In was in PA. TN is one of only two or three states that have a criminal charge for carrying past a posting. - OS

Yeah, but full auto is not sanctioned in TN Firearm Freedom Act. - OS

Free Rifle Bag with SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace
Oh Shoot replied to whiterx's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Yeah, I figgered it's same as Drago, probably all made from same original manufacturer in China.. - OS -
Difference in Comcast OnDemand and Streampix?
Oh Shoot replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
StreamPix just has relatively small selection of movies, and they don't change very often. Dud movies make up significant percentage. I thought On Demand came with any digital account -- you of course just get access to whatever premium channels your subscription includes, but lots of free movies, and they change more frequently. - OS -
So is that still Bill doing it? - OS

TN Bill 1774 -- Lawful carry in vehicle without permit
Oh Shoot replied to RoDan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Federal law allows the states to override 18 USC 922 in determining age of possession and purchase. There are at least 8 states where you can open carry a handgun at 17 and younger. - OS -
Good bad or ugly on Berretta PX4 Strom compact or sub compact?
Oh Shoot replied to LenoirGunner's topic in Handguns
Not gonna look up specs again, but think it's about exactly same as XD Subcompact. Which, yeah, is pretty chunky, but that extra round capacity compared to single stack is mighty comforting. - OS -
TN Bill 1774 -- Lawful carry in vehicle without permit
Oh Shoot replied to RoDan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
So wrong. 18 year old can even legally buy one in private sale. - OS -
That really a stock barrel? Meaning Ruger doesn't show any model without iron sights. Maybe they've just been removed? - OS

Wal-Mart and Lowes (and most every other large chain) also sell online, ya know. I do believe more than half of Gunbroker sales are also from brick and mortar gunstores. - OS

Grew up with Maverick. Garner was one of my life long faves. A rare actor who can play his real age in various genres for over 50 years, and a likeable guy in every one. - OS

Always figgered it would be my defense strategy if busted for it. Seriously,. Course, once it comes to light, guess they'll just amend the statute -- but there has been the recent try to just nuke the whole thing, so maybe it would be extra impetus to show that it hasn't really even been binding all this time? - OS

Has previously not been until late Oct/early Nov Well, then you should get active on that, since as I have often noted, normal firearms are not even mentioned in 1302, so the whole parks statute is banning guns on a false premise, completely non-sequitur to the actual law as written. - OS

Tennessee Open-Carry Law Torpedoed by Underhanded Tactics?
Oh Shoot replied to Falcon1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Clark, Lee, and Wade are the three on ballot. Lee came in three years after AG Cooper had been installed. Chip, one thing I can't find, a "keep" vote gives them 8 more years, or just 2? I'm guessing 8 as I don't recall seeing this on ballet very often. - OS -
I'm older than you, and can assure you that the adage is certainly more true that not that "few good deeds go unpunished". On the other hand, yes, I still do some, as "few" does not equate to "all". Life's a delicate balance between lots of opposing principles, and avoiding being a sucker yet remaining humane is just one of them. Sounds like you may have come close to a Bad Thing happening, so I'm quite glad that balance swung to your side in the matter! - OS

Roger's has done a nice job resoling a couple of shoes for me in the past. Not boots, but figure he'd do fine on those too. Been in biz a long time. Kroger shopping center in short Bearden, in the "hole" area next to Ross the Boss: http://www.rogersshoeandluggagerepair.com/ - OS

Permitless carry in vehicle
Oh Shoot replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
No. That still requires a permit. Just because you can generally have loaded guns in vehicle without a permit, there was nothing in this revision to 1307 (unlawful carry) to exempt you from 1309 (schools), 1311 (parks), or 1359 (posting) statue, which 1313 ("parking lots") specifically does for permit holders. - OS -
I resent that. - OS

It's not. Because Russia has had the balls, backed up by natural gas and oil, to prevent it. And which is why you aren't seeing much of Europe making much noise about this whole shebang over there in general. - OS

Tennessee Open-Carry Law Torpedoed by Underhanded Tactics?
Oh Shoot replied to Falcon1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You know what, in the general election, you're right. I ain't having no part of sending no Dem to D.C. They're not all of a feather contained in TN, but almost guaranteed to become one with the Progressive Horde soon as they catch sight of the Capitol Dome. - OS -
Well, I don't exactly keep a daily finger on the pulse here, but haven't heard a word about City Council action on the matter, which has to happen first. - OS

Yeah, it was reported last night too. Some of the top folks in the field apparently. More's the pity. - OS

Oh, pretty much known it had to be a BUK missile system. Yes, Ukraine has them, but so do the Separatists, with regular Russian army trainers. They already shot down a couple of Ukrainian cargo planes a few days before with them. And the tweet and recorded phone call indicates they thought they had brought down another until the big "oops". Sounding like there may be 20 something Americans. Totals from that article are 42 short. We'll see. They've kept that part close to the vest so far somehow or other. Ukraine ministry adviser said 23 yesterday morning, no idea if he's right or how he knows. Edit: just said they actually have only found 180 something of the 298 folks on board. - OS

Dunno. I guess if I were a pilot, I'd take it up with management before I lifted off the ground if that's the air route I were assigned. :) - OS

Yes, confirm. The only way cities/counties may now ban recreational property is under the provisions of 39-17-1311, which calls for a formal resolution of city/county council and erecting signs as per the statute. Knoxville to my knowledge has done nothing, so AFAIK it's been legal to carry in its parks and rec property since shortly after April 28th (Haslam didn't sign it, it became law by default). I wonder if Knoxville is even aware of the change, really. If so, they're apparently just gonna let things kick along at least for a while without action, dunno. Be aware that our illustrious AG has opined that one may still be convicted for carry in a park even if there is no signage at all, though. FWTW. If Knoxville does ban carry and post, it's actually worse than it was though: instead of a $50 fine and possible though I'd say unlikely jail time, one would be looking at Class A State Misdemeanor instead, where the scores really change. Plus you lose your HCP for the extent of the sentence, which includes any probationary time too. My policy has not changed -- I don't open carry. ;) - OS
