Amendment to nullify gun legislation in Missouri!
Oh Shoot replied to enfield's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, if "you don't seem to get" (posed as a question no less) is snippy, I guess I'm gonna have to take sensitivity training to understand this new age level of offensiveness. Meanwhile let me apologize profusely all over the place to both of you. - OS -

You found a statement of fact as "unkind"? Since when did you develop these new delicate sensibilities? ;) - OS -

I'm assuming that barring health issue (mental ones don't matter obviously :)), Lamar will serve out the term, then pave the way for Bill in 2020. -OS -

The only way Bill ain't guv for a second term is if he croaks first. Then he'll replace Lamar in Washington. - OS -

I just said, they're dead. Our legislature adjourned for the year a couple of months ago. - OS -

You don't seem to get that the two TN bills died in committee early in last session? - OS -

To SBR or not SBR, that is the question
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
After looking around a bit, seems rather a 50/50 question. Apparently ATF has never issued a clear cut ruling or letter about whether 922r applies to a pistol converted to rifle (whether an SBR or non-NFA rifle config), and conflicting gray letters exist that seem to support both sides. Every time I think I might want to SBR something, I just read a discussion or two about all the intricacies and limitations both before and after, and I forget about it again. :) The SIG brace is heaven sent for very very close to the same end result and no limitations how it's used, stored, lent, or inherited, etc, and no limitations on where you take it either. Plus 200 clams for a long wait avoided from the gitgo. - OS -
Main thing is, what law could you possibly be breaking by doing it? Hell, does it even matter if somebody else pays the actual tab? - OS

Really? If you make it a rifle after import, it is same as for original import rules for rifles then? I've seen no mention of that from all the folks who have SBR'd them on other forums? Meaning, it was my understanding that it doesn't matter what you do to a pistol after the fact of retail sale, since the pistol was not subject to 922r in the first place. - OS -
:) :) Well, we've known about Ebola for almost 40 years, and the worst that has happened is this outbreak, which has only killed 700 people or so in a part of the world where health care is largely non-existent at all, so I'll let those with the heavy duty tinfoil worry about it. :) - OS

Well, if they cut the gore, each show will be 15 min long. - OS

Sigh, Yes. Different stories, but no conflicting information as you suggest. In NYC, the six had already been cleared, the new guy remains waiting official test results. - OS

Don't see why My TV would censor it. It's a "network" in same way as AMC. - OS

No statute against it. Many polls on actual election day are in schools, though. No prob where I vote early. - OS

Yep, mags are the Achilles Heel. As soon as the next round sits too level instead of correct upward angle, fail. Learned that early on with the carbine, took it out new ran a couple hundred rounds flawlessly. Loaded mags up at home, next time out couldn't shoot 3 in a row without stoppage. Mistake was I had used Uplula to load and it had spread the feed lips. I keep the feed lips on both pistol and carbine mags close enough together that they are a bit difficult to load, and I do them by hand. Bout time I limbered up my high end puppies on range rotation, come to think of it. :) - OS

No they aren't. Same as first stories -- the lady in Britain was shown to not have it. The latest person in NY doesn't have official test results in yet. - OS
-
Yes, I've noticed that. - OS

Or not. From your own link in the Britain case: "Tests last night, however, confirmed that the woman did not have the virus which has killed a total of 826 people in western Africa since February." From NY case, we'll see, but already stated in your link: "The New York City Department of Health said, "After consultation with CDC and Mount Sinai, the Health Department has concluded that the patient is unlikely to have Ebola." - OS

Obviously if you can release it for under a couple of thou you can make a mint. :) - OS

A lot simply has to be "assumed" as part of suspension of disbelief. One thing never really mentioned is water supply. There was one token shot (and maybe a mention can't remember) of stacked 55 gallon drum water filter thing in the prison yard, but that's been about it. In reality, safe drinking water would be a huge problem, especially being on the move as most all the folks are. - OS

Tulammo is importation entity ala Wolf. Though it primarily handles Russian ammo from Tula factory, just like Wolf it also distributes ammo made in other countries too. Box also says "Made in Italy". So far I think this is only branded for WalMart distribution, just like Monarch is only for Academy. - OS

Not being a purist, I myself think it's great that there are domestic AK makers, the more the merrier. Might be only way to get new AKs ere long. Heck, even foreign AK rifles have to be partially fitted with USA made parts for many years now anyway. - OS

Not per se. The background check info is (supposedly) deleted as per law. The 4473 form is kept for minimum of 20 years by the FFL and is surrendered to the ATF when/if he ceases business. It is then kept by the National Tracing Center but is also (supposedly) by law not in a searchable database must be found manually for traces. The FFL also keeps a bound book for all transactions and AFAIK must keep that for good, and also turn it into ATF when ceasing biz. - OS
