  1.   Remember to allow a couple of seconds between shots to avoid a hissy fit.   - OS
  2.   Well, we don't of course really know. Could have been original intent was to protect oneself from dangerous animals any time one was in the wild with a firearm,  too.   Surprised there's never been even an AG opinion sought for any possible clarification.   Where ya been FG? Have had to hold down yer end of the fort too. :)   - OS
  3.   Well, it adds a whole different prison into the mix. Wonder who gets dibs first if the Feds want to prosecute also?   Oddly, there were no state charges mentioned for the unlawful NFA stuff at all -- they are TN felonies as well as federal ones.   - OS
  4.   it's actually in the 800s, just cloned out last 3 digits in pic, as seems to be the convention anymore.   - OS
  5.   Guessing for whatever reason they were only keeping enough in stock for their builds at the time. And who knows, maybe they won't do this from now on either, couldn't say.   - OS
  6.   Read it again more carefully -- that section only applies to state property.   County/city "must" post as per statute if they forbid firearm carry by resolution. Whether you can still be convicted if they don't is yet still another matter, same as with 39-17-1359.   - OS
  7.   I am by gawd no way in hell for sure absolutely NOT gonna make another AR from whichever one I'll replace with this!   Probably not, anyway. ;)   - OS
  8. Had gotten in on the TGO CMT group buy 'cause I wanted a TN branded lower. But just never paid enough attention to notice that Predator used their own branded lowers in their builds, and I'm a Knoxville feller, didn't know if they'd sell just a lower, so dropped by there today. So if anyone else interested -- yeppers. 89 clams + tax/TICS. Neatsie keen! - OS
  9.   Answer is in Trading Post FAQ. (and it's "no").   - OS
  10.   Well, to clarify, since I don't exactly get your point, the "protection" in the TN Firearm Freedom Act does not extend to:   "A firearm that discharges two (2) or more projectiles with one (1) activation of the trigger or other firing device."   But it does protect SBR, AOW, silencers, etc. So you can safely build those here without federal license or approval. Right.   - OS
  11. Yup, Kingsnake, bunch of different varieties in US, 3 or 4 maybe in TN. That one most often called Black Kingsnake, Lampropeltis nigra. TWRA refers to it as both that and "Eastern Black Kingsnake" depending on pub. - OS
  12. As in, not finishing the pic link, or what? - OS
  13.   Machine guns not covered by it, Dol ... as if it would really matter anyway.   But even if just SBR would have had to have been made here though. Not just assembled, but all "significant parts" made from scratch.   - OS
  14.   Oh wow, finally, huh? I thought the father in law to be coughed up for that.   (my sincere condolences at any rate) ;)     - OS
  15.   Completely differently.  Current law (linked in post 8) is now that cities/counties can only ban carry in parks as per 39-17-1311, which requires signage.   No grandfathered local ordinance that banned park carry can now be lawful, such as the one that Knoxville has relied on (that didn't require signage).   You may be referring to the AG's opinion of some years ago that you may still be convicted without proper signage, but that remains an opinion and has not been tested in real world of case law.   - OS
  16. Proof that the low to mid range AR market has pretty much bottomed out I'd say.   - OS
  17.   Wow, that's some detective work -- how you know dat, similar user name to real one or something plus town?   - OS
  18.   Yeah, good thought, and surely that must be an significant artery for animals regionally, but those cuts peter out and turn into the network of distribution lines like in any city of size, a good distance out from where I am in the urb.   I guess the answer is, life finds a way on any level. And critters certainly find ways to live off homo sapiens, as their natural territory becomes ever more diminished by our own increasing infestation .. I mean, population. :)   - OS
  19.   Here I grabbed the PDF of the arrest affidavit, can see with one click:   http://routedriver.home.comcast.net/pub/temp/1359.pdf   - OS
  20.   Also felony reckless endangerment as article states.   - OS
  21.   The legislature adjourned a month ago, bro.  The bill you're referencing and companion bill in House both died by March.   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB1496   The only thing that happened this term that will affect carry in some parks is the stronger state preemption statute, such that parks/rec areas cannot be closed to carry by grandfathered local ordinances.   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=SB1612&GA=108   - OS
  22.   No biggie. Just cutting to the chase on legal opinions from those in the biz.  'Course, any lawyer can be wrong, that's why they have judges and juries in addition to attorneys. :)   But here you're talking about a person doing exactly what is not only not prohibited, but even specifically sanctioned under TCA. So even if he knew there was going to be a heist at 3:00 and didn't clear out the store beforehand and someone gets killed, his liability wouldn't be because of a perfectly lawful no-guns sign.   - OS
  23.   It has a safety which he obviously wasn't using. The half cock on a Cobra is not a safety. Or maybe he even carried it fully cocked, who knows.   - OS
  24. Old topic here bud...our resident lawyers say it wouldn't fly in this state short of perhaps proving that the biz owner had specific knowledge of an imminent specific threat before it happened.   But even then, wouldn't be because of a no guns posting -- think about it, how could someone be culpable for behavior that is exactly prescribed by state law?   Maybe you'd have better luck suing each legislator that voted for passage of 39-17-1359. Riiiggght.   - OS
  25. It would be instructive if we could find the actual final disposition of this case, and specifically, if his permit gets pulled also as per 39-17-1352.   If the statement is correct on affidavit, sounds like it was a "legal" posting, so I guess that part won't be tested.   - OS
