  1.   Yeah, gotta be rare to be pretty much a slob and yet still have tinges of that too.   - OS
  2.   Well, question is, "can I have a nuclear bomb".   But yeah, obviously nuclear material of any kind is highly regulated -- I'm sure you'd be breaking federal laws just getting the first load of unlicensed yellowcake, let alone the first gram of actual plutonium.  Can't even buy the processing equipment without whatever permits AFAIK, and I strongly suspect that "it's my right under 2A to build a nuclear bomb" ain't gonna score them.  :)   - OS
  3.   Or Comic Sans Bold.   - OS
  4.   Not here. 39-17-1302 bans explosive weapons.   - OS
  5.   There's Something Else That One Member Does That Needs To At Least Be Gently Discouraged, In My Not So Humble Opinion. :)   - OS
  6.   Reread that about a year ago myself -- the time span perspective, nature of human perception concerning divinity as (mis)interpreted through historical events, the cycles of renewal and loss without lessons learned and the like attains mucho heaviosity. :) Action junkies need not apply however.   - OS
  7.   If you're careful when. If not, no biggie, you just get the trots and possibly die.   - OS
  8.   I like how it goes all the way to eleven. :)   - OS
  9.   Assuming it hadn't been shot to death, 'd pay a bit extra for one myself, to get one without the finger grooves.   - OS
  10. Mulberries are just getting about right too, judging by one isolated tree I pass fairly regularly.   - OS
  11.   Are there other lawful carry situations you avoid?   - OS
  12.   I'd say a cop is unlikely to arrest you for a non-obvious posting, unless management called him and put him on the spot, then maybe.   I'd say a judge is unlikely to convict you if the signs aren't placed prominently, but might.   I certainly don't think that exact compliance with statute wording and/or gunbuster is necessary to keep all judges from convicting you.   The "legal" interpretation can only be ultimately decided by case law or revision of the statute to be clearer. And while the wording issue might be cleared up to be crystal clear legally, the "prominent" part is always going to be a case by case call, eh?   - OS
  13. Only a cop, then judge or jury could ultimately answer that. Anything else is just our opinions.   - OS
  14. Hell, that's nutin', I gotta a Hi-Point.  ;)   - OS
  15. That is really classy man, stem to stern.   - OS
  16. Hey, they make a big enough stink out there, Texas might simply ban public carry of long guns. I mean they already ban open carry of handguns, permit or not. They have other restrictive laws similar to TN's also. Neither T is nearly the bastion of gun freedom that many folks assume.   - OS
  17.   Dude, new 5.45x39 is about same price as new 7.62x39.   - OS
  18. Far out, had no idea, thanks. Hadn't look at our "limits" in some time. Wow, what a messy looking mess. Yeah "finger" extension indeed. Goes all the way to Midway road area. I guess that had something to do with the industrial park fiasco thang? - OS
  19. That's really odd, he mentioned copyright patent years ago.   Couple three years ago or more seems Mark put pressure on what's his name that was making the cheaper similar ones on infringement basis --the guy shut down for a bit and redesigned them so that the leather was round and for customers to cut to suit. What was that outfit? i know lots of folks here bought them. edit: it was Kholster, and still in biz sorta I see.   Then so many others started in on them too, including the big national makers, so obviously couldn't defend it anymore. There are dozens of companies doing it now, maybe a hundred or more.   Of course, everybody ripped off Tucker's "The Answer" which was AFAIK first way back when.. Then Comp-Tac cranked up with CTAC, MTAC and Minotaur and similar, and still at it -- anyway, Crossbreed was far from the first leather/kydex hybrid maker, but certainly gained significant market share pretty quick..   At any rate, I'd say his copyright  patent at this point is worth whatever he's willing to spend to defend it, my take, maybe easier against anyone making super exact clones.   - OS
  20.   Straw Plains is a actually a community name, well outside city limits, is in parts of three counties. Only about 10 miles to downtown Knoxville though.   - OS
  21. Yeah, think I misspoke about carry in fed buildings being felony, apologies.     Have never ever found definitive clarification of that, one way or the other.   39 CFR 232.1 is pretty clear, though, but a veritable slap on the wrist by comparison.   - OS
  22.   From USC 18 Sec. 930, Possession of firearms and dangerous weapons in Federal facilities:   "(h) Notice of the provisions of subsections (a) and ( b ) shall be posted conspicuously at each public entrance to each Federal facility, and notice of subsection (e) shall be posted conspicuously at each public entrance to each Federal court facility, and no person shall be convicted of an offense under subsection (a) or (e) with respect to a Federal facility if such notice is not so posted at such facility, unless such person had actual notice of subsection (a) or (e), as the case may be."   (a and e are firearm carry)   Note that no such provision for posting in 39 CFR 232.1 - Conduct on Postal Property., though. But the stakes are much lower, worst case scenario.   - OS
  23.   Buildings are the only federal property that is universally off limits.   But guess what? They have to be posted according to federal statute for conviction. Unlike our own state posting law, federal USC specifically says no conviction if not properly posted. And none of the POs I frequent are.   So that only leaves a CFR law specific to post office property, which is $50 fine and/or month in jail, unlike the felony of carrying in posted federal building.   - OS
  24.   That's the diff between states that start with the premise that firearm possession and carry of a loaded firearm is a right but with certain restrictions and TN, which starts with premise that possession of a loaded firearm is illegal, but with certain exceptions and defenses.   Looking at recent history of carry around the US, seems it's harder to add an exception than to lift a restriction.   - OS
