it, as he sure doesn't want to lose any more of his base support? 'Course, NRA hasn't made any stink about lifting the ban on Russkie firearms since he took office either, so ... - OS

Well, the heatwave starts Sunday in East TN. We go through some winters without even a 24 hour freeze anymore, this has essentially been a 7 day one. - OS

SIG P320 full size. Wanted one just because it's the new military heater. I like it about as well as any semi handgun I own, even put a light on it for bed gun. And I don't plan to have it "fixed" for the drop safe thang. (not my pic, but identical): - OS

Surely he doesn't out-weird you in that regard? - OS

Better carry a small tape measure around too, eh? - OS

The bakery in Colorado (the one before SCOTUS now) also lost in the state courts. - OS

Anyone notice that this whole signage change leaves out mention of other "weapons". Like knives? The statute itself mentions "weapons" several times, but the signage requirement only mentions "firearms". - OS

?? Your comment I just quoted was an hour ago. - OS

That's what he said, back on 30 September, when he mentioned sea gulls in the Kroger parking lot. - OS

Heck, the very first signage ever called for, before gun buster counted, was several paragraphs. This one ain't so bad: - OS

There's no "either" or "or" in there, no reason to think it's not all inclusive seems to me. First part specifies the required wording, second part the required visual. - OS
