What is the proper way to privately buy firearms?
Oh Shoot replied to bird333's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Only if the buyer knows or has reasonable cause to know the firearms are stolen, or of course is prohibited from possession. . Even if the buyer knows the seller is resident of another state it's not prohibited for the buyer to purchase it, as long as the buyer is in his own state of residence. Perhaps the buyer could be charged with abetting a crime or something esoteric, but there's no direct federal firearm law that prohibits such to my knowledge. - OS -

Then I suppose you could point to the federal law that prohibits that? Knowing the federal statutes to a certain extent, I would argue that it is not prohibited for a felon to sell firearms, only to possess them. Of the cases where I find a felon has been caught doing it, the actual charge is illegal possession, not selling. As far as the buyer under federal law, the only prohibitions I know of is knowingly receiving a stolen weapon and bringing a firearm back into the state of one's residence acquired in personal sale in another. Note that even in the last instance it was not illegal for the buyer to purchase the firearm out of state in personal sale. - OS -

I don't see any federal justification of that statement myself. Felons can't own firearms, but don't see that getting rid of them after a conviction makes the guns "illegal". Might be sticky in some states that have firearm registration, but just don't see any federal laws that could affect anyone involved in the scenario except the felon himself, who is guilty of possessing firearms during the period from conviction until disposal, if they should want to try to prove the exact timing of the events. - OS -
CTD had absolutely cheapest price on Zastava M92 pistol when I was ready to buy one not long ago. Matter of fact, the FFL I used to ship to had bought three or four from CTD on his own, they were cheaper than what his distributor could supply them for. - OS

I'll buy from Dicks, CTD, S&W, Ruger, Troy, whoever. My firearms bucks are predominately apolitical -- if they're selling weapons or weapons related stuff at all, I can only see it as a overall plus, the more the better. I'll let other folks attempt to put all the places that don't live up to the nth level of their 2A expectations out of biz. - OS

Both patients lived and have been released back into society now. Without half of America being infected or anything. :) - OS

Methinks y'all are talking about Alcoa store vs Knoxville one. The Knoxville store has no guns/ammo/shooting accessories at all, unless they've changed back in last 6 months or so? They dumped the entire hunting/fishing section maybe 3 years ago now. - OS

No classwork or target test involved with the PA carry permit process. - OS -
Neither. Pro Tech Godfather Tuxedo Custom, of course. :) http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/78634-official-tgo-pro-tech-godfather-buy-in-thread/ - OS

Have one in 9mm Beretta config. It's nifty, 30 round Beretta mags make it a treat -- can hit paper plate at 50 yards offhand, torso at 100. No hiccups at all with any round I've tried in it. Its primary advantage of being easily concealed folded in backpack or briefcase for general carry is legally negated here in TN, but for sure a compact way to keep a rifle in vehicle, great way to match up a carbine with handgun using same mags, etc. Perfect "urban hedgerow" gun after The Crash. ;) - OS

That's my guess, though they are separate charges, with separate penalties, and you can be charged with both. Btw, that's 4 years ago outdated version of TCA. - OS

Christopher Lamar Robinson, 18, of Lebanon, was charged with theft of property and unlawful carry and possession of a weapon. Bond was set at $14,000. Shawn Davon Jones, 19, of Lebanon, was charged with unlawful carry and possession of a weapon. Bond was set at $3,500. Maybe that's just poor wording on the part of arrest record, or of the reporting. Meaning, I can see unlawful carry, but unless they were also prohibited from owning firearms period, I don't get the unlawful possession part. - OS

Official TGO Pro Tech Godfather Buy in thread SOLD OUT
Oh Shoot replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Well, yeah it worked out, but best I remember something like 30% or more who posted and said they'd take one didn't. Somebody correct me if I'm off on that. Pretty sure CMT simply said they'd do it and set a price, but didn't set a minimum buy in. They really didn't know how many folks would order until they opened up the online payment for them. - OS -

Oh, I'm sure I'd like it fine. But hey, now that I've opened my yap in support of my TGO knife brethren, and you piled on the guilt trip ;), just went ahead and sent ya the bux for one (any serial # fine) so if it doesn't come off it ain't my fault! :) - OS edit: Oh, and suggest you put payment info into the first post, had to look through half the thread to find it, will make it easier on others. -
Yep, he's obviously decided to cater to what he thinks will please Holder and the zero information Dem voter base, throwing any semblance of proper jurisprudence to the winds. Shameful and outrageous, on the eve of grand jury hearing, as he was the state's Attorney General and certainly knows better. He and Holder will probably get a room. - OS

Note however, if you step out of the vehicle with that loaded heater on your person, you've committed a felony. - OS

To be the knife nut I am, switchblades have just never had much of a mystique for me, but I'll watch thread and if gets to be a squeaker as to making the minimum I'll certainly jump in for one. It is a very attractive shiv. Send me a PM if it gets down to the wire in case I forget, eh? - OS -
You should know by now that few of my posts are complete until the second edit. :) - OS

- a nonstudent adult may leave (presentably unloaded) firearms in vehicle on school property as per 39-17-1309 - guns (loaded/unloaded condition subject to other statutes) may be possessed in vehicle while in the act of picking up/dropping off passengers on school property as per 39-17-1310 - any permit holder may leave loaded firearms in personal vehicle on school property as per 39-17-1313 Note however that none of these statutes prevent one from being expelled or fired by breaking rules established by the school. - OS

Oh there's more than that going on, this from May, Bushmaster and Rem 1911 production already moved out of the Ilion plant. From Forbes: America's Oldest Gun Maker Thumbs Its Nose At A Two-Faced Senator http://www.forbes.com/sites/frankminiter/2014/05/16/americas-oldest-gun-maker-thumbs-its-nose-at-a-two-faced-senator/ Seems likely they'll do the Beretta thing eventually. - OS
