  1.   Best I remember there are two check boxes somewhere near top, "renewal" and "duplicate"?   - OS
  2. That's an incredible looker. You need have aluminum grip milled or something, or at least paint it silver! ;)   - OS
  3. So what's the story on those kind of kits?   Like, are they full auto that have been "destroyed" enough so can be imported as parts, or from countries that we don't allow import of whole rifles from, or what?   - OS
  4.   Hard to get an incumbent sheriff out without a scandal that everybody knows about.   We've got a typical corrupt power broker type here again, JJ. Jones,  has provided all kinds of perks for the in crowd who appointed him (not elected) to begin with, including the former long serving corrupt power broker sheriff who was actually de-certificated as a LEO at one point, eventually ruled not eligible for by state supreme court, etc.   Just lots of dirt involved with sheriffs around the state seems, always was and still is.   Oh, and course, Jones won the primary handily today and will the general election too.   - OS
  5.   Would have to have two triggers though, or currently illegal.   - OS
  6.   There is no prohibition against concealing a knife now.   - OS

    Non-NFA SBR?

Yep. People have put the brace on some normal pistol tubes that were very tight fit too, and when they tried to use a different tube the SB15 had stretched out to where they had to do the tape thing too.   Although some seem to have had success with oven or hot water to to get brace to return close to normal (yeah, you'd think it would make it bigger, not smaller).   Main thing with using a rifle tube is that you need to tap takedown pin and detente channel and use set screw, or just forget them altogether and use KNS pin. Or the new lower that Cap mentioned, which I'd not heard of before.   - OS

    Non-NFA SBR?

Folks say it needs to be built up with a round or three of electrical tape or whatever for snug fit is all.   Then one of a couple of solutions for the takedown pin detente/spring, since no butt plate.   - OS
  9. Wow, where did you get all the aqua blue components? I like it! ;)   - OS

Another option is to use rifle buffer tube.   I find the 12" LOP just fine though, and I'm 6' 2". Same as Crickett rifle, about .5" shorter than Ruger American Compact, heck only an inch diff between it and a WASR.   Again, the upright pistol grip for a short LOP makes an amazing diff for such a small variable.   - OS

It's Da Bomb. That's the second castle nut version in your link, which is on my heater above, also make one that doesn't use it.   Gives 12" LOP. They have spacers to set it back up to another 1.8" also.   A more upright grip like the MOE K2 on mine makes a huge difference in ergonomics also.   - OS
  12.     Racist, even !   Hell, I like all kinds of mustard, but even prefer mayo on hot dogs.   - OS

I liked it a lot before the SB15, now I love it. Any aesthetic reservations pale compared to the functionality: Possible esoteric legal issues: - with the VFG attached, it's not a "handgun", so HCP doesn't cover it. And if you conceal it on person, federally becomes an AOW. - also technically can't possess it loaded in vehicle, since it's not a "handgun", "rifle", or "shotgun". (this changes as of July1, where any "firearm" is okay) Main reason I made the VFG quick detach. - OS
  14. I use the occasional what Hemingway described as a "five dollar word", but it's just what comes up naturally in train of thought, can't override a fairly classical Engleesh education without consciously trying.   I'm more irritated with common words misused. The usual there/their/they're and it's/its and the like don't gall me much, but some others do for some reason, like:   "weary" when most of the time the person means "wary" or "leery"   "discrete" when it usually should be "discreet"   "marshal law"   others?   But for the "5 dollar word of the day" theme, I'll toss in:   ecdysiast : A performer who provides erotic entertainment by undressing to music   :)   - OS
  15.   My two faves:   - you can be convicted of Class A Misdemeanor for carrying in a prohibited park even if there is no signage at all   - you can be convicted of Class E Felony for stumbling onto a school ballgame while carrying even in a non-restricted park   So pretty sure he'd back up what I said above. And he's right, as far as how the laws are written, which is what his opinions are to be based on, the letter of the law as enacted by the ignorami on the hill.   That's why I maintain there's no "illegal" signage -- because the statute does not specify that if the signage is non-compliant then you are exempted from the law.   - OS
  16.   You like his opinions, do ya? ;)   - OS
  17.   Don't see why.  There is no exception in the statute for 39-17-1309 (schools) or 39-17-1359 (posted parking lots), like there is in 39-17-1313 for permit holders only.   It simply removes illegal possession charge for locations other than those that are specifically prohibited.   Seems would still be a felony to have loaded firearm on school property in vehicle without a permit, except in the act of picking up or delivering passengers, for example.   - OS
  18.   Signed by Da Guv. Just waiting on July 1st.   - OS
  19.   Logic will get you nowhere with TN weapons law. Nor with the feds either.   - OS

  21. How do I circle an answer?   - OS
  22.   Don't get that, "good standing"?   Meaning, I know of no statute which prevents anyone, including a felon, from possessing a legal knife. Which means all knives soon.   - OS
  23.   Good question. I suppose the further question is: has it always been unlawful to carry a non-prohibited type or length knife past a posting that mentions "weapons" or specifically "knives"? Point being, where in TCA is definition of "weapon" that includes knives? The definition for "knife" does not include the term "weapon". So,  I don't know, we'd need some qualified legal opinions here.   Obviously, being asked to leave under threat of trespassing becomes more likely at the least.     Nothing legally prohibits it, with possible exception of a posting, which remains gray to me.  Obviously, being asked to leave under threat of trespassing becomes more likely.   Nothing changed regarding knives on school property.     The "going armed" condition with a knife ceases to exist on July 1. The only penalty aside from carrying one on school property or possible violation of posting statute is using a switchblade in a crime.     Nothing has changed regarding knives in schools (de facto none) or in federal buildings (2.5" blade or more). If all knives are still indeed legally "weapons", then I suppose nothing has changed about TN gov. buildings if the sign prohibits "weapons" and/or specifically "knives".   Note that the prohibition against "any other implement for infliction of serious bodily injury or death that has no common lawful purpose" will also be excised, so they can't use that for your "bladed hand instrument that is capable of inflicting serious bodily injury or death by cutting or stabbing a person with the instrument".   So real question for me is:   Has a legal "knife" always been a "weapon" under TN law? If it has, I see no difference that the change in the law makes. If not, then I don't see that you could be penalized for carrying one past a sign. I suppose I  do see how places that do searches can prohibit you from carrying them inside, in the same sense that they can demand you wear shoes and a shirt.   - OS
  24.   Sometimes you can hear 25 or so from the same bird. ;)   Seriously, don't know how many times I've laid and listened to a mockingbird go through an amazing repertoire in middle of the night.   - OS
  25.   It removes local grandfathered ordinances that some have been using to do that.  They can still ban carry in parks and government buildings by adhering to provisions in the state statutes, however. 39-17-1311 and 39-17-1351 did not change.   - OS
